Today, Trevor and Tayte are testing the difference between the PING i230 and PXG GEN5 Iron. The PING i230 is new to the Embers showroom and supposed to help hit the ball further. Watch as they both test each club and review the data. They will talk about how it feels, the data, and the appearence.

Great review! thanks. Tomorrow I have a full bag fitting at PXG, and currently I play with some borrowed shorter PING rapture irons. Now I'm curious to try the i230s since I really like the Pings! The hybrids and iron are Ping G20. Trevor you have a resemblance to Viktor Hovland!

Love the channel guys! My kind of reviews! I’m a 9 hcp as well, hard to judge a club when you stripe it out the middle every time! I need to know what it does when us mortals are having a bad day not when a scratch or plus hcp golfer is a bad day. Keep em coming boys, you just got yourself another subscriber!

That is a good review and interesting to watch, like that you have some of the same struggles as the rest of us. I am tall and also have 1/2" extended clubs so I like that added aspect of someone tall like me with when it comes to club fitting and differences in the swing. Will stay tuned to see what is next.

I wanted the PING i230s and went to The Golf Warehouse to build my custom fit irons on their site, and with only 7 irons (5-UW) with the shafts I like and grips I want, it comes to $1600 bucks, that's CRAZY, SO in a month I have a FULL BAG fitting with PXG for the 0211 XCOR2 lineup at $1999, that's 14 clubs, WITH bag !!!
A person would be crazy not to spend $400 MORE for a full bag, that is all fitted to YOU!
It's my Retirement Present to ME after 45 years of being an Automotive Paint Refinish Technician....LOL

Love I'm getting reviews from a golfer that is in the same handicap as I am. Thank you for that (Long time HotRod fan myself, met him twice back in the day in Portland, Or). Those numbers should tell you that the Ping work better for you. Just as My P790 's did better then my PXG's. Now the biggest question I have, what great adult beverage are you sipping on?

I play the 0311 T (gen3) and demoed the i230 a month ago. My initial impression was "the ping feels more like my pxg than any club i've ever tried"

I like the channel as well. So 9 handicap was very consistent - good results. High Handicap can't really compare the clubs because he swung the Ping (I'm a Ping guy BTW) clubs a lot faster. Something was vastly different for you to increase your swing speed like that.

Just got me a set of gen 5’s.. I love the black label elite! I had the gen 4 as well but am super excited about gaming the black label elite.

It's possible. The ping make some great irons. You'll have to stay tuned for the "Whats in the bag" video that will be coming out soon.
PXG seems to be more forgiving.
