The thing is, this is in a parking lot and it's close to perfect.
The mixing job is so good!
Absolutely perfect
On a restaurant patio actually
Fixed in post - masterful results
@@johndbrock4375 the parking lot was directly behind them
Maggie and Sammy work well together. As do everyone in this group! I was never a big Go Go fan, but this is so darn good!!! Thanks you all
Go- Gos have it on their playlist of favorite Go-Gos covers.
I have listened to this video numerous times and I am still amazed at the perfect
synchronicity in the girls voices.
This video, like many others demonstrates the value of technical excellence in enunciation and synchronicity. Also, a world class bassist is always on time , drives the tempo and disappears.....Scott King was definitely a world class bassist. They don't make many like him.
Amen!
Yeah.........................................
Tim and his beautiful girls in perfect tune and Fossils outstanding. Take another bower team. Love from Australia.
We were out shopping today when the GoGos version was played over the store public-address system. My wife grimaced with displeasure. I said, "When we get home, you can hear the Foxes from nearly a decade ago." We got home, I handed her the headphones, and she listened. The she listened to the GoGos music video. Her verdict: "No question, the girls were much better and the Fossils delivered better instrumentals next to the parking lot than the the music video recorded in a zillion-dollar studio."
This was mixed in a studio also
f & f have a better picker, 1000% better WIN
You may be up for the Most Literate RUclips Comment of 2023. Hell, you might even win for Most Literate Comment in RUclips History. Hang in there, and by 2035, you may win for the Only Literate Comment of 2035. Of course, by then, everybody will be illiterate, so I don't know who you could get as the judges.
It's good...don't get me wrong, but nowhere as good as The Go-Gos.
The girls are good, but then the fossilized dude starts doing his woo hoos and it goes to pot.
I absolutely loved how at about 45s, a young girl by stage left pulled her chair up closer to the band!! ☮️💕
Bassist Scott (RIP 2022) revealed it was the restaurant manager’s daughter.
@@John_Hazeldene lovely!! 💕💕💕
I come back to these guys singing their hearts out regularly for the sheer enjoyment of hearing them. my fiance died from cancer last week and I'm justvterying to find little lifts at the moment. the music of the brach boys and a group of people doing an amazing job of replicating it helps a little.
I'm back to share more. Driving home from the Post Office, this song got into my head in bits and pieces. I had never heard this song before you guys did it...even though it was probably 3 years ago when I first heard it. Anyhow, just listened to the Go-Go's and you got them beat by a mile! Really incredible harmony- Sammie and Maggie sound nearly identical together! Did I mention you were cute? Anyhow, I guess this song has now logged into my memory bank and I will only hear F&F doing it in my head. Thanks so much!
Love that they look like they are having fun while performing.
This is an example of the fact that you can be sitting in any small venue and see world class talent.
This is the best cover I've ever seen of this song. RIP to Terry Hall of The Specials, who wrote this with Jane Wiedlin.
Here we go again. I was going to listen to Harvest Moon. That was two hours ago !
Yeah, I've listened to this a good few times and then came back to hear again. Love this version of the song.
This is an example of exceptional talent. A professional musician, his daughter, top level musician friends. The stars aligned on this one.
Man, the timing and harmonies. On point
Been listening to this group for over ten years and it still amazes me the magic between these two girls!
I'm sorry, but it doesn't get any better than those two young ladies singing this song together. Seriously, it's perfection. Every single time RUclips shows it as a recommendation, I'm clicking. Thanks for entertaining us all these years! God bless!
Sorry, but Belinda isn’t there. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@sludge8506 Hi, I think you have the wrong comment
@@K3mbusm Sorry, Michael, I have the correct comment.
I guess you’re right. It would have been a better video if Belinda had been there watching them perform.
@@K3mbusm Of course, I am just giving you the business.
The video is fantastic!!! 👍👍👍
Without a doubt the best over band I've ever seen! when you consider the wide range of songs they perform' and they look like they really enjoy what they're doing.
Six dozen of these videos, I've seen them all 50 to 500 times each, but this one still keeps coming back to me as the best one showing everyone having fun from beginning to end. Even Toby is smiling. The girls get the spotlight, but Scott and Johnny hold this down like two-foot spikes hold a tent down in a gale, while Tim is simply having a blast!
I just can't wrap my head around how these two ladies can harmonize with such perfection. This song really exemplifies that.
Look at the glances they share with each other
Three ladies!
That's what you get when you grew up singing in church choirs together. As any 60s girl group singer can attest to. Best vocal training there is for youth.
@@mowdiewart3110 Eventually, but this is 2011, before Chase came along.
This was mixed in a studio
This is probably the 30th time that I have watched this . My favorite part begins " hush my darling...." , that is magical .
Great when they both basically have the lead vocal. plus they way they seamlessly break into harmony and then back to unison
*Everything Foxes and Fossils touches sounds better than the originals!* 😍❤🧡💙💜
There's something very special about the way that the two voices of the ladies work together. I think they must both have excellent musical ears, as well as superb voices.
this is not a cover!this is a magnificent upgrade!!!!!!
True! So many covers they do are upgrades!
I think they can sing anything!!
Love it when the girls are smiling when they are singing. Tells me that their hearts are in it and not just going through the motions.
Notwithstanding the greatness of Belinda Carlisle and the rest of the Go Go's, this version, in my opinion, is the very best recording of this song.
It’s not easy getting that Belinda and Jane harmony down, but they manage to do it
& by a 16 and a17 y/o at that!😆
Pretty damn good by a couple of teenagers-16 & 17 years old.
Sorry, im not going to let you get away with that. Fun Boy Three version of - Our Lips are Sealed (co written by Terry Hall (FB3) and Jane Wiedlin (GGs) after they had a fling. Is a fantastic version and is done very differently. That's not to say its better but it's very hard to compare as they are so different. FB 3 version has a completely different vibe.
Lovely performance. Had to smile at Maggie's fan pulling the chair up close right in front of her.
Scotts little buddy, the daughter of the restaurant owners so always at these gigs. He liked to tease her.
I always liked this song when the Go-Go's did it. Now I love this song. F&F nailed it!
The GoGos loved it. Its on their official YT , playlist of favorite covers
The foxes seem especially happy singing this “girl powered “ song. Love it!
Maybe the best F&F video ever: complete spontaneous combustion ...en fuego. No inhibitions. The connection of all members, the lighting, the joy on their faces, the 'Foxes' at their foxiest, etc. Sammie was TOTALLY free in this one.
The smokes coming out of Tims ears with a smile from ear to ear the chemistry between Sammie & Maggie is just unbelievable this is a well oiled machine they all love there craft
Those girls are blending in and out of unison immaculately! This band is awesome!
so great
Almost can't tell it's two voices. Not even the expected chorus or dbl-tracking effect, they are incredibly accurate.
This was mixed in a studio, it’s not how it sounded in the parking lot
@@Ck-zk3we Were you there?
@@snidelywhiplashNo secret that it was remixed in studio.Tim has described the process elsewhere. Then he had to match it to the edited 3 camera video.
2:09 A little Dad-daughter bonding going on, feeding off each other's joy of the moment.
Co-written by Jane Wiedlin, guitarist of the Go-Go's, AND Terry Hall, singer of the Specials and Fun Boy Three. 🙂
This group absolutely nails it every single time. EVERY TIME !!!
My good friend told me yesterday how much he loves "this great band from Atlanta". I said, F&F? He's like, yeah! I got to say: I been a huge fan since 2016.
Those girls are gorgeous 😍
Great cover of this song 👍
June 2020 . 62 year old fossil dancing to this in my living room , hope you all are too .
Lol...so is this 61yr old🤣They're awesome!
@@barbarataylor2258 do not know
Tough guys don't dance.
This has to be one of my favorites of Sammie and Maggie with facial expressions and body language, love them both!
They can do no wrong!!!
Tim hit the jackpot when he teamed up his daughter with Maggie. You’d be hard pressed to find two more charismatic young ladies. Let alone in the same group.
He`s a living legend, for putting the band together, arranging the songs, and for having the foresight to record all this fantastic music, thanks again Tim !!
Tim is a genius!
Yes. The stars aligned just right with the ladies AND the rest of the very talented musicians in this band.
sorry, Tim's daughter is Samantha, the blonde not Maggie
Their voices compliment each other - like Abba. The effect is stunning.
i was thinking the same thing there harmony is like ABBA very rare you get that kind of angelic harmony .
So in sync they blend into one.
speaking of ABBA ... time for an ABBA cover
I have always thought that Maggie is much like Frida with her incredible voice control and angelic Mezzo sound. It's mesmerizing. Check out her rendition of the Beach Boy's, "Don't Worry Baby" and you will know what I mean. ruclips.net/video/8HzOQQ32Vsw/видео.html
@@cambium0 I totally agree. Sammie and Maggie could do ABBA.
The bass is locked in on this tune. A true pro player.
RIP Scotty
This band is damn good...every single member.
These girls absolutely NAILED this!
But dad is cringy as fuck and when he sings with the girls his tone fucks everything up.
Springwood Slasher Have you heard his unison with Sammie on Seven Bridges Road? It’s not creepy, it’s just plain spooky!
Singing harmonies well is a talent, but their singing perfectly in unison is just spectacular. I was (am) a big Go-Go's fan and they were/are a superior band live. This is not my favorite song of theirs, but this rendition was really really good.
@ThumperOne im a sound engineer and have been setting up shows since the 90s but I don't know shit right?
They didn't "nail" diddly shit. This is a doctored version. This is not what it sounded like live. They took the recording of the live performance and cleaned it up so it would sound better. Oh, and there aren't tandem lead singers of this song in the real version by The Go-Gos.
Great musicians, outdoor setting, folks out dining enjoying themselves.
This is the America I love.
as good as it gets.
I only discovered F&F at the start of 2022. Watched all of their videos, many multiple times. All are good, most are excellent, but I think this is my favorite. The joy and the smiles from all of the band just leaps off the screen every time.
The lovely and talented Johnny Pike was an absolute BEAST on this one! :)
In all the Go-Go's versions, Belinda sings the verses solo. I'm a Go-Go's fan myself, but on this song, with these lyrics I find I prefer the Maggie and Sammie duo over a solo Belinda. This is just a damn fine performance of a well thought out arrangement of a great song, which is sort of the F&F trademark. Kudos to all.
The Go Gos have this cover on their official YT channel, along with F&F's "Vacation" cover.
Am so glad that this moment is captured by YT forever. Just makes me happy. I keep returning to this one.
I can't believe how every detail including bass is spot on and the harmonies
Listened to this many, many times now. Always brings a smile to my face as this is one where all the parts come together for a fantastic rendition! The girls with perfect harmonies, Johnny and Scott laying down the beat, Toby perfectly inserted guitar, and Tim with his backing vocal.
The drummer contributes a lot to this band. Good drummer!
Johnny Pike. A really, really fine drummer. Check out all the band members: foxesandfossils.com
True. He doesnt overwhelm everybody.
@@joeking9061 Which is what any drummer should care about.
bass players not too shabby either. tight tight band.
Cover bands are so much fun. Kinda blown away.
I don't know if I said it before but I love the way these people do this song. The the young ladies are phenomenal!
Those two girls sing unison its almost like one voice. So alike!
The girls voices BLEND PERFECT !!!
Wow, the girls, and in fact the whole band, are so tight together. Great timing.
These girls absolutely NAILED this!
The dad is so happy and proud it’s unbelievable awesome band the energy on this song is just fantastic good on you guys
I will always love the concerts on the curb.
Many of their covers, I know very well, often because I played them once. But this I had never heard before and it's become a firm favourite. Great tune, great vocals and great chord sequence. I really need this in my library!!!
Listening to this in Nov 2020....lockdown Cape Town , South Africa. Woww, awesome band beautiful beat and stunning voices from these young ladies....Tim Purcell, you brilliant. Great band....playing this multiple ..😎😎😎
The unison between the girls is fantastic. It gives a super effect. Plus I think they are glowingly beautiful!
@@GeeBee135 Hat off. It is. I think it is what makes this cover so magic.
Maggie and Sammi - two angels. That drum bridge from the chorus is perfect! Beautiful job.
I love the way the little girl in the audience pulls her chair closer to watch. A high quality music convert in the making I hope.
Scott said she was the daughter of the restaurant owner so was always at these gigs. They were buddies, he liked to tease her.
@@lynwessel2471 Well she must be quite grown up now and I hope loving Foxes & Fossils as much as I do. Thanks for the reply.
Almost ten years ago exactly. Pardon me while I add this to my favorites list !
I liked when the little girl sitting in the first row moved her chair even closer to the band and sat there. Really cute! :-)
ranatlas That is the daughter of the owner of the Twisted Taco. I can’t remember her name, but she was cute and definitely a fan!
@@lavmi79 That was Olivia, the oldest of the four. She was my buddy!
Scott King That’s right! I remembered she was your groupie!
@@lavmi79 Groupie is kind of strong for a ten year old!
You can tell by watching, the Foxes LOVE this song. They are having too much fun...
These ladies are great the moment they began to sing to was transported back to the eighties when i wore a younger man's clothes
I saw the Gos Gos live at the Keystone Palo Alto in CA in 1981 right before they hit the big time. Fox and Fossils did a great cover of vocals and music. Some guys have a thing for lady drummers. Some great 3 chord music.
eight years later still love it
Like wow this Irresistible cover version is radiantly filmed and dazzlingly performed.
They sing so well together. There is nothing they can't sing. Bought their CD'S tonight off their web.

I second that emotion! Happy Anniversary!
rare outside in a dinner type refreshment setting....just awesome
Is it wrong that my favorite part is when dad comes in with the Whooo Ooooh Oooo? Anyway, great performance, love the Go-Go's, love these girls.
The girls are so cute and animated and, of course, so talented.
Still one of the best covers I've ever heard.
this is the best cover band I have ever heard
I think so, but have a look at "Bandgeek", too. (True, they work in studio ...)
Their cover of 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes' by CSN is PREPOSTEROUSLY good. ;o)
Unreal. Every single one of these guys are top notch. And those girls, on this and Vacation, have nailed Belinda Carlisle’s voice. If I closed my ether, I would swear that it was the Go Gos. Thanks.
“Hit it John!!” Absolutely love that ! Maggie’s little head bob/weave is great too. Love the way M and S blend so well. ( Have said it before; reminds me of Agnetha and Frida’s vocal blend) Do think Sammie in the lead here is perfect. Didn’t think too much about this song except it was a good dance tune when I was much younger; BUT; now this is a favorite go to tune cuz of your rendition. All around 👍🏻thumbs 👍🏻Way up!!!
"Reminds me of Agnetha and Frida’s vocal blend". Same recipe, same talent, same success.
It's all part of the magic!
Im speechless. Nobody does such an eclectic bunch of covers. Incredible. You could be a house band anywhere.
Love John's drum flourish at 2:21 and Scott and Toby's reactions
That's a rare smile from Toby. Hes usually a stone face back there. Totally focused on his music. An exceptional guitar player
i can listen to this version all day long sorry,
Greetings from Ras al Khaimah, UAE!! I arrived here after looking for the Fun Boy Three version, but this beats that and the Go-Gos hands down. Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
Click on their round picture above.A huge list of great music.
back for more!!!
Scott King laying that bass down.... "I can't stop my leg!"
What perfectly delicious harmonies ! ❤
I've become a BIG fan of these fossils(and foxes). They nail _EVERY_ song they do.
I looooove this group !!!! I am a Fossil ...musicain 62 years old ...got young girlfriends but no singers like this !!!! Wow !!!!
I love the foxes hair back then!! Do it again!!
I love Tim's vocals coming out of the bridge...I think Jane does it in the original, but Tim's 'Beach Boys'-esque part is perfect...This version is perfect!
I agree...I was looking around trying to see WHO was singing that note..."Wait, what? Hey, it's neither of the girls...OH, IT'S TIM!!!"
Pretty sure it's Charlotte singing that part, at least from what I can tell from their live performances. Jane is singing "hush my darling" through the outro. I think. Maybe.
Foxes and Fossils reminds me of that feeling of finding treasure at the end of a long, arduous dungeon...they're a prime example of why I search for music. Definitely a breath of fresh air that needs and deserves more airplay. Bravo!
"Definitely a breath of fresh air". You nailed it.
I just can’t get tired of watching and listening to this one. Great harmonies and such enthusiasm!
Yeah, the pretty much nailed this one.
Right there with ya.....spot on !
Excellent music ship... very tight band
858k views and counting- Well deserved. My favorite F&F video and I have a lot of favorites of theirs. Never gets old.
Maggie and Sammie are so young here. I'm amazed at how talented they were and still are. Just watched a cover of harvest Moon a few days ago WOW!!!!
Just wanted to say you guys are incredibly fantastic. It's not often I stop what I'm doing when I run across a cover on RUclips and comment like this. Very rare. You guys sing with perfect pitch and tone. Just stunning. SO glad I found you guys on here. I am in the Tampa area and I'd LOVE to see you guys live. Jesus Christ you guys are GOOD!
Awesome, everyone is killing it here and kudos to the drummers embellishments.
John's after the beat drum roll is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!
Superb. Just discovered F&F.
