WHEN MY SPOUSE WAS ALIVE HE WOULD TAKE ME TO SEE FRANKIE BEVERLY AND MAZE IN HOUSTON I WOUKD GET THE FRONT SEAT AT THE ARENA I AM A MUSICIAN AND EVERY NOTE WAS PERFECT! GO TO A MAZE CONCERT YOU WILL ENJOY IT❤❤❤❤!
I've been to 3 of Frankie's concerts. My first was at Constitution Hall, DC 1981 or 2. He had a standing-room audience mesmerized. The Brothers were swirling like the Sisters left to right with our hands out. It was a magical moment. I'll never forget that experience. We were saying Frankie, Frankie swerving even the Brothers, emphatically.
My father loved them. He played them all the time. Then when I saw them live the first time I was 19. I've seen them many times and it got better every time. The grove was beautiful.
Maze was the opening act for P-Funk at The Spectrum in Philly 1977. Maze was excellent...next was Bootsy...next was Funkadelic...then Parliament. The Mothership landing. What a show. Talked about that show for months.
How can a Black man in America stay true to his essence and find joy. Frankie has had ups and downs, but he has not changed who he is. Maze was never acknowledged for their success by outsiders, but whenever he tours which is regularly, WE show up to dance, sing and remember almost 50 years of loving this band. Love y'all for Being and Believing!!
I'm now 70 and still grooving to this same music I listened to on a Saturday morning getting my house together 50 years ago ... I can still feel some of my favorite Frankie/Maze songs take over and make me bust out a move or two -- sometimes with my vacuum cleaner in hand. There are just so few of the true MEMORY MAKERS left. Frankie stayed true and remains the truth! I still have a sweat stained traditional white T-shirt Frankie threw me off stage in Rochester NY just 10 years ago! (haha in plastic bag now) Loved him then, loved him back in the day and that day is still going ... today!
Who cares whether "outsiders" didn't accept Frankie's music. We understood and felt his music in our soul & spirit..How could we not feel it. Frankie sang from his soul & spirit. We Love You Mr. Frankie Beverly & Maze ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is unbelievable this was in 1977 and he sung these songs last weekend at a concert 45 years ago later,,,,Bring tears to your eyes just thinking about how things was in 1977
I don't know if any 70's Babies are bumping MAZE & Mr Beverley more now than ever...My Family truly play this Band just like any other musical Family. I can't get enough of this Band and it's lead singer, whom we just lost. RIP Mr. Frankie Beverley.. You will live on and on and on you and MAZE!!!
I can remember when I first heard this song. I knew it was a huge hit and I've been following Frankie and the gang ever since! Robin, Bug, Roam, Joe, and of course Frankie are a group to be reckoned with!!!! Black is Beautiful!
2024 Frankie Beverly and Maze will do it for me. RIP Mr. Howard S. Beverly but your music will play on my playlist as long as there is music. God needed you. Rest in peace.
Amen. A Beautiful Soul, our beloved Brother, Frankie Beverly,we thankyou very much for your services and Love ❤ Our condolences to your family and they are in our prayers 🙏🙏🙏 RIP 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
This is why Maze featuring Frankie Beverly was selling out venues and didn't even have anything on the radio. It wasn't just a concert, they took us on a journey. They were one of the groups that ALWAYS!! got down just like this. Money's worth ?!!? Good as Maze made us feel it felt like we were almost cheating somebody.
@Kurt Adams I liked the name "Raw Soul" before Marvin Gaye told them to change the band's name because he thought "Raw Soul" was an ugly name. Me, personally, I really liked the name because Frankie and Maze always kept their music real. The band never sold out for the money. They stayed true to their game, and not to the industry's game. 😘 Much respect for "Raw Soul." I still love me some Frankie Beverly and Maze though, either way. 😘
@@brodocbetty4856 I already knew that. Did you not read my comment the right way? If not, please re-read it so you will be able to "overstand" instead of "understanding" what I said.

This moved me to tears, the memories from the first concert I saw in '78 to now, Frankie Beverly with that beautiful voice, he was so so fine, and I will love him forever, may he rest in perfect peace, his music brought so much joy and will live on, I can't believe I won't see him in concert again, he will be sorely missed but never forgotten 😔👑🖤🎸🙏🏽🕊
I had just retired from the group, so no tenor on this one, my apologies to the group, Kenny Young, but McKinley and Rome held the background together.
