Removing the front seats head rest, putting the seat in the fully foward position, then nfully reclining the seat makes for a decent sleepable seat in a jam. Similarly the rear seat bottoms folded forward and the backs folded down creates a flat space that's large enough to load a 2005 Honda Ruckus 50cc or throw an air mattress and an Igloo cooler, plus a Colman camp stove and go trekking deep in the wilderness or exploring off road trails...its better than sleeping on the ground in a tent.
Nice Passport! I currently daily drive an ‘02 Isuzu Rodeo with 129k miles! These cars don’t get as much love as the 4Runners, but I love these cars so much!
Awesome little SUV! We used to have an 01 Rodeo with the 5 speed and it was great. Just keep an eye on that auto, it's a gm 4l30e and has a very high failure rate. Also the 3.5 DI engine has a lot of power, but it's very hard to find parts for being basically a one year only engine.
Thank goodness, my Honda Passport Is from Texas It's only true, That it's only rear wheel drive because of it and I'm from South Dakota, but it's 200000 miles and no rust.
Very nice for a thousand! Just in the past two days my brother bought a 2002 Chevy suburban for 1200 with 350k miles and a 2006 Volvo S60 T5 with 123k miles I like them both and they need minor work but it's tempting me to buy a S60 2.4 T5 as my third car
Hellz yeah, great vid as always and happy you got yourself another off roader. I've always liked the old school passport look. The more boxy type SUVs. My cousin has the latest passport and the interior is AMAZING and spacious but not a fan of the soft rounded exterior.
had a '98 auto passport a few years ago i picked up for $2500, it was a super clean one owner car and i loved it but had to let it go. probably going to be picking up a '99 manual passport this week for $800, crank no start. couldn't be more excited to fix it up and bang some gears on old logging trails in it
I have the exact same vehicle but black. I've owned it for ~100k miles (198k currently) and have always loved it. I drove it from Denver-Vegas during a huge snow/ice storm and cruised that crazy storm that hit northern CA a couple years back, with no worries. My only complaints are: They have a terrible turn radius. Mine appears to have Isuzu rims on it so I'm looking to swap them to see if its better. You have to use more power than I think you should on hills. It always wants to you push it more to keep pace or engage the passing gear. This could be speed of where I live. State has lower speed limits. Also: Be careful who you let remove/install your front skid plate and don't use air tools to put it on. Do it yourself once and you'll see what I mean.
Excited to see how this build progresses, I would look into the transmission tho. I own a 1998 Honda Accord V6 with a 4 speed auto and those trans’ are notorious for slipping. But mines at about 260k kilometres and still running… but not sure how much longer 😂 but I plan to run her into the ground
@@BernonCars phew thank god! Would not wanted a video next week being like “the paint is going to have to hold off for now as my car cannot shift out of first” 😂
@@BernonCars ahh yeah I blame RUclips cause I looked for one but just now I see it Thank you. I own a 2013 xc90, so I guess you could say I felt insecure hahah. Best of luck with your new digs. I found it on Facebook Marketplace! It’s funny I thought it was one of those scam posts at first bc the seller deleted the listing after I messaged them lol. Then a day later I saw it back up and jumped on it!

Interesting!! That’s neat.
I'm not even mad it's not a 4runner that truck looks sick!

It’s quite rare to find another from SD cheers mate!!
when we had a 1998 Honda Passport, our EX model had a spare tire on the tailgate along with a sunroof.
Interesting! Neat to know
Can't wait to see what you with this Bernard.
I’m most excited about the green!

Yeah!! Nice!! Both good finds. They’ll clean up well too!
I can't wait to start wheeling with this AHHHHH
Thanks for reminding me that before I buy a used car I'll have to buy tons of cleaning equipment to get rid of the icky stuff.
So so nasty!!

Nice!! I bet a 5spd one would be fun as hell
My parents had one and it was bulletproof which was crazy when I learnt that they we full of complaints about them
Yeah interesting!
We had one when I was little it was horrible compared to our old faithful 1988 Honda Accord hatchback
A welcome addition to the fleet! Now we have something else to reveal...
Two things!!

Oh wow thats cool! Yeah they’re charming in their own special way LOL
I still daily drive my 2001 Honda passport and I gotta say it’s so reliable !
They're solid little trucks for sure!!
First vid I've seen from you. Pretty awesome. Looking at this same rig now
Welcome aboard!!
I have a 2004 rodeo with the 3.5 GDI engine. It's great, however be aware that there are problems with finding correct parts once you go that route.
Interesting! Good to know!
Good to Know, I'll go with a Muffler delete...
Have a 98 Passport EX 4x4 with 155k and everything works. Bought in 2003 and it's a daily driver.
Nice! Solid little vehicle.
How did I just find this channel
I knowwwww

What happened to Thor / your XC90, did you cover that in another video? You should consider making videos of your time with a vehicle start to finish.
I did! Made a video right before selling it!

Love to hear it!!
I took mine to moab. It's on my channel
Ohh I'll check it out!
What size tires do you have on it? They look awesome!
They were 265/70/16!
Interference engine?
When the timing belt goes, the engine losing timing can cause catastrophic damage to interference engines
Will the number and grill fit a 99 amigo?
They should!
