I was determined to show you all what I often see in the beautiful mountain lakes but have failed to capture on video, that being, schools of fish. I also made "friends" with some trout while I tried to find some goodies while metal detecting under water.
I hope you enjoy the fun, click the LIKE button, leave a comment... subscribe?
Yup, the longer explore videos are great. Thanks for posting and showing the large school and tag along fish.
Sure thing... What is that place in your Profile pic?
The longer you spend hunting down in the lakes the more I am blessed by what you're doing...❤
That is awesome Philip
At 00.38, the shape of the rock...looked a coffin! Or am I just morbid? The tree at 5:19 was incredible. I could not believe how it just went on! Thanks for taking us along! 🇺🇲🐟🐢🤿😊
Hi Robyn, I see what you mean, but you may be morbid, 😂 TYSM for coming along!
Hey MokPot I was born and raised in Ca. used to spend a lot of time in the Sierra's. I was certified back in '73. My dad was certified back in the '50's at Jacques Cousteau's dive shop. I believe that was in Long Beach. The only lake I dove was June Lake. Mostly I dove the Channel Islands. This is great! Gives me the urge to get back in to it. Thanks for sharing the vid's.
So good to hear from another old school diver! You predate me, 1979 You know... I considered diving June lake several years ago... hmm...
Your fish buddies. Think you slow but forgot their lunch. You always find neat stuff keep it up. Love to watch
Thanks Greg
I'm home bound nearly bed bound once upon a time I enjoyed every moment I could swimming wasn't the greatest swimmer but I loved being in the water. I truly enjoy watching your channel it gives me a sense of being with you. Please make the dives as long as you want.😘😘💋💋
Hi Ellen, it is so good to hear from you, I am glad you enjoy the videos. I am sorry to hear you are home bound. I love the water also, especially being under it! : )
@@mokpot just keep doing what you do,enjoy your swim, dives for you and all of us that get so much pleasure watching with you. 🤗🧜♂️
I’m aka KP2010. We haven’t seen much of you last summer, I think you were traveling. So, yes longer videos plz! Plus you need to make an official dive!! Thanks for the enjoyment!
hi Debbie,
@@mokpot Hi yoself!!😜 Do you remember me? Also I was thinking that you might want to detect near boat ramps and under the docks…just a thought!
By all means yes longer seg's. I could watch this all day !!!! 😊
Noted! Although there are a few dives already done that may not have longer sequences
I like to see what is on the lake and river bottoms. Watching you find stuff is a bonus! Hugs from sunny Arizona 💖😎💖
❤️I will take those hugs! I lived in AZ for a year when I was a kid.
You wouldn’t want to be here now🌡️🥵
Great vid, I like the longer format. Loved the comment about the golf balls.....LOL!
Thanks James
I like the videos longer. Always fun to watch.
Great! Thank you
Great dive! Love the metal detector. Do it again.
Thanks for tuning in
Time flies when you’re having fun! I love the treasure hunt!
Thanks Drew
I am always impressed at how much was lost in the water. I did a water hunt in an old swim area in Seattle and found 2 Mercs, 5 wheats. I love water hunting!!
I would be thrilled with 2 Mercs and some wheat pennies!
Whatever you choose to do I’m game. I enjoy your videos and appreciate the time you take to make sure we’re with you. Be you and I’ll see you on your next adventure. Glad to see more pop up from you and always be safe.
: ) Thanks so much.
Hey Mok... Love being underwater with you, at 72, I don't think I'll get there. Also really like it when you include a typed comment too... Continue on, sir!
Hi Nick, thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
Thank you Sir… I have been watching your videos for a few weeks already.. Awesome Videos… California presente…👏👏👏👏🐟
Hello Anibal, Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Your videos have inspired me to begin scuba diving.
I love the adventure and the metal detecting.
Simeon, that is pretty cool! let me know how it goes.
Hi from Kentucky, I think the amount of metal detecting was just the right amount. And those trees was really long. The school of fish was really cool..I think it’s so neat that the fishing video games are so accurate to what you videos are like. Again thanks for sharing
Hello Kentucky Tammie!
Awesome dive, very cool fish footage!
Thanks David
Always fantastic, but the fish stole the show.
They usually do!
Yes. The uncut detecting is awesome.
The fish chasing is super cool!!! And yes!
Thanks Richey
You really "nailed it" with this video, keep them coming.
Thank you!
Hey ya Wicked dive n detect, Yes 2 ya question . keep up the gr8 work☝☝✌
Thanks 👍
Yes please. I like underwater metal detecting.
Good luck
Thanks!
I like when you are able to dive near docks and swimming holes; more interesting finds. I live in Florida, so I’m not aware of the public lakes that you have in your area. Always great when you discover relics & antiques 😊
Hi Shannon, finding the older stuff (even old square nails) is the most fun.
Gotta love it thanks for video keep it safe see you on the next one 👍👍
TY Shirley
Yoir 🎉fishy freinds are good company. Long hunts arefine lenjoy all the trips
Great!
Another spellbinding video - thanks! As far as shorter or longer metal detecting sequences, I honestly don't have a preference. I enjoy all your videos. And I really liked "Fishy McFish Face" lol!
I am pleased you are tuning in Kelly
That bass strike on that school of fish was awesome! So cool that you caught that on camera.
Chasing the fish was my favorite part of the dive. I was very fortunate to have had the camera on when I bumped into them
I truly enjoy all of your video content, long or short!
Good to hear!
I enjoy the MDing videos, I also appreciate how you clean up our precious lakes.
More to come!
you should bring some fish food in a zip bag for your little friends. great video
Fun idea! 🎉
Those aluminum pull-tabs always sound so good.
I know right! The old square nails sound even better on the PI machine
Cool video thanks for sharing. Liked the water detecting really cool
I am glad you enjoyed the video Eric
Great video and dive. Chasing the fish was fun. . Beautiful waters. Nice to see you get the lost trap out of the water. Some really nice finds. I save all my lead have about 6 full buckets of lead. Scraping metals is like finding treasure. Its just in buckets 😂😂
Really enjoyed all your videos, Thanks. Gregg 👍😃
Hey Greg, A while back I gave away about 75 lbs. of various lead, and still have another 100+ There is so much random lead in rivers and lakes...
@@mokpotThat's for sure Mark. Its real sad to see that much lead in the water. No wonder everything feels like it is dying. If nitrate and other heavy metals aren't enough. There has to be a better way. G.
thanks for bringing us on your journey. It's always fun.
Glad you enjoy it!
Great video as usual, yes definitely more metal detecting videos, you should find some old swimming holes find some nice gold and silver 👍
Good idea
I will say that the ping pong ball is not an official dive ball & Mr. McFishy Fish Face is loving all those bugs & worms you were digging up…he was saying more please. 😂 yes add the metal detecting, but my favorite will always be your follow ups at the end.
Hey, you are so sweet. I greatly appreciate your ability to be easily entertained by the round-ups at the end. LOL 🙂
@@mokpot haha, what can I say…the fish also entertained me, that’s how I roll. 🤣🤣
I thought you were going to crash into that big boulder (and cat face)@1:05. The tree at 6:40 looked like a dragon at first (looked like the same one as in the beginning of video). Lots of little fishies! Yes, I enjoy the longer metal detecting videos. I think your fish friend really likes you!
You are the second person to see the Cat! My fish friend was there for a free and easy lunch of worms
Really enjoy the detecting hunts. The longer the better. Favorite was around a dock and you found a huge amount of change. Thanks or sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the videos Mark!! I think it would be interesting to dive in some rivers and lakes in Europe to see what you find there.
Now you are talking! That would be awesome!
Might want to ( secretly ) hold on to that cap. Because it looks like its gonna be a vintage relic pretty soon ! :~)
🤔 i wonder if collectors of cans, bottles, and other collectable items will continue?
I enjoy your videos, long or short. This one had a nice mix of metal detecting, anticipation of what you'll find, seeing a huge long tree, lots and lots of fish this time, underwater geology(big boulders, big rocks and bunches of smaller rocks) that fascinates me, and being in one of my favorite lakes.🙋♂️🏍💨
Thanks Steve
Good dive. Happy to see pretty clean bottom🙂
Me too! It is good to hear from you!
Alway love a good underwater treasure hunt. Wonder if those "hot" rocks containe contain silver or gold!! You'll just HAVE to go back and check!!🤣🤣👍👍
Could
Possibly be some gold in it. I’ve been fishing a river for 33 years and a stretch of j in t is only accessible by boat or unless you have permission to go on the private owned land. Anyway I know the owner personally and it’s never an issue. So I took a guy who teaches geology and we went to one of my favorite spots and he was like holy crap! I was like ya you see those steelhead down there huh!! He was like no! He’s all do you know what is inside this rock? I was like YEAH!! Plenty more rock of that rock he was all here watch this and HOLY GOD MY LANTA!! I’m like is just that rock only specifically he’s all showing me what to look for. I’m like there soooo many of those!! Well not any more 😂!!! But yes gold sold old placer gold
Contain gold?
Like nuggets?
@@garystevens7575 Cool
Those were some fearless trout's, especially that one . Ok, I saw pouch and the clasp top. Interesting. I enjoyed the detecting sequences. As a land lubber detectorist it's all about the thrill of the hunt, not the recovered items. Good dive!
Good to hear from you Tinman
In a previous video you were in a lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. And you came upon a trail you suspected used by the indians. Never know what they could have carried on the many trips along that trail. Interesting hunt Mark
Thanks. That trail certainly had me thinking of just that.
No fish?oh now I see some wow!!!!!
Lol it amazes me how many times people comment before they watch the video fully. Thank you for taking the time to comment and for watching the video.
Yes! Longer is better
Great, Thanks!
Swimming with the school of fish was very cool
So much fun!
Yes, Love it.
Great dive, no preferences just always enjoy the trip. Was waiting for a giant meteor to pop out on the detecting!
That would be pretty cool… I found one once, in my back yard of all places
Don't change a thing you're doing a great job
Thanks!
Thank you!! Like I'd said earlier.. your doing a killer job! If there's any neg comments? Screw em!.. this is your journey that we re all lucky enough to be able to watch doing what you love to do.. thank you for everything. N.t. g.v. CA.
Good underwater adventure. Loved it. Lov metal detecting.greetings from Dominican Republic 💪
i am happy you liked the video!
Wow great video I use to scuba dive some serra mountain lakes. Now I'm in to kiak fishing. Thanks
Cool! I have a fishing Kayak, I use it to Scuba Dive from lol
Hey Mark ! Thanks for asking , but all your videos are enjoyable ! As one Man said ,,,,, let the Spirit guide you . Thanks my friend ,,,,,,
Will do
Yes
I don't treasure hunt but I do fish and there are a lot of fish
Gol-lee! Look at all those minnows… I mean fish.
Haha… they were fish, the larger ones were camera shy or I had the camera off when they appeared. Thanks for tuning in Jim
Those little fish "must go faster, must go faster"!---Thanx for the selfie, I was sitting here wondering how much weight you were packing in!---The boring life of a fish!---Vintage pull tabs, when did those get switched out?!---Viewing time, as long as you're willing to film & edit, I'm content to sit & watch!
Hi Alana! I think it is an older... late 1800's site as well as current, so the old beavertail pull tabs and square nails promise the possibility of cool stuff. a couple of years ago I found two older silver rings here.
That one Tree....... was HUGE!!! IM JUST guessing....over 125 feet long.....
Yes it is a big tree for sure… I wonder how long ago it fell, was it laying there when General Washington was inaugurated as President?
I really enjoy your Dives, and thank you for taking us along ... I look forward to getting the alert , that you have another adventure ...
Just seeing the things that's actually, never been filmed.... is really excited!
I hope somebody contacts you to help recover in some way, those Huge Trees, gotta be worth lots of money!! The recoveries would be super videos also.!!!
Question !. @ 4:59 how do those trees not just fall apart???... Question 2. What the heck is a "HOT ROCK".. Statement 1.. Still living vicariously through your vids. Statement 2. And still wishing I could do the diving thing with your assistance. ( Memory refresher, 65 yrs old, disabled, partially vision impaired). Keep them vids coming, enjoying them tremendously... Nic
Hi Nic, at 4:59, you might be looking at all the debris along the right side of the log? That is a collection of loose branches and pine cones mostly, all on one side due to… a slight sloping bottom the tree catches them, keeping them from going deeper perhaps? Waves? That tree may have been laying there for hundreds of years. A hot rock, is one that is highly mineralized, usually of Iron Oxides and sets of a metal detector. It is always good to hear from you !
The sea hunter is still my go to detector in Salt water.
Easy to use, easy to learn the tones….
😂harassing the bait fishies😂. Mok maybe u should bring down a powerful green laser pointer put inside a clear sealed bag and see if those fishies would chase it down like a cat😆.
Keep it rolling ur doing fine on the filming
Also the rainbows may be following u around bcuz u were stirring up the sediments and the fishies was just looking to see if any goodies came out. Kinda like if u had chickens and u started stirring up dirt the chickens will come by to see if any bugs appears
Interesting idea…
YES
Yes

Donner Lake!
Thanks for turning in Stanley
Yes. Could I PLEASE have the ring you found?
Karen… you want me to give you a wedding band? This is so sudden.
@@mokpot HAHAHA!!!! I just like the ring.
pmsl the beer top get it
What type of fish 🐟 were they? Keep up the great videos 👍
Trout of some sort I think… I may have to get educated on this subject.
Interesting that there are fish up there and there is even garbage in the lake 🐟🐟🐟
Garbage is everywhere
@@mokpot
Yes, unfortunately !
You have a lot of gear clipped to that belt. Do you have to wear any additional weight with that full wetsuit, or is the weight of the equipment enough to create neutral buoyancy?
The DPV (scooter) is about neutral buoyancy, I usually dive a little overweight. It may be 2 pounds or so, when I am metal detecting, or when I am diving in a river with current. I do end up heavy though by the time I pick up a bunch of stuff, but never so much that it becomes an issue, maintaining neutral buoyancy is not a problem, my BCD (buoyancy, compensator) has more than enough lift to maintain my neutral buoyancy.
Metal detect at rope swings and places people jump. You will find lots of jewelry
Thank you
I like any video you make, but I'd also like for you to try a pinpointer, its hard to see through the disturbed silt. Thanks
I tried a pin pointer in the past, but iI still need to fan the sand and gravel out, I can not dig through with my hands. I realize it is difficult to see, it is for me as well. LOL , I want to share my experience! Thanks for taking time to write
Man so you got yourself a GARRET. I’ll pm ya a place that will definitely be a place you wanna go.. BUT! Just don’t share it. Well actually it’s always good to tell someone where your going in case of anything!! .
Awesome. ty
I have a Minelab Xcal also, but have not really used it yet
👍👍👍🧜♀️
Hello Tuk Tuk
Not to bad keep at it there are cool stuff down there !!!!!! No golf ball ?
Lol… no, much to my disappointment, no golfball. I may quit diving if this continues😂
What's the best thing you ever found metal detecting under water?
It is impossible to say, the coolest has to be a pre 1920 wooden speed boat. Most expensive gold emerald ring maybe. Mostly, just hundreds of great relaxing , live in the moment, dives. With friends and solo.
I live here and never heard anyone say the lakes here have no fish.
I always see fishermen…
Yes. Enjoy the longer ones.
Ty
You might be able to get just one more thing attached to your underwater equipment...maybe...😅..and you don't see pull tabs like that much anymore..those were old!!!
Hi Jennifer, any suggestions what I could attach? 😂
@@mokpot haha....not sure you seem to have everything you could ever need but was watching with my 3 year old grandson and he said you need an Octonaut... LMAO...it is some little cartoon he watches...
How cute! I am happy to know I produce children friendly content
Haha..yes, he loves to watch with me!!
I want to see metal detecting under docks
I have a few videos on the channel doing that And another one coming soon
Have you ever found any Indian relics in your explorations?
Yes, Although to remove or disturb them is illegal in California. So… even if they are in a river bottom and will soon be lost forever to the ever changing bottom… 🙈
@@mokpot That makes no sense. What a bum!
What do " Hot Rocks " ring up as ?? Didn't know if they all rang up the same. I think Mr Fishy McFish is trying to sneak up behind you. Better watch out ! If Tom was able to pick out a cat at !:05, he has dang good eyes. It only looked like a shadow cat & he's glowing eyes !
The Garret Sea Hunter 2 is a PI machine, so there is not a numerical ID. It “sounds” like a solid hit, something like a silver ring, but not quite. Yes, they all seem to sound about the same, i was fairly certain that the last few I found were actually hot rocks before I dug them.
Yes after the gas runs out just hold your breath
Or stand up....
yes
Thanks
Witch lake were you in.
Hi Sam, I am sorry to say that I need to keep my locations to myself. In the past I have shared the locations and I have lost many of my favorite hunting spots. So now when I take time to explore and find these cool places, I feel the need to keep them to myself so I can continue to make videos. I hope you understand.
Dude how do you pack your scooter and detector at the same time that is a lot of gear ?
LOL. yes it is a lot of gear, I walk to the water carefully (me plus 100+ pounds of gear) Once in the water I float!
@@mokpot Do you have some kind of attachment for the detector that snap on your gear while you are breezing through the water ? I bet you are wopped after a day out doing this . I am going to the dive shop this week to see what I need to get re cert thanks for the reply Mark
Lol wow how do you get out of the water with all that gear. I cant even get my butt out if the water
I am incredibly strong..😂. Actually my gear typically runs about 100 lb or more and I just take it easy, slow and careful
As a new sub looking at some of your older vids ,there is a lack of fish in a lot of your vids
Well. I am often not fish focused. I do at times make an effort
Know anything about giant salamanders? Have heard stories,I'm a fourth generation native of California.
No, I do not know anything about giant, salamanders, or even small salamanders… Other than they kind of creep me out
Do you find expensive jewelery near incline village?
I have not... Did you lose some?
@@mokpot i had no clever comeback. The answer is no. I do have one more question, even though there are no sharks do you ever get thallasphobia ?sorry if i butchered spelling.
@@mokpot probably a dumb question but i lived in maui and took my buddies bait on a surfboard about 500 yards out and looked down into the deepest blue water and kinda panicked. Dont know if that was thalasophobia but it scared the shit out of me
No, I look into the deep blue and see opportunity... Seriously. I love it
@@mokpot good for you. I think i could do tahoe but the ocean not a chance. Great videos
I'll take longer sequences of anything you do.
Thank you Kathleen
How many glasses are in your collection?
Wow… good question, about a year ago I purged about 150 pairs. From this year so far… maybe 50 pairs
@@mokpot I know what you give your friends
Are there fish in tahoe? Its sarcasm
Yes, great fish tacos at The Bridge Tender in Tahoe City
@1:05; See the "CAT"?
I DO! great find TY. I love finding faces in nature, this is the biggest yet!
I added your find (with credit) to the description
Lol. I saw a turtle shell. 🐢😊
@@mokpot There are "ROCKS" here on guam that are considered LANDMARKS including; "BEAR ROCK" (HUGE, standing up on 2 legs,) "CAMEL ROCK" (2 Humps, where the US landed in WW11, and my favorite; "TURTLE ROCK" (only visible from the sea with a detailed head and even eyes & mouth, all in scale and in EXACT placement.
I think a bad angler created that myth.

Buy a deus 2 and the pinpointer
I don’t think the Deus is rated for the depths I dive
I checked, the deus is rated to 60 feet, the Garret seahunter 2 is rated to 200 feet
The pin pointers are rated to 10 feet
Yes
