I was just assigned a Kenworth and was curious what kind of fridge would fit in that space and how easy it would be to install it myself. Thank you very much for uploading this video. I have seen a few comments where you suggested to call Kenworth to get the fridge type and measurements, so that's what I'll be doing! :)
I believe the model is in one of the comments. I know the fridge from Kenworth is expensive. I’m back in my volvo now. I have a basic Walmart mini fridge in this one. Then I just plug it into my power inverter. I’m assuming you can replace the fridge 5-6 times from Walmart or Amazon for the price of what Kenworth will want.
@@TruckingLife - I called the nearest Kenworth dealership to my terminal and was told they were sold out as I was the third driver to call in asking for the mini fridge information. I was told that since I have an inverter that I should be able to put in any mini fridge that will fit in the space allotted for the fridge. Fingers crossed that the mini fridge I ordered will fit! :)
@@brittanih9126 that exactly what I would do then. I don’t think those fridges Kenworth is using are made to last. We had both of ours covered under warranty in the first year. I hope it works for you as well. I know how rough it is not having one.
sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
Just bought one of these from Iowa 80...I have a dumb question..does the black cardboard on sides..back and top stay on? Or is supposed to be removed before installation? I am assuming it stays on and is maybe part of the insulation.
Where do I buy the other end of the plug. The refrigerator came with a plug(chord) but not the end u tie into the truck.I guess it will be called a mating plug not sure.Where do I buy it and what’s the correct name and part number. Thanks in advance
Everything was so helpful but I can't figure where the main source of power is coming from to the fridge like I installed mine and everything is connected but main wire has no power is it connected to he battery's or a fuse
@@marimavu you can find the plugs at a AutoMechanic shop or truckstop. You just splice (if that’s the right term) them together. Just connect red to red and black to black.
If the truck has a cabinet door in that location, is it still set up to accept a frige. Is the wire harness still in back and just need to remove the door? Anyone try this?
It’s a Dometic CD50 if you want the drawer style or DR50 if you want the swing door style. The wire harness and on/off button should be pre installed. Iowa80 sells a different brand but they are still in the $600-$700 price range.
It’s probably similar. I like the door personally just so I don’t have to dig through my food to get what I’m after. I just feel like you can be a little more organized with the door vs piling it in there with the drawer.
My fridge completely stopped working after a year. It's won't cool at all, light won't even turn on when I open it, its almost like it's disconnected. Any idea why?
I imagine it would just have constant power so it would stay on. That’s my guess. I would call or stop by a Kenworth dealer and ask them. Last thing you want to do is kill your batteries when you are parked
@@TruckingLife Thanks! Very helpful. What hurts me is that I don't have an apu unit. My company has them on most trucks yet some do not. My microwave/convection oven with burner is 900 watts. I normally have the truck on when using it. Our pure sine inverter is 1500 watts. I was thinking getting a plug in 65 watt Hisense brand minifridge. Your thoughts please.
The one I got had a lip around it so you just had to run a couple screws. I did have to use some tin snips to clear the holes for the trim to snap back on.
A Joy Tutus or Bouge RV chest fridge would be all around better. Cheaper, colder, easier to clean, less draw. My Joy Tutus 22 liter 23 quart cost 230 dollars to my doorstep.
I’m not 100% positive. But I believe it is to the left of your brake pedal on the underside of your dash. I think there is a set of fuses there. I don’t have my Kenworth anymore or I would look. I hope that helps.
@@josansurinder7314 thanks because I got a fridge for mine the other day and will be hooking it up once I get to my truck again. Def needed this. Thanks bro
Trucking Life do you know which one specifically? I have a 2020 kenworth t680 and just bought the 1.7 cubic feet mini fridge from Walmart , for my truck. It’s to wide for the refrigerator spot in the truck. The height is fine, just to wide.
Adam Wiley sorry, wrong fridge. The galanz is the one in my volvo. The one in my T680 is from Kenworth. It’s made for the t680. I’m not sure the cost or anything cause we had them put in the trucks before taking delivery of them.
Thanks for video bro. Ordered a new fridge a few days ago. Now I know how to install 🤝

I bought a fridge however I didn’t get the screws to bolt it on, would you happen to know what size they are?
Do you remember what size 😅
Just to make sure... Model is CR 50? Correct? Or wich one exactly?
Thx

Hey bud good job. Could you give me model number or link to this fridge
Can somebody point to what model this is and where can I get it I have a t680 2014
This seems to be on 2022 models or earlier.
Thanks for the video, can you share the fridge number or details about the model or any help found the same one you have , thk
Nice!! Do you still remember the part number on that fridge? I will appreciate.
It’s in the comments somewhere. I will find it for you.
SeeSaw commented and said that it is CD50 for the drawer style and DR50 is the swing door style.
Thank you for your quick response!!
Where I can buy a fridge like this??????
Thanks
Kenworth Dealer
This is a "replacement" video. The cable and wiring was already installed in the truck....
What are the measurements for the frig that fits ?
I’m not sure Cheryl. I’m no longer in that truck. Kenworth just ordered me a replacement when my fridge went down. So I did not have to do much.
Where did you get it and what's the price of you don't mind me asking
I got it at kenworth. I don’t know the price. It was covered in the warranty
@@TruckingLife ok thanks for your reply

Mine was on the control panel in the sleeper
How is this fridge working in the T680? Is it still holding up?

Kenworth
Where can I order that fridge from and what can I do if I don’t have that plug inside the truck to connect to the fridge

What is the size of your frig
I’m not sure to be honest. I would guess 1.5 cu. ft. Ish.. if I had to guess. I will do some research and get back to you.
15”Wx20.5” H x 19.25”D
I need a used one or something that fit in it
Right.. They are expensive. The only reason I got a new one was because the warranty replaced it for me.
But the model exactly is ? Serial number ?
