I have 2 330 gallon tanks I use to collect rainwater for watering my garden via an inline pump, electric check/anti-siphon valve, and spray nozzles to each potted plant. I used this method to connect the two tanks last year, but your videos would have helped tremendously with product names and installation tips! Thanks for the upload!!
Just bought a 425 gallon and installed it on my trailer. I need to install bulkheads and plumbing soon. Your vids are super helpful. Subscribed and liked.
Just a guess but maybe easier to install if the tanks could be pulled apart and then mount them. Use SS Hydraulic clamps as well. I've even put 100% silicone on as the lubricant. It takes more time to dry so your work time is longer and it assist in sealing. Works extremely well in vacuum applications.
Just curious, why do you need to plumb the two together? Seems if you want to drain one into the other, they will just equalize with one another. So if one is totally full and you drain it into the other, they will then each be half full. Just curious, great video by the way, thank you.
The reason for using two tanks is to reduce the sloshing of having one larger tank. The water has less room to move around. Also as far as plumbing, there will be a Hudson float at the top. As water comes in, it fills both tanks. Two tanks become one as the water equals between the two by being connected at the bottom. Hope that answers your question. Appreciate the comments and taking the time to watch the video.
@@ExpertPowerWash Yes sir, thank you for the reply. I was under the impression that the water is dumped from the tank so as not to travel with that much weight. I just lost my job and am thinking about starting in this business so I’ve been watching all the videos and doing as much research as possible. You put out great content, keep up the great work!
The best tool for tightening bulkhead assemblies or threaded nipples on connectors is the Rubber style fan belt oil filter wrenches. Another tip is the use neoprene pads under the tanks to avoid rust from the trapped rain water forming on the truck body and its abrasive diamond plate. Or old carpet works well. No matter how the tanks are fastened you'll get movement. I would of used one large baffled tank. Less hardware less worry
Nice video! In my head, I was thinking that if you use a wye with ball valves at each bulk head it would allow for the ability to only use the tank with the feed line and Hudson valve for smaller jobs if both tanks are not needed. You could just turn off the second tank. Do you see a potential problem with a setup as I described? TIA
No problem at all. It fills both tanks. Even at half full, it stops the sloshing when driving. It’s still the same amount of water either way. I wouldn’t waste the time to make it to only one tank can be used. I really don’t know how it would help. I appreciate the comments. Hopefully that makes sense. You do pose some ideas but don’t think it would help.
Hey, Tim! Great Video! I'm glad I ran across this because I have the exact setup with the tanks and I'm about to do all my plumbing work. I'm going to be feedind a 10gpm pw and a 6.5 pw and a gas roof pump off the 2 tanks. Do you have any advice as how to plumb up for the 6.5 pw and the gas roof pump. Thanks, Jeremy
Thinking about doing this to two, 50 gallon tanks. And then having 100 gallon buffer tank per se. They are already affixed to my skid. So why not. Same principle I'm sure.
If you were to do it over again, would you do a 1 1/2 inch or would you go to a 2 inch? What size fittings would you recommend? And how did you plum the top of your tanks? Thanks
Great questions but to reduce answering the same questions over and over again, check out my plumbing videos. There’s some information about my drop sticks. I’m very happy with my plumbing and wouldn’t change it.
Does this only work if the two tanks are the same capacity? I have two rectangular tanks (one 100 gallon and the other 50 gallon). Could I plumb these two together, or should they be the same tank size? Thanks!
Wow!!!! Nice work putting that on. I was wondering how that was gonna work out being so close to each other. and that Hose can be "fiiiesty" (in my steve irwin voice) are those 2 100 gallon tanks? Thabk you for posting im gona try and plumb 3 upright 55 gallon tanks togeyjer like that. U think it will work with 3 55 horizontal tanks?
Thanks for watching! You could definitely plumb three 55s together. Yes they are the Water Dragon 100 gallon tanks from the Power Wash Store. Appreciate the comments and content you are putting out also. You have a great channel. Nice to see a fellow Spray Wash Pro doing great!
I’m looking for 2 100 gallons for my enclosed trailer I just don’t really know how I can mount it to the side walls as I’m nervous the weight will rip them off the walls
Mcmasters Carr also has them. I like them better than Grainger. Gaingers pricing was somewhat hard to deal with. It was like a membership. Not sure if it is still like that or not. But that gives you two sources.
I got a question? My IBC tote soppose to be a 2inch at valve and I bought a sleeve to put on and reduce it down but the 2inch sleeve don’t fit it’s to small, should I go up 2 1/2inch sleeve
I know this comment is a little late to the party but if you will take a thin, rectangular shaped strip of rubber, that’s just a couple inches wide and put around your threads and then grab it with your pliers you won’t have to really worry about marring up the threads as bad

No experience with the gas roof pumps. We run 12 v pumps and really like them. Good luck with your build.
Nice I needed to see that😊
Glad I could help

Need to mount through the floor. I’d use a custom cage. If you were local to us, I’d build you one.
Great video, thanks for the share.
Thank you!
Still loving this water tank Siamese?
Absolutely
Should tanks like these have a breather valve at the top or a tube that goes to the top?
Yes a breather is good
Thanks!!
Thanks for watching
Where did you get the 1.5 inch solid threadedc as well as the 1.5 threaded to barb fittings? No luck at Home Depo
Grainger

Can I use 55 gallon drums? They are extremely cheap. Only $15 dollars for one. I would like your input. Thanks.
Yes a 55 gal would work. Sometimes it just comes down to the way it looks.

Hi there, what size bulkhead are you using here?
We use 1” and 1.5” depending on the build
I may have asked this before, but what kind of tanks are those and where did you get them?
Water Dragon tanks 100 gallon from Power Wash Store
I know this comment is a little late to the party but if you will take a thin, rectangular shaped strip of rubber, that’s just a couple inches wide and put around your threads and then grab it with your pliers you won’t have to really worry about marring up the threads as bad
We’ve been using the tru blue now and loving it. Rubber would work as well.
I was thinking why not loosen the bulk head install the hose and tighten the bulk?
I’m not sure I follow what you are saying
@@ExpertPowerWash loose the bulk heads set them at an angle insert the hose bring the fitting up to place.
Uncut 👍🏼
Thanks!
