    Hi Randy! I love this, you are so fab. I really ENJOY the WAY you teach. You succeed in making the student (me) feel on a equal level, there's no arrogance in your teaching, so refreshing! I have this tool, bought recently, but I haven't tried it yet. This is exactly the video I was hoping for, and from the right guide, thank you.

I have Polly Plastic but didn't think of simply melting it and popping it directly onto the work holder.. also, as someone else commented, this setup probably wouldn't work with my beginner's rotary tool (a Wen) but still good to know... Absolutely brilliant... Ive always wanted to trying engraving... only problem is I ended up buying the Dremel Foriflex pendant motor instead of the Foredom (it was about 💷£100 cheaper tho 🤑). Although both machines handpieces look identical, you can bet theres a hairs width diference and these wouldnt fit lol. Ive been watching (Instagram) and waiting to see this pendant come together and boy did you bring it to life, fabulous job. The engraving really made it pop. Thats the same Liver of Sulphur I use... has a rather 'unique' smell don't you think? 😖🤭😂hahaha. Sending you hugs from little ole England ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

    That polly plastic stuff looks better than pitch. Is it used instead of pitch, or only for certain things?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  4 года назад +1

      So the plastic that I used is mostly used to hold stuff in place. So you can used it for stone setting engraving, drilling or just anything they you need not to move. Pitch can be used to do the same thing for the most part but you need the very hard stuff. Pitch is meant more for shaping your metals because it does slowly move.

    • @juliew1426
      @juliew1426 4 года назад

      @@GomeowCreations I've never used pitch. I haven't tried my hand at stone setting yet. Other than w/ a bezel. The plastic looks so much cleaner than pitch, which looks...well, frankly, gross, but I understand it's useful when making chains and stone setting and such. If I had to make a choice, it would be the plastic.

      @@GomeowCreations No problem! My first career before engineering was as a professional tattoo artist for 20 years. There are a lot of really good techniques from tattooing that transfer amazing to jewelry making. Another way you can mirror image perfectly that is a bit quicker is to draw the first half in pencil, fold paper directly in the middle again (with the first half of the drawing inside the folded paper facing the side to be mirrored)then use a pencil with medium press and scribble very fast on the backside of the paper over the drawing to be mirrored. The pencil lead from the first half will transfer a mirrored ghost outline just like the first technique but it is faster and saves a bit of time.

    buy a magnagraver from Ngraver.

    • @EJguitar1
      @EJguitar1 3 года назад

      Do you have one? Have you made any videos of it in action? I have had the hardest time finding videos of the magnagraver in action. I have this setup and find it way to cumbersome, with the long hammer hand piece, extended even further with the LPFG adapter and graver inserted. I’ve made my own gravers that thread right into the hand piece but the hammer hand piece is still nothing like smooth. Not like an air graver, of course. I’m seriously considering investing in the GRS system, I have just always wanted accurate info on the magmagraver. The foredom power graver setup is another option, but for investing close to $600-650 I think I may as well go for an air engraving setup.
      Anyways, thanks for any help if you’re able!

    • @kevincolwell9575
      @kevincolwell9575 3 года назад

      It (magnagraver) is the best low-cost option. I use it still when I need to do heavy hitting and carving away lots of metal. I have an Artisan from Lindsay that I use for the more delicate stuff. The magnagraver doesn't really do the smooth curves you need unless you are good enough with it to run it on full speed while carving. I don't have any videos, though. Sorry.
