i love your videos. it makes me so sad that here in germany there are no rink which are open during summer:( so i always have to wait for like 5 months in between seasons:(
@@Sofabar so kind of you to answer! and I feel so honored you remember me:) I am working on my axel at the moment!!! I will contact you when I'm in Oberstdorf again!! :)
Thank you so much for your videos! I can’t wait to get back on ice in autumn, there’s no public skating in the whole Czechia at the moment, at least I haven’t found any :( Do you by chance know about some in Linz or just somewhere close to the south Czech border? :) I don’t understand German very well 😅
I would say it’s totally possible that you might find something in Austria to Germany by the border, but I don’t know where exactly. If you were more local, I would know of some rinks 🙈🙏
Thank you for this video! It's exactly what I need to give my lessons some order. I know it from horse riding, that the work is completely different and goes always better when you know what, why, when, where and how to do and have a plan for the lesson in your mind. Many thanks from your neighbour from Czechia 😉
Thanks for these beginner videos. I know it's not the best and it takes longer to be self-taught, but I don't have time or money to get lessons. These videos help me practise the basics, so hopefully when I finally can get lessons I won't be a total noobie :D
Hi! I’m not sure if you will respond, but I am going to comments anyway. I’m a high schooler who is a little overweight but I have always loved the cold and ice, and when I saw figure skating years ago it looked sooo pretty and cool and it’s the cold so it was plus. Recently I have moved so I am not sure if there is a rink near me, but I want to try it out. I just feel discouraged a little bit because I’m overweight and a high schooler. I also since I was nine have been interested in becoming vegan, I have tried a few times but it never really stuck because I don’t know on prepare things and cook them, like I know what gives you protein and what not just not sure where to buy it, how to cook it etc etc. I hope you answer, if not it’s okay. You are one of my top choices when I am looking for a yoga/pilates video.
Hiya! I started figure skating a little over a year ago, right before my 17th birthday, and I was super nervous. I thought I was too late to start. I loved the cold and the ice, as well as the artistry of skating, so I took a shot. I try to get to the rink every day now, I love it so much! I have become so much stronger and skating has become a real staple in my life. I never liked any sports before I tried skating. Give it a shot! Try a group class. If you have any questions let me know- I look up to Sofie too, and while I'm not as experienced as her, I know a lot about what it's like to be a beginner later in the game. Another thing that helped me that might help you with the whole starting late thing is to look at Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot in their gold medal pairs free skate from the 2018 winter Olympics - Aljona is 35 and still doing triples!! Best of luck. If skating doesn't work out, don't give up hope- there's something else out there for ya(:
Meg M Thank you! I’ll see if my mom is okay with me taking classes once we unpack the house, and I do have questions I’ll try to ask you~ Thank you again~
I am 21 and started figure skating last November, and I’m currently working on my scratch spin and I’m about to learn my first fully rotated jump next lesson! It’s definitely possible, I’m not overweight but I’m certainly not fit, and I see people of every size and age on the ice every day. Go for it! It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
Rae Oboroko Hi, It is never to late to start skating. The best it is to try first few times skating and than if you like it sign up for their group lessons. I am a adult skater. I started when I was 43 years old and now I am 63. I do still work but skating is my passion. I try to skate 3 times a week for a total of 8 hours. I have been skating on and off thru those years because of obligations "Life". Yes I take group lessons twice a week. It really does help. Now I am learning combination spins and I am learning the Axel jump " no double jumps yet". Good Luck 😉 Have Fun!! ⛸🎼🦋 Lise 🤗
Hi! I'm at the very beginning and I'm afraid to fall, because the first time I fell and broke my wrist. Still, I'm skating but I'm not doing it with peace. How can I get rid of the fear? Also I can't get my balance even after a month 😢
Make sure you're wearing kneepads, good gloves, elbow pads and a helmet. You will feel more comfortable knowing you can just fall if you need to and it won't injure you. A way to work on your balance is to do core exercises at home and balancing exercises. Yoga and pilates are great for balance and increasing strength. If you have a strong core, you will be able to hold yourself better. But ultimately the best way to get over your fear is to keep at it! ❤️
Oh so cool! I have been doing those moves for a long time now. It really helps your skating skills in the long run ;-) My coach does those with us regularly in our adult skate class in Essen :-)(y)
Sure! Although the chances of advancing to an international level are a lot slimmer than if you had started at.. 6 or something, but go for it! I'm also starting figure skating at 23 (although I do not plan to compete... much ^^') If anything, it's fun!
Do you know David Pelletier? He was a canadian skater who won 2002 olympic gold medal in pairs with his then partner Jamie Sale. He was a former hockey player who begun figure skating at 15 years old. So I would say for you to go for it. You have to put it in your heart. Don't give up. If you want it so much and you have the possibilities then do it, no fear. People may want to destroy your dreams but you don't listen to them. Only you know what's inside of you. May God bless you and bless your dream. I'm sure you will be a great figure skater if you believe in it. Believe in God and believe in you. Yuzuru Hanyu once said ,,Never give up on your dreams" and the guy knew very well what he was talking about, he wasn't just saying that. So Good luck for you and have faith !! You can do it !! 😉
That is such an interesting looking Ice Rink...
Love how graceful you are! Always great to revisit the basics no matter what level we are! x

Happy to hear that ❤️
Did you take lessons? and do you compete?
Very nice!
Is there a particular helmet that you would recommend?
R. Elizabeth Latham I’m no where close to her level but I think any bike helmet would protect your cute little head :)
Wow!! Great video 😊
