I dropped my slim while it was in the original packaging as I came home from a late night at a friends house, and I didn’t set it back up until I woke up. When I did it wouldn’t load and I saw this vid and was WORRIED. I took the hard drive out like you showed and it was pretty dirty so I cleaned everything up really gently and connected the hard drive again and thank the lord everything was cool after that! I appreciate the video still cause i wouldn’t have know off top of how to access the hard drive or if I needed info to get a new one. Hope this helps a fellow worried gamer. 👋🏻🍺

My ps4 that I got back in july had this issue. I only played it like 9 times. I tried this way, but it didnt work. Nothing worked. I had to send it into sony for a repair and instead of sending me my ps4 fixed, they sent me a pre owned ps4 in worse condition than mine. I got it yeaterday, not even 2 hours into using it, it got this issue already. I didnt want to try this again, but i gave it 1 more shot thanks to my friend encouraging me and it fixed it. i just cleaned all the dust off of the sides of the ps4 and took the hard drive out and cleaned the dust from there and put the same hard drive in and it worked! when i opened the ps4 the colors were brighter and performance was better. so no need for a new hard drive. (unless its broken)
All I did was take the left side of the PS4 off and push the screw by the hard drive in a little and it worked, I was so scared, I really hope u guys can fix y’all a PS4!

@@damien8949 Once i plugged it in it work and I was able to swapped over my storage to the external drive. It also allowed me to update the system. Get a USB Stick bro that works too

Mine showed the error. I restarted it twice, updated the system software, and it worked fine. You don't have to buy anything when you see the error and panic buying the hardware set. It will work unless you have any physical damage during storage or water damage during storage. Also, thanks for giving information about the hardware that can be replaced. It is helpful.
, when I was plugging in my controller for charging. I accidentally pulled on the console and it fell on the hard-drive side. So when I start to restart my console. That message showed up, and I got worried. I watched your video to help me fix the console. So, I opened the L-shaped bar at the hard. And I found out that, the hard drive disk was a little loose, and misaligned. I held on to the black strip and pulled it into place. And voila, restarted the PS4 and it works.

@@otsutsuki.7714 Yes. I just powered the ps4 down and removed the hd. I then blew air down in the hole and carefully wiped the hd contacts. Popped it back in and it worked.

It’s not really the hardware that needs to be replace. Honestly I wish people would find some other alternatives but holding down the ps button until you hear a second beep will take you to safe mode once you’re there you want to press on number 5 rebuild database. This will insure you to have better performance speed and back to the traditional blue screen or any wallpaper you downloaded on your ps4. Hopes this helps
Fasttech I’m not very tech savvy. Is there a certain software I should use? Also, the hard drive has a kinda bubble look on the little disc for the hard drive, is that normal? Once I do clone it and install a new hard drive, do I just place my data on a file in the usb then just plug the usb into the ps4 slim and it transfers?

@@fasttechvideo If you replace a motherboard then you need to replace the optic drive also, so technically is a new game console. PS 4 mainboard is paired with the optic drive, you cannot change one without the other.

How to install PS4 System Software on new hard drive:
This procedure is for initializing your PS4™ system and performing a new installation of the system software, such as for when you replace the hard disk drive.
All data on the new hard drive will be deleted.
The following things are needed to perform the update:
PS4 system
USB stick with 1.2 GB of free space
On the USB storage device, create folders for the update file.
Create a folder named "PS4" and Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE".
Download the update file, and save it in the "UPDATE" folder you created in step 1.

Turn off the PS4 console

For the record, the file PUPDATE or whatever it's called for you needs to be in a folder called "UPDATE", that's in another folder called "PS4".

In very rare cases it could be because of a controller chip on the mainboard but never because of the power supply.
Mine must have moved during transit, took it out, popped it back in and it worked, saved me a huge headache, cheers very much.

Just clean ur connectors on the hard drive with any eraser. Worked for me after watching 👀 ✌ (also ps home screen ran/loaded smoother)

You can try cloning the HDD with a windows PC and cloning software. Good luck!

What if I’m getting the cannot start ps4 loop bc of update even after updating
Then buy the hard drive and it should work right after you switch the hard drive
Or if your talking abt how to get out safe mode then hold the button on the front of your ps4 until you hear two clicks and when The PS4 turns on it should take you to an options menu try restartig it first option 1 and then go your way down

Man I just took the hd out and blew some compressed air down in there and it started working again. Now I'm definitely backing everything up, had some sick ass video clips I thought I'd lost.

@@otsutsuki.7714 Yes. I just powered the ps4 down and removed the hd. I then blew air down in the hole and carefully wiped the hd contacts. Popped it back in and it worked.

i got this msg as well. all i did was take the hard drive out and clean the ports inside the ps4 as well as the hard drives with cleaning duster ... did the trick for me . didnt have to buy a new hard drive. thanks for the info i did not know where the hard drive was.

It’s not really the hardware that needs to be replace. Honestly I wish people would find some other alternatives but holding down the ps button until you hear a second beep will take you to safe mode once you’re there you want to press on number 5 rebuild database. This will insure you to have better performance speed and back to the traditional blue screen or any wallpaper you downloaded on your ps4. Hopes this helps
Fasttech I’m not very tech savvy. Is there a certain software I should use? Also, the hard drive has a kinda bubble look on the little disc for the hard drive, is that normal? Once I do clone it and install a new hard drive, do I just place my data on a file in the usb then just plug the usb into the ps4 slim and it transfers?

The data is technically still there, you can clone it to a new HDD but only if the hard drive still boots using a PC

You will need a motherboard replacement.
@@fasttechvideo If you replace a motherboard then you need to replace the optic drive also, so technically is a new game console.
PS 4 mainboard is paired with the optic drive, you cannot change one without the other.

I punched my ps4 because it kept corrupting application and it was unplayable. Now I find out my rage was because the hard drive was causing all the damn problems
My ps4 pro kept corrupting with the original hard drive and when i changed to a new better drive. Its just sony's crappy hardware and system software.
