I loved Katherine in SMASH. Very unhappy it was cancelled after only two fabulous seasons!
The show’s writer decided to end it cause NBC was starting to interfere and insert things in the story that didn’t make sense. That’s why it was cancelled

@@elfell87 Agreed. The show’s writer was the problem. She was also the producer but she didn’t know how to produce a TV show. It was obvious to everyone at NBC that the Ivy-Karen story had the most resonance but she wanted the show to be about herself, which is why Julia was the main character. She was gone after the first season, and then the show got moved to worse time slots.
That song ALWAYS makes me cry. Such a powerful ending to a great season, and she knocked it out of the park.
This song always gives me full body goosebumps and makes me cry.
"Marilyn Monroe" was the best role Norma Jean ever played
Marilyn would be proud. This song really captures her essence more than any other in the series
It's great that SMASH will be a Broadway musical in 2024. The title of the show will either be "Smash" or "Bombshell".....or maybe both?
Production begins in Spring 2025 and will be called SMASH. I just received an email for tickets.

breathy, kind of whisper voice..I love it.
Still a song Marilyn Monroe would be proud of. I feel that Norma Jean and who she become deserved that song.
P.s. Even if some people did not like season 2. I would watch a third season even if it come out now. I miss it^^.

She is nowhere near Megan. That's why the show was cancelled. No one could believe that hey had a hard time choosing between Megan and katharine.
🎉 I think it’s a testament to Marilyn that two such different and wonderfully talented women could play her; that’s how multifaceted Marilyn was. She was both the delicate ingenue like Katherine, and the bold bombshell like Megan.
