Thank God for Jerry Carino. My favorite writer and speaker about NJ College Basketball. He asks the best questions in post-game interviews and stands out amongst the others.
I especially liked Jerry's comments at the end. In his own way, he reiterated Pike's "enjoy the journey". Fans shouldn't overreact to any single loss or issue. I was a sophomore during the '76 season and to this day, it is one of my favorite sports memories and experiences. Let this season be yours.
Dylan will be able to defend but Ace will struggle to defend consistently. The problem in the exhibition was guarding the center and REBOUNDING! Our bench is very strong and will be effective this year. Go RU
Fall of 1975, not much emphasis was placed on freshmen (first year of frosh being eligible was 1972-73). In NJ, only 2 players from one HS could play on the same team during the off season. Very few high schoolers were known save a Lew Alcindor. No one was allowed to accept money. My tuition at a hard to get in private school was $4000. January/February/March of 1976 was exciting and surrealistic. As timed passed, Sellers was an excellent college player, but other Rutgers players became better pros. The team was actually more talented than we thought.. Cinderella went to the ball, but her feet didn't fit the glass slippers
@@burtwest2750 Harper has signed NIL deals with national brands like Fanatics and Hollister. Other than the Vegas NIL tournament, I believe all of his NIL money is coming from outside of Rutgers. Ace is less clear, I think it’s a mix of both Rutgers and non-Rutgers NIL money. Relationships won out here with the Harper family and Ace’s ties to Brandin Knight and Dylan.

I am really concerned about the Center position.

I would still like to know how much RU is paying Bailey and Harper.

@@thescarletfaithful -thanks I saw valuations of between 1.6 and 1.8 million but don't know if they are reliable
@ it’s very hard to know. No transparency here. From what I’ve gathered figures are often inflated in both college hoops and football.
After what happened to the football team after their pre-season hype, I'm not falling for it again. Nuh-uh Rutgers!
