Yes, he knew it was his last day, yet had a job to do. Before a battle, birds seen flying to the left is a bad omen. Shaw notices sea birds flying left. He turns around & sees more birds headed left. Thus a noble sadness briefly overcomes him... for he will miss life. In the 1st scene in “Gladiator” before the battle, Maximus notices a lone bird on a reed which then flies off to the right. Maximus smiles knowing that’s a sign they will win.
Colonel R.G.Shaw willingly sacrificed his life for the men of colour that he commanded and lead. He was also proudly buried with his troops and his family supported that this happened despite the apparent shame that the south placed on this. I also love the scene when push comes to shove that Trip is there for Thomas when he is about to faint.

This is absolutely amazing. One of of dreams to be able to recreate this piece like this. Says the sheet music is sold out 😢 is it still available anywhere?
Lovely mockup sir! It seems you and I have both been chiseling away with the Omnimusic Publishing GLORY score, into our DAW since it was released ;) Any chance you can share what virtual libraries you used?
Sir, FANASTIC JOB! I am just getting started with MIDI Mockups. Measures 47-63 must have taken time to synch up, as there is no specified tempo, but it does speed up, and slow down. I hope to see more of your work in the future. Do you want to score music for films?
Thank you , Trevor. Cubase has a function that allows you to tap in a dynamic tempo map. I did this against the score recording to capture the rubato, rallentandi, etc.
@@ikcomposer, excellent. I am just starting to learn Cubase. This cue makes me think Horner used the traditional streamers, punches, and flutters to free time synch the music to the film. Today, this is very rarely done. The strong motivic material that weaves and fits around a scene is just not that much in demand by directors, today.
Heart breaking..I've watched this film a few times and I still cry..I'm not even from America..
🫡🫡
Neither am I.
But I'm not crying...
I salute the steadfast defenders of the fort; it was never taken.
It’s moving. Sadly the black people in America forget or are blind to the fact that white people fought and died for them

They dont make motion art like this anymore....
Top ten greatest war films. It’s just that good.
My favorite scene, not alot of dialog, but so much emotion and expression. Such esprite de corps. Get your Glory, Men!
the price of glory paid with the lives of free men. the debt we carry is outweighed by their sacrifice.
I have made a rule to watch this film once a year. It is that good.
I watch it 3 times or more a month...going on 20 something years...great movie...also I'm hispanic if that matters
This music alone makes me weep. I’ve seen this movie several times and every time I cry. God bless those who fought for freedom then and now 🇺🇸
Why would anyone with a right mind want to erase our past the good and bad what these brave men did black and white can never be erased
"Give em hell 54th "
“Remember what you see here”
There's not a civil war film like Glory. Bravo James Horner
When I watched that movie, I really got sad on the scene he sends the horse away. It was the definitive sign he didn't expect to to back home.
Yes, he knew it was his last day, yet had a job to do.

I still miss you everyday James Horner
I love this movie, it brought me to tears several times. The cast was wonderful.
I always tear watching this ..always good battle 54
that is one helluva mockup of one of the great modern war cues.

Still the best movie in the world to this Day to me
So many brave men died on that day and made a difference in that war.
Best movie in the world my still number one
Lovely mockup! The strings really sound great, same with the french horns
Oh yeah, they were James Horner’s fetish for many of his musical intros and soundtracks
The price of freedom is never cheap.
The music made the scene come alive

Masterfully done! Bravo!
I love this history flim

Acordado. El impacto de la película, y de esta escena en particular, tiene mucho q ver con la partitura.
I remember reading Union intelligence vastly underestimated the troop strength inside the fort.
If this man should fall.... who will lift the flag and carry on?

Damn solid.
One word... Deep 😢

He looks at the ocean cause he knows hes going to die
Awesome
Give 'em Hell, 54th!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful, heartbreaking. I only enjoyed the fact that in reality, their decomposing bodies poisoned the fort's water...

他们都知道,即将战死在战场上,但他们却义无反顾的往前走着。
Siempre he creído que a la banda sonora de "Tiempos de Gloria" le falta un hervor de epicidad.
This is what made the United States of America Great! Period! 💙🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸💙🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸💙
The rebel yells that would've come in at the end always creeped me out. Glad they were omitted here
Why?
They too were brave men. The fort was never taken.
I don’t understand why they didn’t use the site of Ft Wagner to film this scene
If I understand correctly the site of the original Fort Wagner is either underwater or fairly close to being so.
