The more we get deep into this winter, the more I look for summer through my videos and memories.
Welcome to Terrasini, a lovely town that became our summer home for us over the last couple of years.
The coast is beautiful and it’s possible to see planes landing while taking a swim down at the Praiola beach.
After a few hours under the sun, nothing is better than Albertini’s handmade ice cream and, right before the sun sets, a great aperitivo at the Ouh La La bar!
I recently discovered that my family is from Terracini. This was a great video to see.
So happy you liked the video! Terrasini is so beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the images.
Very beautiful town
Lovely place!
Love it there,
Love Terrasini too!
My Great Grandfather is from Terrasini never knew him but would love to go.
This is a very charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!
Thank you so much for your comment! Terrasini is beautiful!
Nice channel yours, just subscribed!
@@TheSicilianWanderer hello there and thanks for your kind words and for subscribing, l did the same with your fine channel! Stay safe!
Grazie for the small snapshot of this place. I looked up this town because I am Sicilian American, my paternal grandfather (I did not know him, only stories) grew up in Terrasini and he migrated to the U.S. over 100 years ago, I think he was about 17 years old. He eventually settled in Gloucester, Massachussetts and he was a deep sea fisherman (before that he was a young fisherman in Terrasini, so he carried over the experience). Gloucester has had a large Sicilian immigrant population from that time period, it is also the town that movie The Perfect Storm was about.
I know at some point whenever I travel internationally again, I will come to Terrasini. I used to live by the southern California coast line and on my lunch breaks I would drive to the beaches especially the ones with rocky little bays just like in this video, and swim and explore and climb. I would hope to go to Terrasinni and do the same thing, I'm sure the frutti di mare must be pretty good too. The one thing I don't know is if I would try to locate distant relatives, since the language barrier might be difficult to overcome, and it would also depend if my family name there (Branca ... leone!) is now rare or common.
What a story, thanks a lot for sharing it!
The young generations tend to speak English here, it might not be flawless but it’s a start.
I hope you’ll be able to visit Terrasini and reconnect with your family soon!
Plenty of Brancaleone(s) in Terrasini and the nearby towns. Your story make so much sense. Gloucester alone was made of plenty of emigrants from this little gem town. Let's have a chat and let's see what the history holds for you
Proud to see the Irish flag. Blessings.
Lucky enough to have two homes ❤️
I live in this town!
Great place, love it!
