After finally making her dreams come true, Karen should have been dating, 'doing the town', not tying herself down to a winey doper loser right off the bat. It made her look so needy. And Ivy should have been re-teamed up with Derek to start up another show. Also, Karen and Ivy would have wound up being friends. The addition of Jeremy totally killed it. Slowed down Karen too much.
Also not helping matter's, that Jeremy's character was not only slowing down the pacing, but also was such a terrible character, annoying and totally unsympathetic.
They were SO CUTE when singing "Let Me Be Your Star." They were watching each other and both decided to not showboat but focus on sustaining those notes and maintaining harmony. True kinship.
Whew. I really feel so bad that the show ended with just 2 seasons. It was good, just the gravitas and talent of the two leads is just so good. The world is unfair
I am still dazed and confused! How did this happen? Does this entire country have zero taste when it comes to superior talent? Any single cast member from SMASH has more talent in their pinky finger that 99.9 of the performers out their. It like looking at a rolls royce or Bently with someone and they dont see the difference between the rolls and a any other Make. I ill always hope for an Encore. Whoever shows up I will be happy to listen , laugh and reveel in the level of god given talent!
Cannot watch a single version of the two of them doing "That's Life" without shedding tears! Two awesome singers, actors, performers who deliver for their audiences!
I found Smash during 2020, and I loved seeing a show about Broadway! I think if they were to revive it, they should do about Broadway's journey through the pandemic
I absolutely LOVED this show. They inspired me to want to get involved producing/ supporting Bway plays. Actually got an exciting first bit of a taste w/Hadestown!! now on Bway!
The energy they brought to that performance reflected a friendship that transcends whatever relationship they brought to that stage. It fueled their mutual talent and allowed them to give balance to each other. That was so impressive! And SO MUCH TALENT! They are dazzling!

Its a sad thing that the woman who created this show was ultimately responsible for its downfall. This show was AMAZING and I wish they could have had a chance to redeem it with a third season.
You can see Katherine telling Megan she was taking the higher part at the end of Let me be Your Star. I think she wanted them to harmonize but Megan didn't pick up on it.
