J-bay has been my dream wave since I started surfing about 15years ago. It looks so perfect! Not those massive, middle of the bay thick close outs but Supers during that glassy evening... man! Love your commentary mate! Thanks for the stoke. I should probably paint this some time... perfection!
And to think in Durban we still in T shirts, shorts and sandals. Thanks for allways giving us the best videos from J bay. Thankfully no slow mo shots or doef doef music😂😂

Great edit! It looks like this storm swell has deposited a lot more sand in the bay. When I was there in June for the comp, at low tide you could stand amongst the rocks and some of them would tower over you!

Definitely as the bottom has been devoid of sand for a year. The wave is not as smooth and the barrel not as hollow. A lot of the connection down the poi t was lost due to deep holes. It will fill in a bit now but the big concern is that there is no more sand feed to build the beach... Erosion is going to get mucj worse on the dunes now as seen on this swell which was on a neap tide.. Next big swell on springs going to be very bad...
@@oceanadventures365 bummer. dune "stabilisation" efforts, development on dunes and damming of creeks for agriculture and tourism has made a big difference to sand flow where i'm from. less good banks for sure. hopefully some of that sand washed off the dunes will settle nicely and give some good shape if your lucky. at least you can rub it in to the groms when you tell them "should have seen it in my day".

Not deposited just pulled down.. The damage will come now as the slope is gone and it will now eat up the dunes..
