PHOTO TIPS AT THE DETTIFOSS WATERFALL - Photographing Iceland

There are a few key questions we ask ourselves when the plan is to visit and photograph the Dettifoss waterfall in Iceland. Are we aiming for the typical photo of the waterfall or a more artistic, abstract, closer look? What lenses to use? Do I go to the east, or the west- bank? Is the spray going to the east or west? - and finally, is the road open?
We hope you can take something from this video where we share tips about how we photograph both the Dettifoss and the Selfoss waterfall.
The microphones we mention in the video are the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro B2. Using the mics at the noisy waterfall turned out great! Considering that the noise from the waterfall was so loud we could hardly hear each other, it was amazing the mics would sound fine.

Thank you G&G, great video. I have been here a few times in deep winter with snow an ice, which changes the look of the falls and the access options completely. It's worth noting the walk from the west car park can be magical in winter, knowing you can walk across an empty landscape without intruding on a farmers private land.

Did you use a neutral filter in those conditions with the spray ?

Most of the time we did not use filter, but if we used one, it was a 6 stop ND.
