  • 2023 Kawasaki ZX4RR modded for the new track season. Conditions 60*F with 90*F track temps.
    It was a 92db sound day (low sound) so the pipe had a DB killer plug fitted, plus I had to reduce the throttle between Turn 5 and 6.
    4:36 Getting passed by Josh Herrin #2
    13:48 my right side foot peg fell off! It was recovered and more securely set. All good.
    Reflashed ECU
    Full exhaust
    Race Rearsets.
    Regeared +2 Teeth
    ABS deleted w/ Core stainless lines
    16 ZX10 master cylinder
    SAS and Emissions delete.
    36lbs reduced.
    Pirelli Super Corsa SC3
    32psi Front 25psi Rear
    Tires warmers set to 75C.
    Gearing: 13T/46T
    Vcyclenut ECU reflash and Yosh-replica header and Graves Ti slip-on rear canister.
    Suspension: front stock with full preload. Shock stock but dialed near firm on C & R.
    Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen.
    Helpful to get a handle on the track, decent track, lines, etc.
    Shot with GoPro 11 Black. 5.0 hyper smooth. Looks fantastic and makes everything look so slow.
    Thanks for watching.
    Apologies for the lack of editing.

      Thank you very much. This bike is a real hoot. It’s also fun with the improvements. Hope to have more and better detailed content coming up soon. Thanks for watching.

    Looks like fun.
    Did you not rev it out to 16,000rpm because of noise regulations?
    On that track you'd probably be better off on a ZX-6R or ZX-10R.
    I plan on picking up a 40th anniversary ZX-4RR this month.
    It will be my first sport bike 🏍 so I don't want to go too crazy and either end up losing my license or dead.
    Enjoy.

      Yes, a couple locations I had to keep the RPMs low because of sound. Also the video is a bit deceiving. It makes the bikes look farther way, but actually quite closer so usually if I’m backing up off if there’s traffic it’s because I want to keep a safe distance. The new 400 is tremendous amount of fun definitely is not slow, unless compared to the liter/superbikes, but you can ring it out without going hyper speed and risk of losing your license.
      If you’re going to only have one bike, I would do the ZX 6R. Similar feeling tremendously more power. If you watch one of the other visit videos, I posted I have a local top AFM rider (Brenden #44) on his bone stock 2024 ZX6R with Pirelli SC1 slicks, he is absolutely decimating everyone on the track.
      Congrats on the new 40th anniversary!

      William the problem with the ZX6R is that it is way too fast for public streets, and can hit 100mph in first gear.
      The fun for me in riding is going up and down through the gears, and I can't legally do that on a ZX-6R or I'll either be arrested or dead.
      Remember this is going to be my first sport bike.
      I should mention I'm also 60 years old so I think the ZX6R would just be way too much for me.

    What in the world does a track have a low DB sound day for? what possible purpose does that serve?

    • @williamonthewestside
      @williamonthewestside  2 месяца назад

      To not have the neighbors complain and sue the track. Yes it’s silly. People moving next to a 65 year old iconic racetrack and then complain for the occasional sound.

    Why changing gears with 12k RPM? Is the first time with this bike or on this track?

    • @williamonthewestside
      @williamonthewestside  3 месяца назад

      a bit of warmup and occasionally shifting by feel, as the last 1000 rpms do not make additional power, so getting back into the torque.

    • @jardelregert
      @jardelregert 3 месяца назад

      @@williamonthewestside But its power comes at 14500rpm, and the torque at 13000rpm, you changed gears in less than 12000rpm, none of what you said makes sense, but good luck learning to ride with it

      @@jardelregert this better represents the bike. Mixing it up, later in the season so in better condition, fresher tires and track conditions, etc. not a sound restricted day.ruclips.net/video/LxCkrZ1jAwI/видео.htmlsi=rf5E4R7YB7xbE7T3

    Sounds and looks like its really struggling 🤷🏼‍♂️

      The bike overall was doing really well. If anyone was struggling it was just the rider :-) again first time back on the track in six months definitely a bit rusty. Planning to go out again at Sonoma on Monday will have a new set of tires fitted, and hopefully the new brake pads. Slowly getting back into riding condition. Thanks for watching.

    Damn, I shouldve been in A group. I expected A group riders to be a much faster. Next year for sure.
