I just want to add some advice (for myself and for all my muslim brothers),
We should only choose a person who:
1. Has clean/right aqeedah
2. Has good/qualified knowledge
3. High in taqwa
to be our teacher in deen (and to be someone to look up to).
[This words has been said many times by Ustadz Musyaffa' from Indonesia]
Ustaad Sajid. This clip is on point Alhumdulillah. All I would say is - keep up the calm and methodical approach. Plus, don’t take the bait. Sometimes a response is required and beneficial for them and for us. Sometimes it may be better to just ignore them. All I’m saying is don’t ever let those people dictate the way you spend time (even indirectly). That said - I am glad someone is telling these brothers what the score is. May Allāh bless you abundantly and give you success in this life and the next and May Allah guide us all. Ameen.

Well said. Everytime u address these types its on point. But I would caution u not to busy yourself with them. Teach the people principles. Give them what I have of ilm. I do like how Shaykh tahir and the brothers Ali Davis and any saajid and the imfc deal with these situation. They address it once or twice and keep it moving.
Ibn al-Madīnī said, "I heard ʿAbd al-Raḥmān bin Mahdī say: Ibn ʿAwn is a test for the people of Baṣrah. If you see a person from them loving him, then incline and be secure with him. For the people of Kūfah, Mālik bin Mighwal and Zaāʿidah bin Qudāmah are a test. If you see a man loving them then seek his goodness. And for the people of Shām, al-Awzāʿī, and Abū Is-hāq al-Fazārī are a test. And for the people of Ḥijāz, Mālik bin Anas." (al-Lālikāʾī 1/62). Ibn Mahdī said, "When you see a person from Shām loving al-Awzāʿī and Abū Is-hāq al-Fazārī, then he is a person of the Sunnah". (al-Jarḥ wat-Taʿdīl of Ibn Abī Hātim, 1/217). Aḥmad bin Yūnus narrates from Sufyān al-Thawrī who said, "Test the people of Mawṣul by Muʿāfī bin ʿImrān." (Tahdhīb al-Tahdhīb of Ibn Ḥajar, 10/180). Al-Barbahārī said, "To set up trials in Islām is an Innovation. As for today, people should be tested for the Sunnah, because of his saying, "This is the knowledge of the religion, so look from whom you take your religion..." (Sharḥ al-Sunnah, no. 152, and the latter part of the narration is that of Muhammad bin Sīrīn, the Tābiʿī). Aḥmad bin Zahīr said, "I heard Aḥmad binʿ Abd Allāh bin Yūnus say: Test the people of Mawṣul with Muʿāfī bin ʿImrān. If they love him, then they are Ahl al-Sunnah, and if they hate him, then they are Ahl al-Bidʿah - just as the people of Kūfah are to be tested by Yaḥyā." (al-Lālikāʾī 1/66).

Learn what a sheikh is and reserve that title for only those it applies to.

This is why sticking to the major scholars is so important because many of the students come gray and are the reason why people are turned off by this blessed minhaj! Some students are watering down salafiyyah and trying to a cert themselves between the lay people and the major scholars by minimizing the role of the scholars... The students are not the inheritors of the prophets but the scholars are!!!

JazakAllah khair for your videos. I'm a convert as well, and some of your videos have stood out to me as something that would've made me start thinking that Islam might be true before I converted. I was thinking "what if there are others who are not yet Muslim who are similar to me in that regard?", and I thought maybe if they're similar to me they might be hanging out in the same types of places I used to. I'd like to ask if you would be okay with me sharing your videos with non-Muslims on various sites? I'm asking permission because on these sites non-Muslims are just really depraved of morals and will say and do the worst things imaginable, many are very opposed to Islam, so I worry if I do share your videos they would attack you. These are sites like 4chan and tumblr (they seem like polar opposites but I feel the mentality of the people on these websites are similar but just take opposing manifestations politically).
Did you end up sharing the videos on those websites? If so what happened?

I understand the point you're trying to make. However, I think it's a far jump to associate the person that asked you about these people with those chapters you mentioned from Kitaab Tawheed. The Salaf did test individuals they didn't know with scholars or students from that particular region. so there is a precedence for this question.
First sensible comment on here. This brother seems to have alot of fan boys who would agree with him on anything he says. Sad.
Follow up question why would a person be asked such a question about modern day personalities when one they graduated from schools and scholars on the haqq. 2 All of their content is based of kitabullah and sunnah with the understanding from the sahaba and the consensus. So from this poi t of view its clear theirs some type of error in judgment being made

But is it not exaggeration? Picking on other salafis on minor issues, in such a day and time where we are Such a minority, why to confuse the beginners so much? I love spubs for the sake of Allah but yes they are not always right on everything. And they aren't infallible too, so rather judge by the manhaj of a person than his association with spubs or troid.

How do you know which scholars on the right path? Is it like the old puzzle which comes first - egg or chicken? Not exactly. You have to have relationship with Quran to understand which scholars are on the right path. That means you will have to have, at least, some knowledge to know who is on the right path.

Nevertheless, i agree that slandering is wrong and i also disagree that he use one single person that slander him as a based to judge our brothers in SPBUS and TROID.

Assalamu Alaikum Brother, I'm just confused guy from India, I just ended up on this video after there was a confusion caused in Speakers corner between Shamsi and Ali Dawah and Muhammad Hijab. I'm not knowledgeable in deen, I cant goto madhina and learn, so the only way I can make sure I'm not one of those 72sects is to ensure I identify who I get knowledge on RUclips are upon rightly guided. (I know youtube is not the only or reliable source to get knowledge but it's my shortcoming, I have little time left after travelling back and forth from work and office, may Allah ease my situation). I just have two questions which are confusing me. Can muslim unite with those 72 sects inorder to tackle common enemy, with the only criteria that they all have said shahada overlooking their akhida like those of shia (brotherhood movement ideology)? Brother Shamsi says we should only unite upon Qur'an, Sunnah and pious predesseors (three generations)?
Is one allowed to interpret the Quran and Hadith differently from the pious predesseors, and explain from his own understanding which is not the way those salafs (pious predesseors) interpreted or explained (and side question) = even if something which doesn't directly contradict salafs or quran or hadiths for example a new thing which is invented (example explaining Quran using just arabic like Nauman Ali khan). Please don't ignore this question by saying I have a problem because I'm trying to make takfir etc. (i dont know what this term fully means though). It's a very important question and there are millions of brothers like me who are confused on this subject. I signed up for bayyinah arabic course thinking that I would learn arabic from NAK, I finished 7 units of Arabic with Husna, but suddenly I happened to see videos about his misguided akhida and I'm getting myself discouraged to take knowledge from Him cuz everytime he explains Arabic during the course now I'm thinking whether this is Allowed cuz our pious predesseors didn't explain like this... It's so confusing... help me inshallah

Regarding uniting with people of innovation than absolutly never because this means uniting in sins and transgression.
Brother Shamsi Alhamdu Lillah deals the topics with knowledge and is proven that Hijab lies and deceive the muslims, Hijab also uses philosophical arguments to explain the existance of Allah and this is really dangerous and as it was proven, he fell into saying something wrong about the Attributes of Allah.
So my advice is to stick to the brother at Spubs and Troid and take knowledge from them.

Now I have totally different views... first time in my life I feel that I have better understanding but at the same time I'm not closer to Allah as before, make dua for me. But I have a lot of knowledge. Knowledge is not always equal to closness to Allah but without it, it's not possible to get closer to Allah. I think most important thing is Sincereity to Allah and Being honest to once self. If you are a good man then Allah will guide even if you are worshipping idols. What I learnt is that question paper (test in this life) is different for each person. For a idol worshiper, his test is to know who Allah is and he may pass the test. But for a born Muslim, he already said is kalima, but his test is different, for him correctly worshipping Allah is not a test, his test is greater than that. Muhammad (sal) was given a mission and that mission is not just to tell people about Allah but it is to establish khilfa on earth. If you need to know about it you have to understand what happened after our Prophet's (sal) demise, what happened to Ali ra, Hasan ra and Hussain ra and why our prophet mentioned that Ali r will fight for the explanation of Quran? Is there something which sahabas did not understand from Quran for which Ali ra is going to fight for? What is that? find out... Please don't label me as Shia as soon as I mentioned about Ali hasan and Hussain, I'm not Shia. May be if you can read about the explanations from Abul ala Maudoodi and Dr Israr Ahmed.
The 'extreme in religion' in terms of exaggerating relates to attaching divinity towards individuals, by the likes of the Christians, grave worshipping shiites, heretic sufis etc, those who attach servitude to creations that which is due to Allaah alone. Take for example what has been included in 'Kitab-ut-Tawhid'. The other extreme that has been reported from the sunnah is that of the kharijites, those who are harsh on people due to sins and are quick to label others as outright 'disbelievers' due to actions that do not constitute disbelief. The methodology of testing people with known upright individuals- not as a general rule but as a means of clarity when there's a necessity, without attaching divinity of any kind- is a matter that is completely different in context and is from the methodology of the salaf as has been authentically reported in every book of usool and manhaj. It doesn't fall into the category of extreme exaggeration but in the category of gheerah/protective jealousy for the deen and preserving authentic scholarship, books of sunaan are filled with examples to this effect. No one considers SPUBS or TROID or the salafi mashaykh let alone any particular student of knowledge to be infallible, not even their staunchest supporter, I challenge you to bring one example to prove it otherwise. The analogy you've made in this video is unfair and false. I advise you to fear Allaah and be just.

In Islam, the evidence agreed upon by scholars are: Quran, Sunnah, and Ijmac which is rulings agreed by scholars. Therefore, the opinion of certain scholars are not evidence in our religion. You need to learn your religion and stop repeating what others say and don't act like a parrot.

The ummah as a whole as well within sub communities suffer from where true beneficial knowledge from the haq of the deen is not available for lack of those learned from the native people who know first hand the inherent intricacies of their community .
Alhamduliilah afforded are the opportunities to those who in change sacrifice at great lengths of their lives away from all and who they know and go in the pursuit of knowledge of the deen to go back following completion to where they came to benefit the people by which they were benefited .
Like that of those from a distant village with no access to quality healthcare by qualified physicians. A native from the village goes off becomes qualified in the sciences need to aid his people’s ills , then return.
Can you image some from the people suffering now come to question what university did their now hometown Doctor attended and from whom were his professors they took from and learned , what are their thoughts of other doctors , did they belong to particular fraternity while studying , who were their contemporaries and peers they associated with and if any answer does not fall in line with the questioners pleasing. The now returned from years of sacrifice and study to qualification becomes suspect at best at the behest of those with little if any knowledge, nothing less than tasteless and baseless morsels Insufficient to satisfy qualifying as a meal to feed the people . Let alone help the people be it their physical or spiritual health and well being . Discrediting these doctors or pre as well post doctorate graduates not for any mis or malpractice. But for it has become the practice for too long going back two decades pointing away from qualified graduates of esteemed higher schools of knowledge . What physician refers back to his collegiate and university professors years post graduate lest it be for consultation . Yet every Ustadh, Alim, Da’ee and Talibul ‘ilm for all the love appreciation and gratitude for the kibaar ulamah must name drop for every finger waving ,recognition craving , speaking in false accents hand gesturing foreign to who they are , no more than trolls cheerleading those they wish to champion.
Wearing the team jersey and knowing the roster and team stats does not make you a member of the team no more you are than a cheerleader on the sideline yelling in the direction of the “players” participating on the field of play in the game you are not in but just a distraction from the action that is taking place , yelling and waving your hands in the people’s face. You are not a part of the game but apart from it . You are of no merit to those you are starkly different but align to and do no discredit to those you are indifferent to .
May Allah truly guide you and us all ,preserve the kibaar of the ulamah and steadfast upon Khair those from the upcoming ranks pre and post graduates be they our ulama of tomorrow.calling us not to themselves but the kitaabullah , the sunnah of Rasullah alaihu salawaatubwas salaam upon the understanding of those who followed in obedience goodness . As you rightly said, we Muslims should be united under the umbrella of Kalima, not point fingers at each other’s and get divided by our own Muslim brothers..
It is ironic to hear people nowadays, who do not come anywhere near the stature, piety, and knowledge of our pious predecessors, people who have devoted their life in learning and people like you who studied in prophet ( saw) city, they criticise them, belittle them. Those google sheikhs easily offended when some one else teaches or say different view points or don’t agree with them... If an increase in Islamic knowledge and pious actions instils feelings of arrogance and self-righteousness in people, instead of producing feelings of shame, guilt, regret and fear we need to seriously scrutinise our actions, re-evaluate and wonder whether or not we’re on the right track.
What Allah (swa) demands from obedient people is simply acknowledging that their obedience is a gift and blessing from Allah (swa). It is unbecoming for a true believer to look down at others even if they do come across as being unguided. We should be cautious about such matter because Allah (swa) might take away their faults and give them to us.
As we know before his fall Satan was an extremely religious being, who through his devotions to Allah (swa) managed to reach the status of an Angel. However, he refused to bow down to Prophet Adam (AS) because he thought he knew better then Allah (swa) and considered himself more superior then Prophet Adam (AS). As a result he was banished from Heaven forever. We too, should be careful of our “self righteous/ holier then thou” attitude, which can subtly take us away from Islam.
