That SP is amazing!!! Where did the endurance bodywork come from? Durbahn? HRC? Is it all Carbon fibre? I wish my Sp2 was half as sorted as this bike. Please let me know. thanks Bill.
Nice SP you have there , I'm rebuilding my SP2 after a very bad crash. I was so lucky to find a HRC frame from wim motors endurance racing team I already bought the frame , new stock fork , stock wheels ... but I'm searching the frontal radiators & also the wiring from hrc or replica. Can you help me ? Thanks & thumbs up for keeping these bikes alive & kicking !
I'm gonna check it for you... My son Patrick made the video and the owner is chief-mecanic at our local Porsche dealer... I know, that he had very good connections to the european Honda headquater in Amsterdam and purchased at least all the special engine parts there... I think, the the frame is also from HRC with SBK specifications... Keep you informed around the weekend... Greetz, JoE
@billyquicksp1 All the parts are from HRC... It's actually built up the same level as Colin Edwards raced it in the SBK series... Frame, rims tyres, shift auto, exhaust, coolers and all the engine parts... You're right, inbetween times these parts are absolutely rarities... HRC produced them for the 2002 championship and Hansi (the owner) had the chance to buy the socalled left-over parts for 2 bikes directly from the Amsterdam headquater... Try to contact HRC for old SBK parts... Greetz, JoE
Excellent. Thanks very much. I'm trying to build an 2002 Edwards rep with either factory parts or copy bits but the HRC kit is almost all gone i think. Real gold dust. Does the castrol bike have a built engine? If so what does it make power wise? (sorry to ask such a noob question lol) I'm debating how much money I should throw at the engin work on my SP. I saw what I can only assume are HRC cams in the vid plus an engine on the bench.
@billyquicksp1 ...and I can try to find out any contact person from HRC Europe's headquater here in Amsterdam for you... I meet Hansi again around the eastern weekend and ask him for any person he knows well there... He is already years involved in that tuning bizz, had a Joey Dunlop RC30 bike with even the magnesia rims (they last only max. 2 years!) before he changed to this VTR1000 monsters... Greetings, JoE
The SP2 was designed specifically to compete against the 916, and it beat it, and then beat the 918 as well. It did exactly what it was designed to do, then they switched to the cbr1000rr when the rules allowed it. This is a track bike. Not a drag bike.

Seriously doubt it Mario the sp2 would
Not be competitive against today's race bikes. The sp2 was competitive against 750cc ( barely). Check your performance numbers
NUBER ONE
