Hey, I just subscribed to your channel. It looks like a fun channel to follow along with. Nature will always beat the hustle and bustle of the big city. Safe travels
This makes me soo happy. A couple of my favorite youtubers in the same video is always a cool surprise. Can't wait to see you, Camper and Rodney, hanging out at the Desperato ranch. Maybe we will see you on the Demo Ranch side of youtube as well.
Oh damn, wasnt expecting Nikki, nice! Also died laughing at that random kid running around in a bathing suit while you were suiting up in boots and a jacket. Gotta love Alaska!
Matt, blade guy here. 5160 springsteel is one of the best steels on the planet, next to 6150, which is 5160 with extra vanadium for corrosion resistance. While springsteel is often more for swords (I own a 3,000$ Albion Alexandria sword that's 6150 springsteel), you should know that that is likely the best knife you've ever owned. If you ever try to make skiff knives 2.0, look into 5160/6150.
that is, if you're doing fixed blades... for folders, consider Cruwear, M4 and any of s30v, 35vn or 45vn. those will be a cheaper build while holding an edge that non-knife people will be able to learn to sharpen.
Mats zest for life is infectious. His deep love for sunsets and simple things. I hope he’s as happy as he seems and it’s not just the usual RUclipsr thing. Dude deserves good things.
Kara and Nate. Their back 2 back cross America west on Amtrak then hop the us can border an cruise in halfthepriceofamtrak but double the luxury an actual clean rooms
Hey Matt, my name is Joseph Brown, and I am a Disabled Combat Veteran. I've been a fan of yours for a long time now. How do I go about applying for a job at your resort, as a handyman or maintenance man, heck even as a maid? I have been wanting to work for you for a few years now. It's not very common for most Americans. Never been on one myself. There are a lot of tracks in the area so I have seen plenty, all cargo haulers though.
@@MrGoesBoomespecially not for Americans in certain regions. Like the eastern states and California have some train networks, but midwestern states have next to no train network. Texas has some, so Matt could’ve at some point. But it’s still not nearly the density of train networks as in (western) Europe.
We went there last year for the first time. We too were worried about not seeing a moose and saw 40 or so during our stay. It never got old and we enjoyed each encounter. It's a beautiful place.
As someone who lived, as a kid, in Alaska, summertime in Anchorage is often rainy and usually in the high 60's. After a while, you don't feel the cold like people here in the SW do. If you want to feel the cold, go there in the middle of winter (I like being there for the Fur Rendezvous). A place in town to buy things like raincoats and boots is a market called Fred Meyer. There is also a big shopping mall downtown.
Totally agree Matt. We had a big Bronco in the 80s. Loved it. Pulled a 30 ft. travel trailer easily with it. After we sold it to buy a pickup again, we later bought a baby Bronco which was fun for run around. The ones now look barely bigger than our baby Bronco was. They just don't have the majesty and commanding lines of the old Broncos. I still see old Broncos around San Antonio occasionally and they are well kept it appears too.

What a great addition to Demolition! Build yourself a small Railroad that people could sit in and Travel to different locations on the Ranch? Build and install a rail system through out the Ranch? Lay the tracks to service your B&B’s and down to the river wherever there are guests layout your track system
Waaaay to expensive and to have someone sit around waiting for people to hop would be silly, it's fixer up resort... not Disney world lol as cool as that would be.
I hunt bears out of Talkeetna. Glad you got to enjoy it, you should take a trip on Mahay’s jetboat up the Susitna River next time, or get a Tri Rivers guide to take you up the Talkeetna to catch salmon at the mouth of the creeks.
How to catch a Polar Bear. 1. Chop a hole in the ice. 2. Open a can of peas. 3. Spread the peas all around the hole. 4. Hide in the bushes. 5. Wait for a bear to come along and take a pea. 6. Kick him in the ice hole.
One of the best trips I’ve ever taken started off with that exact train ride. 14 days on the Kenai, camping and hiking in Denali, watching the salmon run. A trip of a lifetime
