Bro I listen to these beats and literally just burst out laughing because my mind doesnt know how to react so it just results in laughter. This shit is incomprehensible dawg lol
During this era he was experimenting with minimal sampling because of neptunes and Timbaland. Luckily he went back to sampling since I really don't think timba nor neptunus style of producing is that great. It works for club bangers with artists singing on top tho.
#4 was missing I always thought I was tripping but it’s uploaded under the name rock songs. These tapes were a blessing of an upload thank you so much and of course thank Jay Dee this is the pioneer in his (kind of) prime
Creativity is missing nowadays when it comes to producers, Dilla brought creativity n individuality to the game. Put it to you like this, if you got folks like Kanye stealing your beat tapes to duplicate your sound, n you got beat Gods like Pete Rock, Questlove n Pharell praisin u, then surely you got to be on some new level type shit. DILLA LIVES!!!!!
What makes me laugh is that at this time him and Madlib shared this sort of nastiness in beats that almost make u paranoid cuz that shit tickle ya ear and got 808s and bass lines panning back and forth . Make u feel like u trippin sometimes
You perfectly describe why I love these producers so much. I call it Ruff, rugged and Raw. Only these two producers can create such energy, with Pete being their teacher and inspiration of course.
