There are 2 things God could do anything about it. 1st is to twist the free will of human and angelic beings to obey HIM which HE had created. 2nd is God can't change HIS mind or deny HIS own words or oaths whichever He has spoken or taken.

Spurgeon said, “This passage nobody understands, though some think they do. It is for our good to be made to feel that we do not know everything. The point which is clear is that Jesus suffered though innocent, we also must be willing to suffer at the hands of the ungodly.”

I don't believe that passage is speaking of the New Heavens and Earth and the Lake of Fire. Instead, it is a waiting place for the dead to be resurrected for the final judgement. The reason I conclude this, is because we will be given new bodies. As for those in torment, they will be cast into the lake of fire. I don't believe we will be able to see them, because Revelation 21 states there will be no more sin, death or suffering. If we could still see loved ones across a gulf, we would still be suffering for them that perish.

I think sometimes us believers (in the Western world) forget that there are BILLIONS of people in other parts of the world who have never been properly introduced (or introduced at all!) to the Gospel. There are hundreds of millions of Hindus, Chinese communists, African spiritualists, etc. who have never heard the Gospel (and hundreds of millions of Muslims who have been taught, through no fault of their own, that the Gospel is false).
I cannot believe that God truly ONLY gives them a chance in this one life to come to know Jesus (even when they literally cannot come to know about Him in any way, shape or form) and that, if they don't, then that is it for them. I hate the idea (that many Christians seem to love) that we are the few "chosen" ones and everyone else can just suffer and burn in hellfire because they were not lucky enough to be born into a Western Christian country.
This is ridiculous and I'm sure that Jesus, because he died for EVERY SOUL and because he loves EVERYONE (not just you and me as believers), must have some way of reaching that poor North Korean woman in a prison camp, or that young Chinese communist working 12 hours a day in a factory, or that young Hindu man worshipping Kali in Calcutta. Seriously! This makes me so mad that some of us believers seem so happy and quick to condemn the rest of the world and not believe that God, in His infinite wisdom and power, has some way of truly reaching everyone.

@@troywright359 Yes, that’s true, but I really struggle with the idea that 90% of the world population will not go to heaven simply because they were born in the wrong place or time. I mean, that could have been us if we hadn’t been born in a time and place that has the Gospel. In addition, I’ve heard that apparently even believers can have a hard time getting into heaven if they are not fully committed to their faith and doing what they are supposed to be doing.

I'd say it was to show how great God's grace is and to glorify the power of Christ all the more by saving even those who died under the law - because God does not contradict himself in sending His Son to ransom us from the law and thus those who died under the law may have grace/also because God is fair. This is how I see God. I do not believe there are any more second chances... we all have more second chances than we need because of Jesus... I also think God allows righteous people to die and unrighteous people to live because of what is to come...

    • @xavierthomas5835
      @xavierthomas5835 Год назад

Amen and amen brother. You have seen what I have seen that God allows the righteous to perish from the evil that is to come. Also I would say that to those who died Jesus is able to testify of the grace of God because he also died under the law, killing the law. If the law is now dead, and those who walked accordingly have no more righteousness in it, God must needs preach to them also this dispensation of his righteousness, though they already knew, that the name in which they must trust might be made manifest for what it is. Though this could just be one of several ways to look at it, I've found most verses have at least six true ways of seeing them.

Knowing the nature of Jesus, I feel like he died for unbelievers too. When he was persecuted, he spoke of his oppressors, “they know not what they do”. If someone who practices another religion or none at all, they don’t know the importance of Jesus. Say if they lived almost perfect lives and believed something else like Buddhism or Muslim, they’re suppose to suffer an eternity in hell?

Yes, Jesus taught eventual universal salvation:
"I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself." (John 12:32)
"You [God] have given him [Jesus] authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him." (John 17:2)
      These two go together:
"The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand." (John 3:35)
"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out" (John 6:37)

Undeniably, the 1st Peter passage is difficult one to understand with any certainty. For me, it helps to understand that Jesus could not have preached to dead humans. Dead people are "asleep" in Bible language. They are all the way dead, not part dead and part alive. ✴ _His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish_ (Psalms 146: 4, KJV)

Revelation Chapter 22, the last chapter of the Bible, has some intriguing verses:
Rev. 22:14 -- "Blessed are those who wash ('are washing') their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates."
Rev. 22:17a -- "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.'"
Rev. 22:17c -- "And let the one who is *thirsty* come; let the one who desires take the water of life^ without price."
Since believers are accounted for in Rev. 22:17a, the *thirsty* ones in Rev. 22:17c must be non-believers -- those who are outside of the heavenly city in the lake of fire. Who else is there? I believe, with God's help (Malachi 3:2-3), one day they will finish "washing their robes" (that is, being punished and purified in the probably symbolic lake of fire) and then will then be able to enter the heavenly city.
For those who disagree, how you understand these verses?
^The river of the water of life was introduced in Rev. 22:1

Not only with the passage's specific context, but also with the full scope of Scripture we see that there is not much of an indication that there's a "second chance" after death. Consider the parable of the Foolish and the Wise Virgins. The Wise took care of business before the bridegroom arrived. The Foolish did not, and they didn't get a second chance. If there is a Second Chance then that is left to God's Will alone. If that's what he decides to do, amazing, because we want all people to be saved. But we shouldn't try to base sound doctrine on thoughtful suppositions, especially when we have the chance to accept the truth now, and we know it is a guarantee!

  • @tomm6167
    @tomm6167 8 месяцев назад

There will always be an opportunity for anybody to repent:
Rev. 22:17 (ESV): "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price."
Even in the New Heaven & New Earth, repentance will be possible. The only requirement is being thirsty and being non-elect (since the elect Bride along with the Spirit is who is giving this invitation).
Other verses which imply an opportunity for all to repent are Psalm 22:27-29, 65:2-3, 145:10a, Isaiah 45:22-25, John 12:32, Romans 5:18-19, 8:19-21, 11:32,36a, 1 Cor. 15:22,28, Rev. 5:13.
If only one-tenth of the attention was given to Romans 11:32 as is given to Romans 9:22.

Jesus has no need to preach to the damned they already rejected him and received their just reward. Who he went to preached to was those who believed in him, but died with minor sins. You have to take into consideration that they couldn't step over into heaven because
    1. They were still unclean/soul dirty from sin.
    2. The veil hadn't been tourn allowing believers those whose name are in the lambs book of life, to go from one side to the next. So now Jesus truly shows Himself as "the way" to the Father.
The souls had to wait for Him/Jesus to open those prisons and set them free. The souls in the mean time had to go through a period of purgation/cleansing before they could enter the presence of the Father.
Look at it as entering a lobby to a house, where before you go into the main house, you take off all those outer layers of clothes (coat, boots, hat, gloves, scarf) before you enter the main house. The souls had to be stripped of their layers of clothes/sins before they enter into the presence of the Father.
    #purgatory

Chance has nothing to do with being saved at all. Since faith is a gift of God and salvation is all of God and none of mans will or carnal nature, then it is not left to chance for God to accomplish His will that ALL mankind be saved. Why? Because nothing is impossible for God and He declares He will accomplish all His will and all His desires, which is that all be saved. (Isa 46:10 and 1 Tim 2:3-4)

A second chance “at salvation after death”? I would think one should first be asking if BELIEVERS get a second chance. That question has never and likely never will be substantiated because it bases a conclusion upon the “supernatural”. And believing something doesn’t make a something true or fact-based. The supernatural is a realm that lies “outside” the natural order. There is no way to detect it, observe it in action, measure it, test it, etc. There is no instrumentation that can extract ANYTHING from the supernatural realm. And there is no way to confirm a direct causal link between the supernatural and the natural. So to even consider “salvation” after life is a waste of intellectual energy for Anyone.

Hello Paster john , i have life long question. Was the apostle paul , a true apostle? In Genesis , we look , the serpent comes directly after God , and paul comes directly after Jesus and his chosen apostles. We see the serpent says your eyes will be opened, paul was sent to open eyes too. Was paul came after 7 years from the cross , that was time of tribulation of the church, as john said last hour of the anti christ . Paul claims by himself to be an apostle of the true Jesus, with out any 3 witnesses. He claims by himself that he met Jesus . But I really, no one knows if Jesus was revealed to him. The anti christ has wounds that took him till death and healed , then many follow him . What is the wound that was in paul that is mentioned in galatian , he spokes openly the truth , saying you accept me like Christ, do I become your enemy because I speak the truth? He means i am false christ (the truth), but you accept me as Christ (that is the lie) . What is the wound or thorn that is mentioned in Corinthians, is that the thorn of the anti christ , that is mentioned in revelation? The anti christ has a seal , paul said when you accept my gospel you are sealed .
Why paul came by his name , as christ said the opposer will come by his name and you will accept him? all his letters start by his name , he said my gospel too. Why all the churches i asia left him ? Why some apostles rise against him and said the resurrection is passed? Does paul came 3 yrs and half after the cross , and continued his teaching 3yrs and half , then imprisoned? Why pauls teaching is like flood spread to all the world , like in revelation mentioned flood teaching flowed by the anti christ ? Why pauls teaching is mentioned more than Christs teaching by any pastor ?
The true Christ is our foundation. If paul doesn’t teach Christs teaching, he is not worthy of following. If paul doesn’t show , that christs teaching is true , he is false apostle. If he doesn’t lead men to the faith of true Christ, he is false apostle. But i never found any false teaching .
He said christ is revealed to me by himself, he himself is the proof . Even the enemy lies from himself, he is the proof of himself for his lie. In job the enemy stand with sons of God in heaven , paul claims to stand in third heaven , by himself, no body saw him when he go and turn back , like they saw Jesus when he go and truen back too. Anti christ shows himself as christ, the devil shows himself as angel of light, so how can we be sure the true Christ met paul? Paul was captured by the Christ (true or false we don’t know) in gentiles land, why? But all the apostles was from israel land ? Why he is the only apostle who teach we are above the law ? He said , where there is no law , there no transgressions , is this not the lawless one? Who mades no dark and light? No good and bad but all is allowed and lawful? Is that freedom ok ? Its all the generations question. Why there are 12 foundations and 12 names of apostles in revelation? Is pauls name there of not? Is paul really a master builder ? No master builder than christ, no foundation than christ.
We believe in the true crucified Christ, who was on the cross, who chose the 12 apostles. He may be revealed to paul , in Damascus , but We don’t know , how we can be sure? Do you believe the Christ who was revealed to paul is the true Christ? No proof , only blind faith can accept it , as true. We learn a lot from desiring God , and we need a more proof on this question please , thanks!
If christ ask , who told you , i chose paul as my apostle? Paul. Who told you , i sent paul to teach you? Paul. Who told you , paul have my gospel? Paul. Who told you i am revealed to paul Damascus? Paul. Who told you , you are above the law? Paul. Who told you this and that ? Paul. Paul stands as proof of himself. Is pauls teaching and pauls apostle ship and pauls Christ ,….paul himself? Why his apostleship is in question many times , have i not seen Jesus? I am apostle I don’t lie? He says you are my proof that i am an apostle ? He is very careful in his letters , starting by paul apostle of Christ? Why so an so on . I read your book why i love the apostle paul , but we need other book , who is paul ? Is he an apostle? Just before loving him.
We know before Adam was deceived by the serpent who cames to teach after the teaching of God , why paul cames to teach after the teaching of Christ? Christ is the standard of any teaching, we chose christ to be our foundation, not 12 apostles or paul. Even if the 12 apostles or 1 paul , doesn’t teaching of Christ, they have to be rejected. But if they teach Christs doctrine we have to accept them , christ gave authority to the 12, but to paul may be , not sure . We don’t have to look the enemy is coming only , but may came also, normally he build his foundation in genesis just in the beginning with God , even now may be after christ. Shortly who is paul , is he true apostle of true Christ? Tganks

They killed Paul, which is the greatest proof I think, (remember those who hate you hated me first) and if anyone casts out demons in my name do not discourage them, for if they aren't against us, then they are for us. Aswell as Satan cannot cast out Satan but according to the demon, they knew Jesus and Paul. But Paul isn't the anti-Christ I think because whoever doesn't take the seal cannot buy or sell and that wasn't the case for Paul. And God will preserve his Word as seen in revelations, anyone who tries to add or subtract from the Word will be plagued with all diseases written in this book.

The nephilim may explain why they are stated to be from the days of Noah? Maybe it was a proclamation over these?

Check out Dr. Michael Heiser's explanation. It makes perfect sense.

The bigger picture and question is why did God create so very many who ultimately will not seek salvation through Jesus Christ? Why create them in the first place when only a few will be saved?
This in my mind does not seem Godly, in fact it seems more of a man made contrivance of the nature of God. Since man is by nature full of folly, then it is not likely their understanding of God and His doings is also full of folly?
The self proclaimed learned of this world will be as babes before the wisdom of God. So we all should take what they say and teach with a grain of salt. Let us continue in faith, believing we are saved and letting God Himself determine in the end all who will be saved. It may be more than think, so stop being another’s judge!

@@arthurjenkins382 Yes we all will be judged after we die. But following the judgment, the unsaved will be punished and purified in the Lake of Fire so that they can eventually enter heaven. See my post from a month ago for details. God bless!

Once you cast your own son into hell, you are disqualified to represent God. John Piper is a disqualified false teacher. When you die, if you believe in hell, you will be corrected and adjusted. Stop ruing your life on false piety.
