He leaped straight to Mao and Hitler without pausing to reflect on Godwin's Law. All in all, it was a remarkable show. Morgan won the debate, but only, as Tim Stanley noted, because Jones did not let him get a word in edgewise."*

I was flipping through the channels a few years ago when I caught this gem. Now, I have never really been fond of Piers Morgan, always felt was a rather condescending, fake twit. But when I saw Alex Jones for the first time. I was confused. I thought it was a joke or maybe they just decided to let some paranoid schizophrenic off he meds and let loose on TV. Perhaps they were raising awareness on tourettes by allowing someone diagnosed with it. I didn't think this could sane person who has these beliefs and a RADIO SHOW. WTF? And if he did have some legitimate points, I was too mesmerized by the absurdity of his behaviour to notice.

I worked in a restaurant in Austin in 2010 and Alex Jones came in with a couple of buddies. They weren't unruly or frothing at the mouth like Jones was here, but what makes this scary is knowing he'll act like this on camera, owns guns, but when I encountered him, Jones and his party stayed at the restuarant for at least 3 hours drinking nonstop

Alex is crazy, definitely intense, but he makes a lot of good arguments if you can bear with the paranoid craziness, he's not always hyped like this. He is actually very intelligent and very well studied.
And we need more people to be passionate like this about the direction our country is heading in. People are just sitting back watching the ship sink in super slow motion, and as a result their descendants might never enjoy the freedoms and comforts we have today.

I don't agree with Piers or Alex. Piers should realise that just because there are few gun related murders in the UK doesn't mean guns are the root of the problem. The UK is a different country and therefore a different culture, different traditions and different people (less nut jobs). Likewise, Alex shouldn't be so aggressive. It's unprofessional and you can't have a real discussion when its just one man shouting in another man's face. Having said that, you can't really have a discussion with Piers Morgan at all...

At the beginning of the interview Jones made very good points backed by FBI statistics but then he let his temper make him sound stupid.
Yeah, case in point the 'suicide pills.' I think he is referring to SSRI's (which ~1/10 Americans take, and i do too) which have the affect of increasing suicidal thoughts, so that many people who undergo such treatment is bound to produce lots of suicide. But he didn't seem to have the patience or stability to express it calmly and coherently; I suppose it is his shock-jock origins that dictate his style and delivery, as well as providing him with a support base he doesn't want to alienate with an apparent inconsistency in character.

I disagree; guns are a huge problem. Alex Jones is screaming the wrong things in my opinion. Almost anyone can walk into a shop, grab a gun and walk down the street shooting people. They can walk into a school and mass murder students. The fact that so many people don't see this as a problem is a joke. The IRA claimed that 'The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.' This is a ridiculous solution that creates so many more problems. How do you know the good guy is a good guy and not another bad guy? Won't people feel intimidated by so many people walking around with guns? How can we assure that the bad guy won't shoot the good guy first, resulting in the same problem before but with someone dead? And if it 'works' and the bad guy is shot, then SOMEONE IS STILL MURDERED AND DEAD.
The obvious solution is to make sure that the bad guy doesn't have a gun in the first place. It's simple and easy. Jones' points are not valid.
The nation freaks about 9/11, but more people are killed every year than 9/11 by handguns alone. God Bless America and its total blind willingness to let psychopaths get control of a killing machine.

If like to hear how you would stop a bad guy from getting a gun... There is no way to stop it. If someone is deranged enough to shoot up a school, stopping them from getting a gun at a walmart is like trying to stop a stampede with a sheet of paper. It won't work. There is still a huge criminal black market. Everytime there has been a city with strict gun control laws there has been an immediate surge in violent crime. I.E. Chicago, Los Angeles, DC, etc... And that's not even touching on the main reason we have the 2nd Amendment. The second amendment is there to protect the American people from a tyrannical govt. end of story. The 2nd amendment says "shall not be infringed" I think you should look up "infringe" in the dictionary...

Also what of the democracies that don't enjoy mass gun ownership? In britian where i'm from it is possible to get a revolver (black powder) and manual action rifles, and anyone can own a 3 cartridge pump action or semi-auto shotgun (which wouldn't be too hard to modify to take more.) My point is it is culturally particular to the U.S., you can't justify it on grounds outside of your constitution.
Guns in the hands of the people is a right so that in the case of a tyrannical gov. The people have the ability to overthrow that gov. In the words of Thomas Jefferson; "the beauty of the 2nd amendment is that you won't need it until they try to take it." Countless times in history governments that have pushed for gun control have also commuted genocide, democide and many other -cides with their monopoly of force. Luckily we in America have not had to take up arms against our gov. For a very long time. But the threat is always there. That is the reason the 2nd amendment says "shall not be infringed"

i was a beginning listener to alex jones in the past and he has some arguments that makes you think and question some things up until he made a huge deal about a movie called Machete with danny trejo and said the movie would cause the mexicans to rise up and fight againts the US government and after that i couldnt take him serious it was laughable.
