@@dezmondtchalla3126 it dosent matter much. The box is sealed of from the trunk thats why it wont rattle. Really efficient. U have to seal of the trunk for it to work properly. I did that to my grand prix. 2 12" MTX thunders8500s on a MTX 1500 rms amp.

@@flattire4243 No infinite baffle would use the enitre trunk as an enclosure. The sub would be mounted to the wood with the back of the subs exposed.
If you ditch the 5 sides and the bass port of the enclosure, and use IB specific subwoofers, that’s OG SQ right there.

@@whatta7793 it would be so dumb to remove the seats in this situation, they could clearly just fold back up, the side pieces for the seat-backs are even there still lol.
I'd have to rewatch to be sure but I find it more likely that he popped the seat-bottom off because in most cars like mine you just pull on it and it pops put, literally takes 30 seconds to pull in and out.
But you do this so your seat-backs can lay at a nearly perfect flat angle. Depending on your car you can't can't tell your seats are still in there

@@RandoManFPV was about to say that thats kinda stupid in terms of "dailying", shoulda just get a van, i was thinking of doing something similar to my passat, and i will gladly put the subs a few cm's back so i can use the rear seats because the trunk will be full of bass bits and bobs, although im not sure whether to go 12's or 15's, i think 12's is the most i can use in the trunk while also fitting amps and baterries and whatnot
That being said, the setup is clean but gosh darnit, would it be so much better with the seats still in it

Great looking setup. I am young at least in the car audio world and I’ve never seen a ported enclosure set up this way. You did an excellent job! GO STEELERS!
Remember children, It takes power to make Power. If you don't have a proper battery, lithium preferably. Upgraded alternator proper gauge wiring. Your amplifiers are going to be starving for amperage. They will not be able to feed your system properly , you must start at the beginning. Make believe your building a house, you must start with a strong Foundation. Many times I see people go out and buy a huge amplifier, do the installation themselves without knowing what they're doing. Using the stock battery and alternator and some garbage thin wiring. Then wonder why it doesn't sound right. Why my amplifiers are getting hot and shutting off. Hopefully this will help out some newbies, good luck.

This is my dream for my Corolla. I was thinking american bass or skar. I was think 3k watts for subs, 600w for the front stage, 100ah lithium, and a 280 amp alternator. I was looking a little more budget oriented. Using bang for the buck components and building it all myself should make it pretty reasonable.

You have to go to somebody in the car audio business. Usually a shop can get u one if u dont want to make your own. They usually know people who has some or have them theirself. Probly why they stay sold out , car audio shops buy them out.
Not necessary. the system would probably sound tighter if the port was the proper size I don't know what genius decided to put one in that big too much weed

people are saying that the speakers are out of phase I don't think you can tell from the video it may be the camera the frame that it was shot at and I would have to agree that the port is too big then we have the geniuses that are saying as opposed to the port the man should have put another woofer in there three woofers are not going to make it sound better neither is an oversized port for that matter I would have gone smaller on the port for sure

I have a 2018 cruze. I REALLY Want this EXACT build
I'm not going that crazy with my 04' Passat 1.8T 5-Speed Wagon. More towards overall SQ with a dash of SPL. Currently with my project ride I have a Orion XTR 750.4 running my front and rear components. Once I finish the Big 3, oscillator, and alternator upgrade as my 14.4volt is originally 90amps I'll be adding a Taramps 1200.1 or 1800.1 to power two 10in CT Torpo's which I'll fabricate in a custom enclosure rated to a suitable frequency. Currently, I've drawn up plans for a decently thick board to cover the area the retractable cover use to be and add a piece of plexiglass in the center with a VW Vinyl logo in the center of that carpeted. Lit up with LEDs of a type to light up inside and the logo. Behind the back seat, I'll have a wall built where the amplifiers will be mounted at angles. The wall will be carpeted as well but it will have holes through it for he wires to go through. I will have the fuse/distribution blocks visible but all the extra cables won't be visible. I will also have certain sized holes which will have fans facing out the other side to draw heat away from the Amps. Having Ceramic Nano Tint just about all around preventing a good amount of the sun's infrered heat from warming up the back will be extremely helpful. After planning it out for over a year it will certainly look good taking it again to car shows and such this year as I brought it stock last year to compete in stock class near Milwaukee, WI.
That's pretty clean. It's got potential. I want to find a way to do this n still retain the seats.

I had 1 zv5 18" on a sfb8000 on stock electrical installed in a ford focus with a custom backseat box that took the entire back up and that shit was banging. It would take my mirror off on 1 bass drop.

we actually called it a Deck behind your back seat in the 80s...I'm 46 now didn't have all that trunk noise... an they were bumping 10 an 15inch subwoofers in a deck back then

super classy build and it seem's the owner is quite happy with it from that laugh haha,good times,wish it wasnt so far for me to go im in texas,it sucks bad,they do have texas heat wave and its just that,hot as hell in august i think and then theres a sound quality get together for them to play their michael jackson and madonna and brag about how smart they are.i like clean sounds,i do,i have a very upscale front stage ran active,but i just cat seem to crossover to sq and have my bass sound like its coming from the dash and have it all turned down to blend in everything,especially when ive got a nightshade 18 in the back of a blazer lol

Clean build that but port looks a little to big I would make it a 7 inch Port with a nice rolled edge on the inside get that clean air
People that know how to do a proper build would never use a port that big bigger is not better in every case I would have to say that it would most likely sound better with a small port mistake that we could notice I'm sure if I could climb in there I could find a lot more spent many years selling and installing

They are. Its the camera. 2 subs sharing the same airspace and port would have no or very little output. Its the frame rate of the camera along with cabin pressure vibrating the camera itself. The only way to make that kind of spl with 2 subs out of phase of each other is an isobaric design, where the subs are mounted cone to cone inside the box on a baffle and the back side of the subs have different airspace from each other.

Something like this is really hard to achieve with the more common elbow style trunk closures..
Wait the trunk is open so in this state it's an open baffle box? Didn't know subs could slap like that without an enclosure but I also don't know much about audio lol.
Some systems are louder in the Cain with the trunk open, but this one was a trunk sealed subwoofer wall so all the pressure was already sealed into vehicle. 👍
The trunk can be open because the back of the box is still enclosed (with an acrylic window)

you're not thinking when you build an upgraded system that requires additional amperage you must use an upgraded battery upgraded wiring and an upgraded alternator I believe that's what this person is asking

There is no such thing as "all I have is two 15's in a massive ported box"
