JJ Redick - Constant Motion (Off Ball Movement)

- Did you know that the LA Clippers finished this season as number one in offensive efficiency? After Chris Paul (resume need not be listed) and Blake Griffin (you know, that guy who was third in MVP voting last year), JJ Redick (within Doc Rivers' schemes) is arguably the most important offensive piece for them. His constant movement causes chaos for the defense and creates opportunities everywhere on the floor. A hard curl opens up a drop off down low. A quick flare produces an open triple. Floor spacing generates driving lanes, which allows the Clippers to go into full-on Lob City. Without Redick’s relentlessness, opposing teams could punish Paul, Griffin & Jordan by packing the paint and force them to grind it out. That’s not to say that they can’t still win that way (they’ve been known to grind on occasion), but JJ just jumpstarts the offense.
JJ Redick has improved practically every year he’s been in the league (with the exception of a few down years, which you know, is bound to happen). He’s so incredibly fun to watch and I really enjoy that he’s flourished with Doc in LA. I had originally planned to make separate videos of his passing off the curl, all his flares, a video of him putting the ball on the floor, and quite a few (yes, it was ambitious), but I realized that when those are divided up, the impact of what he does is minimized. Only when all (well, a small portion) of the things he does on the floor are taken together, then we can start to comprehend his significance. You know, that his whole game is greater than the sum of its parts. He's come a long way and he’s definitely not just jumpers anymore.
The pump fakes, the textbook form, the fantastic footwork to get the body squared up and everything turned at just the right time make him a fascinating study. I can’t not like this guy. You should like his game too! He’s hard it hard enough as is. Remember, this was a guy Coach K said had a tougher time than Christian Laettner, and that dude has a 30 for 30 about how much people hate him. Yes, he’s a Blue Devil. Yes, he’s the all-time leading scorer at Duke, but you know, the only people who should dislike him now are the guys who have to run through screens and haul ass trying to catch him.
most underrated shooter in the game. great video.
For some reason, whenever I play as the clippers in 2K, Redick usually scores 30+ points because I take a lot of shots with him. I love his sharpshooting.
Best Highlight by far. Show how important off ball movement should be, especially for a shooter
+JJ Redick You're awfully proud of yourself, JJ.
as he should be bro
JJ Redick by far my favorite player keep doing you
Finding JJ Redick videos are hard to find that aren't Duke videos. Thank you for adding to it. (Hits subscribe)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is what a hard working player looks like.
Simply the best at coming tight off those screens... 😥love watching him
take a drink every time the ball hits the rim.
congratulations. you are the designated driver.
Rip Hamilton did this all the time in his great days as a Piston
effective and consistent plays here, wow!!
he know how to shoot off a run. not many players can do that
It's wicked hard
Steph curry can do that
@@makahranas7365 that is not many
@@acer7217 not really, most of the time he creates the shot himself
4:48 DJ knew he can make a shot
+Kenny110 why?
lol hell yea he did
+Kenny110 that teammate faith
Thanks for your uploads! Your videos are very unique and give an up close angle that most basketball spectators don't see in the game of basketball. You deserve a lot more subscribers than you currently have.
1:22 best read (by redick AND paul) imo
This is art.
his motion is unbelievable , they should let him handle the ball as well
That would beat the purpose of the off ball catch and shoot style
JJ reddick on the clips was one of the best first quarter scorers ever. it was crazy to watch he literally played way better in the first lol
Mans got Hof catch and shoot badge
Great video. Shows different ways to get open: curl, pop, fade, dribble handoff, curl and pass to roll man. Great job
I could watch this all day
Awesome video.. thanks for sharing!

Great vid, thanks.
J.J. would have been awesome in Portland with those, "Set Plays" off Flare Screens. Kind of sad he's going to Philadelphia 76ers.
Please spare me the speech about how much they are improving.
Different players get injured every 2 weeks.
You should do one of these for Kyle Korver. great video by the way.
and show how he uses and gives screens and uses cuts to score.
+Jake Miller I'm already at work on it. I did a video about how Draymond Green's screening opened up a lot for GSW but Kyle is just as potent in Bud's offense with his surprise pin downs and such, so when I make it, it'll be a cross between this Redick video & the screening one.
+Evin Gualberto ok sweet i will definitely be checking out that dreymond green video. This is a great way to show players talents. Thank you for responding. keep up the great work!
Jake Miller Much appreciated & I hope you enjoy the videos!
I miss JJ Redick. I was waiting for him to enter top 10 in 3’s but then he retired.
When you have a guy like this who can make about three or four on any night even a bad night of the screens. Two of the most explosive bigs in history to just lob it up too. as well as other reliable players Cp should be averaging 13 assist a game he has a lot of talent this is more than enough ti get you past the second round.

Rip Hamilton!!!
Clippers JJ and 1Q floppy too classic
the sixers will be must see tv!
Damn he takes alot of long 2s
Usually starts on the LEFT SIDE, that way the defender will always be trailing on Reddick's NON-DOMINANT hand. The only way to get to Reddick's right hand (Shooting Hand) is to foul him.
He would have fit well with the warriors
Can you do another Jimmy butler lockdown, the other vid got blocked
MultiBatmanSuperman I'm actually trying to figure out what exactly went wrong with that one, and maybe just redo it, or maybe improve on it. Either way, you will undoubtedly see a Jimmy Butler defense video on my page again.
their starting line up was formdable
Hi Evin
Did he ever take a shot on the right side of the court?
came here because of LA Clippers Be like for the comparison lmao
Oh? So this is the guy Chris Paul got majority of his 10,275+ assist from?
Can you do a defensive video about Nick Calathes or Matthew Dellavedova. They are really underrated defensively, especially Dellavedova, I mean, this dude is a pest.
***** I totally hear you about Delly. I've been working through Cavs clips so I've seen him annoy dudes. I first took notice of him when USA played Australia in the knockout stage, so I don't know if I can find enough clips but I'd love to make one (at some point) if I can. Calathes might be even more difficult to make, just because the Grindhouse is fun to watch for defense, but people aren't in a rush to upload clips about that unfortunately.
Long story short, if it's doable with the clips out there, it'll get done.
Did u hear mark Jackson say bullshit
Hahah, he says motion as in "motion floppy action" but it sounds close now that you mention it
More defensive highlights
Watchwhereyourgoing youfool Don't worry. I LOVE doing defense videos, so there's definitely going to be more when I can get enough clips.
jj would be the worst person to play tag with
I'm kobe
