@@SinghalLouis Yeah 💯 i heard it, infact i happened to watch a documentary on it -- it is called Theyyam i watched that documentary 2 years before kantara got released, however Kannada industry was the first to bring this traditional practice into spotlight. Hence it deserves the appreciation for it, Malayalam industry may be good at rooted stories but they can never direct a devotional flick like kantara because of their hatred towards Hinduism due to the heavy influence of communism 🙃

I always try to find patterns among different film industries. While Telugu films focus more on Mass masala films , Tamil films have both mass and oppression driven films. While Malayalam films have some bit of communism grained in it due to nature of people & the state govt itself and also most movies have certain flavour of it, thats why lately most Malayalam films don't have that indigenous cultural aspect in them. So i don't think even if Malayalam films makes a concept of Theyyam - they might not encourage it fully as opposed to how kantara got encouraged in Karnataka is what I feel . I feel Kerala people thoughts in recent times have gone very liberal, so i don't think such Cultural film can be accepted widely when most people think liberally

I'm immensely proud that filmmakers from south are leading the Indian movie industry on path of originality, grandeur and epic portrayal of our Sanatan sabhyata and sanskriti. The Indian film industry is shifting base. Time will come when people will learn Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malyalam and other languages just to get deep insights into their movies. This will be great.
