I have a 2011 CTS Coupe with the P package. I wish there was a way to disable the headlight auto system completely. I have a light out on the top of the grill on the right side and have to remember to turn off auto control every time I start it because I will be driving around with a light out. Even in broad daylight, this will get you a ticket here. The other alternative is the second position, which keeps the light on, but takes a while to shut off when I park it and I can't help but go back and check to see if it is off. I plan to pull the grill off and fix the light, plus the windshield pump/tank that leaks badly. Why is it so hard to have an option to just not run lights in broad daylight?
This is the worst and hardest way to do this ( DO NOT DO THIS THE WAY THIS GUY DOES IT ) this entire bumper does not need to come off you can do one side at a time this guy is doing this the hardest way possible and has NO clue what he is doing. Watch all the other videos where everyone does it the easy and simple way without removing the entire front bumper.
If you follow along...after pulling off the old lenses and pulling out the bulbs, instead of putting the old ones in, you would simply bolt in the new lenses
question.... the slim white light on the side of 09 CTS headlamps.... howbdo you replace those bulbs.????? I just took mine off and changed that bulbs but it didn't fix the one I was shooting for. any recommendations??
I do not recall what the factory style lense assemblies look like, but is there an access panel on the side of the housing to the bulbs for the thin strip?
@@Amundred I will pull it back off and double check, I did figure out how I can take them out without removing the entire front bumper. Just those push pins and couple other little things that were holding it on but it all came off nice and easy... Thanks again.
@@Itzalwys1420 good luck! I tried to take a look online and it looks like there is possibly one bulb in each side for those strips. I am not positive, but from what I could see it should be able to be changed through an access panel on the side of the housing.
One of the best how-to videos on this I've seen, thank you!

I thin kthat with the STS you can get away with unbolting the bumper and pulling it way from the lens...I do not know for sure though
Ok i will try i have light blew out.
You've got this! Just take your time and you will be just fine! 👍

I agree! The auto headlight feature can be a bit annoying!!!
@@Amundred I'm going to look at pulling a relay or a fuse that will solve this. Who needs parking lights anyway?

Thanks bro I’m about to do this. 🙄
You are welcome! It isn't really difficult...just time consuming and really annoying taking apart the front of the car....for bulbs!
nice, but it doesn't tell me how to change the lens,
If you follow along...after pulling off the old lenses and pulling out the bulbs, instead of putting the old ones in, you would simply bolt in the new lenses
hey - you didn't show how to remove the LENS!!!
YOU SAID YOU WOULD!!!
