Hey, since you're here, Cities:Skylines team- Speaking of access- She alluded to elevators and access being a crucial part of city design, and as a wheelchair user, I couldn't agree more. Someone created a Cim mod who is a wheelchair user, but I would LOVE to see that, and other nods to accessibility, in the game. I LOVE Cities: Skylines, but I am always left with the feeling that I would NEVER be able to live in any of the cities I create, because, for example, there are zero curb ramps. You would be the first game to implement what so many people see as a vital part of city planning.

NY looks like that because of policy. Imagine if the game would adapt the looks of all your buildings depending on your policy. With AI new buildings cuold be make to naturally obey your policy. You could recreate any countries look and create new incredible looks. All red buildings with green roofs and a must have antena for example. Im no programer but If that is posible people would spend lifetimes playing the game.

I hope we get more stuff to do with trains, like for passenger trains, metro, and trams we can have a global fleet instead of deciding the amount of trains on a per line basis and then we can upgrade the fleet and slowly roll out the new trains as a form of like testing them so that’s mean we’d also have to get failures that have to do with trains, and then also have to build a train yard in order to store the fleets whether you want to make your own rail yard or have an asset, also more stuff to do with cargo trains like also having to build rail yards for them to store train cars and have shunting trains that organize them and then also have the ability to connect businesses to a cargo line so they can receive deliveries by train as well as by truck, also having network multi tool and find it built into the game would be great

Your idea of passive multiplayer would be difficult to pull off if the cities in a region aren't synced timewise, but any level of interaction would be great. I don't think they will do it, but a persistent, no pause multiplayer would be awesome. You plan out your road network, zoning, etc... and then it takes a few hours/days to build it. You could play for a few minutes a day and have multiple cities on a server that you update when you are on. It wouldn't replace the main single player mode, but it would make an interesting DLC.
Interaction between these cities could be massive. Every player on a server is competing for the same population, resources, etc... Perhaps even for the same land. Players could compete for perks, such as a large company deciding to build their headquarters in the region. Who will get the contract? The possibilities are endless. Just not sure if CO or players' computers are ready for or capable of such a resource intensive experience.

Nice! I pretty much had the same thoughts but not in advance - it's hard to make out some favorite, however I got some more things on my bucket list for you to add as wishes or hopefully predictions:
    - As being an aviation nerd: airports and air traffic behavior should be more realistic than it is in C:S1 because not everybody likes to ride a rollercoaster on approach and clogged airports with 1 person per aircraft ;)
    - Synchronization of times: C:S1 uses like 4 different time systems for transportation speeds, Cims lifetime, progress of day and time of day. The weakest spot here is transport as it moves with 2x speed of real life while clock is running out
    - Deciding if a transportation service is public or "government" controlled or private. This would reduce micro management if wanted. As an example bus services could act as private companies taking care of dispatching vehicles and routing by still paying taxes OR one can take full control like in C:S1 with all consequences (maintenance costs, setting up lines...). However these "companies" shall ask the city whenever they want to set up a line which then can be altered or approved ;)
    - More carefully balanced limitations (as they will always be there). Please don't use "citizen instances" for instances which are not citizen related and are just visual (seagulls or dummy traffic like in C:S1)
    - Upgradeable roads to include power cables, water and sewage and heating pipes for a higher cost but ease of use (heating pipes could also include the NYC style Steam release on intersections ;)
    - Individual lanes on networks so we don't have to try hard using node controller to create nice looking intersections
    - addition to your accidents mentioned: greater effect of maintenance - networks in general should require it, lack of it will increase the risk of accidents to happen as well as congestion. Get prepared for derailments on congested routes which are not maintained! Not to mention Dr. Vu ;)

Most of what you said is stuff most of us are also hoping for... And you had a couple ideas that were kinda neat I hadn't thought about... However there was some stuff in there that should ONLY be options based... Like the traffic accidents. NO THANK YOU... For people that want it, a HOLY CITY & TEAR IT UP set of options would make sense.
ALL OF IT, however is irrelevant to me. My love for this company is gone and they'll need to EARN it back.
2 things above all else.. QUIT SABOTAGING CITIES 1 ON THE WAY OUT BY ADDING USELESS BLOAT WE DON'T WANT OR NEED THAT IS SUFFOCATING LESSER PC'S. (and they know what they're doing) AND FIX THE TRAFFIC AI FOR SKYLINES RIGHT NOW,
AND 2 MAKE THE TRAFFIC AI, AND RAM/CPU/GPU USAGE IN CITIES 2 THE KEY FOCUS. PUT ALL THE EYE CANDY AND ASSETS/PROPS IN THE WORKSHOP. PUT THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION THAT RUNS IT ALL, INTO THE BASE GAME THIS TIME. INSTEAD OF A DUMBED DOWN AND VERY INCOMPLETE VERSION OF THE GAME RELYING ON MODS TO MAKE IT FUNCTION AT ALL ONCE YOU START BUILDING. LOL
AFTER 8 YEARS OF SPENDING MORE TIME HELPING THEIR EMPLOYEE/MODDERS BUILD AND FIX AND TEST AND DIAGNOSE THEIR MODS THAN PLAYING THE GAME, MONTH AFTER MONTH, THEY HAVE THIS UNDESERVED AND ARROGANT ATTITUDE TOWARDS US. CONSTANTLY ACTING LIKE WE'RE NOT GRATEFUL ENOUGH DESPITE HOW MUCH TIME WE WASTED HELPING THEM, AS UNOFFICIAL AND UNPAID TESTERS BECAUSE WE WANTED TO HELP MAKE THIS GAME BETTER. JUST SO THEY COULD TAKE ALL THAT HARD WORK ON OUR PARTS AND PUT THAT INTO A SEQUEL WE PROBABLY WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY ON OUR EXISTING PC'S... AS IF WE DON'T EVEN DESERVE THE BASIC TOOLS WE HELPED THEM BUILD THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN CITIES SKYLINES FROM THE BEGINNING... IT'S LEFT A VERY BITTER TASTE IN MANY OF OUR MOUTHS.

My wishlist for CS2 now that it's been announced:
    1. Construction animations for buildings and roads, but in the case of roads, construction should actually affect traffic while a road gets built, and affect sidewalks or local roads for buildings as they're built. Think of a highway interchange being built and how it tends to cause traffic jams in real life.
They also kept showing alot of construction animations in the trailer, so I hope animations similar to those make it into the game, especially like where it showed that park through seasons.
    2. Advanced Traffic Control tool, like TMPE but with a few more features that allow lane and road closures, marking detours, and lots of traffic control devices like cones, barrels, delineators that could direct traffic flows while that massive highway interchange is built one phase at a time.
Also traffic accident events that are responded to by emergency vehicles sound like they'd make the game more lived in.
Also sharper highway ramps that look more realistic.
    3. Advanced Lot Zoning tool that would allow the creation of dynamic lots that can be almost any shape, even triangular, the zoning tool could allow subdivision of blocks into their own lots using some kind of tool, or merged by the "city" (the player) into one big lot.
Whether a building is plopped, or grows naturally, they should all have construction sequences that take time to finish before they're usable.
(Oh, and zones need to extend much more than just 4 tiles away from the road, though I hope the new zoning might be tied more with the roads themselves than a grid, especially if CS2 is aiming to be the "most realistic city builder ever".)
Residential and Commercial zones should have a medium density like in SC4, while also maintaining zoning specializations.
Hotels could be a subtype for commercial zones.
Office zones should have Low and Medium densities instead of just one density that has all office buildings in the game.
For Residential: splitting Low density into single-family homes, semi-detached homes, and small apartment buildings.
For Industrial: they would probably need to be split into their own specializations, and some types of buildings like factories would require large amounts of land.
Different densities would also affect type of industry, like
    I-1 agricultural and small warehouses
I-2 warehouses, intermodal facilities and distribution centers.
    I-3 manufacturing and chemical storage.
    and I-4 mining and refineries.
Mixed use zones should be a mixture of commercial, office, and residential, and exclude industrial.
    4. More advanced Area Tool
Areas could be anything from a Port, to a District, or even an entire City area itself.
Instead of drawing them and filling them in with the round tools, just click on one spot then a few more, and then finalize by clicking on the first spot again to create an area's shape, and then name it and designate what type of area it is.
The borders of areas could snap to nodes of other areas or roads.
Districts would also only be able to be built within a city area.
    5. Land Developer Mode that would allow designing of entire areas of buildings at once for a large gated suburban community, public housing project, a large corporate office complex, shopping mall, or just really tall skyscraper.
    6. More realistic and dynamic Natural Disasters. Also, I hope water is also more realistic with how it flows over terrain, and less "lets just casually walk away from this sewage tsunami heading right for the city", and "you just reclaimed some land, time to flood your entire city".
I supposed I'll have to throw seasons in here, with the seasons also affecting certain disasters.
Also the addition of Hurricanes, blizzards, and other disasters would be interesting.
    7. Better time progression that also shows different vehicles and architectural styles based on the in-game year.
I may have left a few ideas out, idk.

Last year we went through the same hype and all we got was Cities VR and DLCs for the first game. So don't get your hopes too high.
What I wish for CS2 if it ever comes out: All Current DLCs and CCPs integrated (that's whishfull thinking they'll make us start from scratch as cash grab most likeky); bigger node limit so we can build bigger cities. Traffic Manager President Edition style traffic system and all mods for road and infrastructure building by default into the game, modular public transit assets others than just airports. (bus, train, tram and metro stations that can be expanded at will and connected into the same space like a real one). Mixed use buildings. That's about it.
I think the ultimate upgrade they coule make is to make modular roads from the get go, when you build a road, you configure it as you need, number of lanes on each side, tram, bikes, parking... That way the interface would be less cluttered. (kinda like what Transport Fever does) And real parking areas/parcades, garages, underground or overground would be nice (even if I'm a public transit centrist, having airports or industrial zones without proper parking lots is stupid.
Of course Move It kind of feature would be a must have, because game restrictions can be very bad for your blood pressure.
Stairs, elevators and escalators could be a nice asset as well for some complex areas.
