those last 30 seconds of you speaking about feeling energized and being grateful to have the opportunity to nourish your body with all of those beautiful plant based foods was seriously so beautiful! idk why it hit me this way but your sweet soul shines through a computer screen, which is not often achieved. keep being a positive ray of light and gratitude is ALWAYS the attitude! you're awesome girlfriend
Your videos really helped make me a more health conscious vegan. Since I've been following your tips, I've lost extra weight and gained so much confidence that I wore a crop top for the first time - out to my sister's birthday 🙈 Thank you so much, keep doing what you're doing! 💖💕
I am the SAME way about waiting for hunger...I used to have really bad digestion but the plant based lifestyle SAVED me!! Now I can even eat junk food every now and then without feeling sick!!
same! waiting to eat until I'm hungry has been a game changer. seems so simple but I would eat when I needed to because it was break time at work or because I wouldn't have time later...it really wasn't good for me and I feel so much better now
Have you tried Golden Mylk? I've been LOVING it! It's cashew milk with tumeric ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, maple syrup, H.pink salt and a sprinkle of pepper. I've been icing mine, but you can drink warm too!@nikkivegan
Nikki, I have always thought you were awesome... but you are really stepping your video game upppp!!!! seriously, your RUclips videos keep getting better & better! I love how you're adding more nutritional information! you are the best, lady bug!!! keep up the amazing work! Tenn
I only started to eat vegan last week so I'm a newbie at the moment. Feeling great so far, heaps of energy and feel happier. I am trying to figure out what's whole and what's not for example a vegan burger could be made from veg and be homemade so not highly processed or from a shop and be made with thickening agents etc. Really enjoying your channel, thanks for replying!
I know what you mean. It can be a little confusing at first but think of it like this, whole foods just means foods int heir whole form. Maybe they're mashed, or sliced, or mixed with other foods in their whole forms but their still recognizable and minimally processed. So for example, a homemade veggie burger with potatoes or rice and beans or quinoa or lentils and some other veggies and spices is still eating whole, plant foods. Some store bought versions though can have filers and preservatives, etc. so I just eat less of those. I eat those foods as treat if I'm out a restaurant or cooking for my non vegan friends. The processed foods I avoid are like vegan junk foods, proceed vegan meats, some cheeses, and other foods like that because I feel best when I eat mostly fresh fruits, veggies, grains, legumes, and nuts/seeds. It can be confusing but it's actually really simple. Just try to focus on simple, whole, plant foods :)
Just mentioning a veggie burger, my new favourite is from elephantastic vegan and is a mushroom burger that’s so dang delicious I could eat it for every meal. That’s all, give it a try!
I feel like there was SO MUCH insanely useful information in this video!!! I always know an idea of what I am going to put together before I go out to eat, it helps so so much! 💜
Looks like a great day of eating! I've recently watched a couple of Ellen's videos & have also used her idea of mashed avocado for dressing. I just bought my second bottle of that spirulina after my partner knocked the first one onto the floor, & it broke & made such a mess. I hadn't even opened it yet, so I'm looking forward to adding it into smoothies like you do. Thanks for all of your great food videos. I hope you're having a beautiful weekend! 🦋
Oh no! I did that with a bottle of dried rosemary recently and it was so hard to clean up! I kept finding tiny pieces of rosemary everywhere lol such a bummer. Anyway, hope you enjoy the Spirulina and have a nice week!
I just subscribed to your channel and I'm already in love with your content/ videos :-) And you seem to be a very kind and considerate person. I like that a lot.
I always learn something new watching your videos. You look amazing!! please do a video on your makeup, it's stunning! or please list the makeup you were wearing.
Recently found your channel and I AM IN LOVE WITH IT. I have been looking into a plant based diet, and was wondering if you have any good reads recommendations for me. Thanks for all the recipes and information, you are doing a wonderful thing.
Thanks Allison! That seriously makes me SO happy! For reading I loved How Not to Die by Dr. Greger. Intense title but great book with info on a plant based diet and scientifically backed nutrition information. I especially liked the the last half of the book that breaks down what he calls Greger's Dozen. It's 12 foods he recommends eating every day, how to get them and why it's important. So helpful and interesting! He also has a great RUclips channel called nutritionfacts. org :)
@nikkivegan I have been binge watching Ellen Fisher's videos since you posted. Thanks to you- I'm seriously thinking of taking my womb out of retirement and moving to Hawaii!!!!! 😱
Loved how you constructed the rice bowl using various menu items!! Great tips!! P.S. What time will you be paneling at VegFest? I tried looking at the schedule but didn't see your name and wasn't sure if you'd be with the RUclips group or a locals group or some other group. Hoping to see you there!!
Good video! I though too that I have a hard time digesting raw pears & apples (get facial redness & irritation when gut working too hard). Will definitely try cooking them to see if that helps~thanks! 👸🏼
Loved this all the food actually looked appetising and I love how informative everything is and how you talk about digestion 👌 do you think you could do a vid where you show your macros like Bonny Rebecca's new ones for example just because iv been trying to eat w little more protein and would like to know how much I'd get eating a day like yours 😘
Thanks! I love the videos she makes where she shows her macros too :) I can definitely do that for you but in the meantime, if you need more protein here are my tips: Eat foods like whole grains, beans, lentils, oats, nuts, and seeds. For example oatmeal with berries and walnuts or almond butter for breakfast. Then for lunch have a kale and quinoa salad with veggies and avocado and for dinner have some whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, lentils, mushrooms, onions, basil. Maybe a side of broccoli. Then sprinkle on some nutritional yeast or shelled hemp seeds and you should be at a pretty good amount of protein for the day. If you want to really bulk up the protein you can have things like veggie burgers. I know there's a frozen one called Beast Burger that my bf really likes and the Gardein one is good too. I personally feel the best when I eat whole, simple, plant foods but there are so many options and I find that I don't have to worry too much about one nutrient, like protein. As long as I eat a wide variety of plant foods and eat enough calories, I generally meet all of my macros with out much effort. Hope that helps! I'll talk more about this in upcoming videos :)
Thanks so much for your reply and taking the time to give me detailed information like the meal examples that's SO helpful and awesome of you! I will def take your advise! I'm trying to build a lil muscle back since having daughter so need just that bit extra protein as I mainly eat carbs like most vegans haha I look forward to your video with your macros 😊 xx
love your videos and what you ate this day :) just a question though, you mention spinach being a good source of calcium, but I thought the calcium isn't very available in spinach as it's bound up on oxalates? and also, the b12 in spirulina I've heard is a pseudo form of b12 that the body doesn't recognise? (genuinely curious over here. I'm a vegan :)
Yeah you can taste both of them but I find that it's not unpleasant. I actually like it because it makes t taste healthier somehow lol If you're using ripe bananas and good fruit it's very subtle :)
If you want to, go for it. They're both healthy but I find that not every smoothie needs to have every single super food I own. Sometimes I just go fruit, sometimes just fruit and spinach, sometimes fruit spinach and maca..and/or barely grass juice powder...sometimes cacao and dates and chia seeds...sometimes turmeric and ginger. It really just depends on what I'm feeling that day :)
I just recently discovered your channel and love these videos you do. I wanted to ask if you suffered from IBS/IBD/Chrons? I ask because you mentioned the bloating/indigestion. I have ulcerative colitis and currently on a plant based healing plan. Just wanted to know more about your story....
A plant-based diet is very healing for almost any gastrointestinal issue. It was really helpful in my healing from Celiac following my diagnosis but I know it is also beneficial for Crohn's Disease and IBS since it drastically reduces the amount of inflammatory foods you are consuming.
I focus on eating whole plant foods meaning in their whole, unprocessed form as much as possible. This usually means super simple meals cooked at home with out oil (not that I eat super low fat, but I eat fats in their whole form...nuts, avocados, olives, etc) and without refined sugar (I sweeten with fruit most of the time) But when I go out or if it's a special occasion or holiday, I eat whatever vegan food I want. Pancakes, cookies, veggie burgers, nachos...whatever. The only thing I keep in mind is not eating past the point of being full. I find that's when I get a really bad stomachache and feel gross. So yeah, that was a long way of saying: whole, fresh, plant foods :) What kind of vegan are you?
I drink a few times a week. Sometimes I have a glass of wine after work with dinner but I usually save it for a day off and have a few drinks then. Usually wine or a dirty martini. Just depends on how I feel and what the occasion is :)
this all looks so yummy and healthy but i get so hungry on a vegan day, i could literally eat all you ate in one day at breakfast. how. do. vegans. not. get. hungry. seriously! i struggle so much with this :(
Hey girly! Eat more ☺️ if your body is telling you it’s hungry, then feed it! There’s no “right” portion size. My mom and I eat way more than most people, we have big appetites. I used to eat larger portions than my ex boyfriend too. It’s not about portion size or purposely under or overeating, it’s about listening to your body’s cues for food. Eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. When you do feel hungry, try to fill up on nourishing foods like fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, and nuts. I do try to get big portions in and also make sure I have a mix of complex carbs, healthy fats, and protein to help reduce blood sugar spikes which make me feel that “suddenly starving” feeling. I eat often, I eat well, and I keep it simple. It’s all trial and error and it took me a while to get to a place where I learned what works for me. You’ll get there! ☺️💚
I really love your videos, but I am really concern about this one since you are a nutritionist... Spinach maybe does contain a lot of calcium, but also a lot of oxalates, which lowers the absorption, so it does not qualify as a calcium-rich food on a vegan diet. Also, spirulina has nonactive analogs of B12 which has been proven to don't have effects in raising B12 levels in the long run. Please, do the research about these topics.
Lol ☺️💚 I have healthy versions of nachos, fettuccine Alfredo, pizza, Taco Bell copy cats, and brownies on this channel. Keep looking and I think you’ll find something you like 👌

There was a vegan festival in my city yesterday. It was awesome.
Aw that's so cool! Did you try anything new/especially delicious?
NikkiVegan Eggplant tacos were delicious.
sounds delish!
That frozen mango from Trader Joe's is my LIFE. I put half a bag in my oatmeal every morning. I just love it so much
I know! It's seriously so good! This was particularly ripe bag, so it was amazing
Have you tried Golden Mylk? I've been LOVING it!
It's cashew milk with tumeric ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, maple syrup, H.pink salt and a sprinkle of pepper.
I've been icing mine, but you can drink warm too!@nikkivegan
I have! I LOVE it! I haven't made it in a while though...hmmm might have to try it again soon
That salad was GENIUS! I feel SO prepared to begin the new year as a vegan with your videos.
Thanks! I’m so glad you found this video helpful! Hope you have an awesome 2019 💚 let me know if you have any questions or have any recipe requests!

I LOVE Ellen! My favorite dressing is mashed avocado!
Me too and me too! lol
I get acid reflex if I eat oats with raw fruit, I'm going to try cooking it all together like you did, what a good idea.
Let me know how it goes!
I never thought of adding ginger to my smoothies, I have in the past added cinnamon. Thanks for the Tip!
it's so good! gives it a little spiciness. especially delicious with mango smoothies :)
Had same problem with oats! Solved it by using a lot of water when cooking more than they say & it works!
That's a good idea! I do that too and cook it a little longer than it says to. Helps a lot :)
Lazy days are nice. We need them sometimes bc we're always busy.
I just subscribed to your channel and I'm already in love with your content/ videos :-) And you seem to be a very kind and considerate person. I like that a lot.
Aw thank you Stefanie! That means a lot to me :) Thank you for subscribing!
Spirulina doesnt have the B12 we want. It's another version. Need to look more into that. Also, an algea oil is recommended.
I always learn something new watching your videos. You look amazing!! please do a video on your makeup, it's stunning! or please list the makeup you were wearing.
Thank you! I will try to make a makeup video soon. I'm so not a pro, I have like 2 brushes lol
Oats are okay any time of day!🙌🏼😋 Your videos always inspire me so much! You make the most delicious looking food❤️
Aw thank you! YOUR videos inspire me! And I agree, I'm addicted to oats lol
I love breakfast!!! My favorite meal of the day!!
me too!

Yup! I'll be in the Q&A tent from 12pm to 12:20 :) Come say hi!
Love your videos. I always learn something new. Great tip about avocados for salad dressing. :)
So happy to hear that! and yes, it's such a good dressing. I've been doing it a lot lately :)
Perfect day of eating! I know that nourished, cozy feeling you are talking about. One of the best perks of being a whole food vegan!
agreed! feels so good!
Thank you so much for doing this video!! I wrote down what I needed to buy!! ☺️
Aw that's awesome! Hope you enjoy hun :)
I was thinking your green smoothie reminded me of Ellen's channel when you were making it 😀
haha that's awesome! She's inspired me a lot recently
Good video! I though too that I have a hard time digesting raw pears & apples (get facial redness & irritation when gut working too hard). Will definitely try cooking them to see if that helps~thanks! 👸🏼
Me too! I love raw apples and pears but my they really mess with my stomach. Cooking them helps me a lot. Hope it works for you too!
Once again your makeup was so on point.

lol I love her

haha that's awesome
Is this a Nutri Bullet blender?
Yes! Love it!
i was wondering how often u consume alcohol in a week!! hehe bc i heard u ordered a light beer at the restaurant :)
I drink a few times a week. Sometimes I have a glass of wine after work with dinner but I usually save it for a day off and have a few drinks then. Usually wine or a dirty martini. Just depends on how I feel and what the occasion is :)
Can you taste the ginger? I want to try adding this to my smoothie but I don't want an overwhelming ginger taste
Lacey Parish yeah you can taste it but it's much more mild than fresh. Try adding a little at a time 😊
NikkiVegan awesome I'm definitely going to give it a try! thank you 😊 love your videos!
this all looks so yummy and healthy but i get so hungry on a vegan day, i could literally eat all you ate in one day at breakfast. how. do. vegans. not. get. hungry. seriously! i struggle so much with this :(
Hey girly! Eat more ☺️ if your body is telling you it’s hungry, then feed it! There’s no “right” portion size. My mom and I eat way more than most people, we have big appetites. thanks your the quick reply, you're very kind :) I will try, as I am at the beginning of this
I really love your videos, but I am really concern about this one since you are a nutritionist... Please, do the research about these topics.
your great!!!!
Aw thank you! So are you
How come everyday is a lazy day for me tho lmao
There was an advertisement for eggs everyday before this video. wtf!
boo! wish we had more control over those!
You rock!
