Merry Christmas Rex, I've been subscribed to your channel for many years, for whatever reason, RUclips has stopped adding your videos to my feed. Glad to see you're still doing well after the rough patch you had health-wise. Gonna look at what Arken has on their site, my friend is looking for a scope to throw on a .300WM he's buying. We hunt in the east, so he doesn't need 6-25X I'm still happy with the SWFAs, and everything else you've recommended but if you think Arken is the move, do they make a low power tank?
Love arken. With my ep5 on a 6.5cm zeroed at 100 yards, I dialed up to 550 yards and hit a 1 inch diameter rams eye target 1st shot. Right on the money. Scope is clean and clear. Have used it out to 1250. Works perfectly.

Thanks for that. I forgot to do this test when was ''stoopid'' cold just a day ago. It will be awhile before we see near -30 again this year here in warm and balmy NW Montana. I look forward to your test at that temp. Fortunately my Hornady 178 ELD-M's arrived just before Christmas. With H4350 out of a Springfield o3A3 that wears the Arken, at nearly 2,800fps, the cartridge will duplicate the typical 140grain 6.5CM load, and put a lot more energy on target. .30-06 is just as common as .308 Win here in Montana, because of the Griz problem during the last century, but these rifles are more often than .308 Win, are found collecting dust. Brass is so plentiful, that someone at a gun show sold me 900 cases of M2 brass in the original 20 round boxes for only 20 bucks. Modern extreme high BC bullets out of a .30-06 loaded with temperature stable powders H4350, or H4381sc for heavier than 180's, can outperform the 6.5CM. I can keep my options open and use the 178 ELD in a .300 Savage bolt action, .308 Win, or .30-06.
Thanks for the reviews on the Arken optics! They are excellent and people at the range assume these scopes are over $1000. IMO these are way better than the Vortex 6-24 PST Gen 11 for over $1000. Sale just ended for the year. Great sale also! Way to go Veterans!
A 64° N latitude dweller here. I've found that lithium batteries perform at full power in cold temps until they're almost spent. The blue labeled Energizer lithium batteries powers all my electronic gear that's exposed to the cold which includes illuminated scopes, red dot sights and especially headlamps. Merry Christmas to ya. Christ Is Born! Glorify Him!
I din't have to deal with extreme low temps, but I love the lithium Energizers. Long shelf life and more importantly they don't blow out and ruin gear like Duracells do.

Is it normal for the EPL4 6-24x50 to have purple fringing chromatic aberration when set past 18-20x magnification? Just wondering if it's a defect or if it's normal and are they all are like this.
