    Hi Tomasz, thanks for great videos like this and other security focused videos that no other “youtuber(!)” could mention or even understand the difference on these tech details.
    If possible, it’ll also be interesting to see Toyota C-HR matrix adaptive led (not auto high beam) video as well. They used the same blade technology with Lexus RX 5years ago that, until Audi’s lazer came up, was the first runner of high speed(400rpm) led lighting as well as adaptive lighting with 24 leds. Not sure if it can reach as far as Audi lazer but interms of area coverage and speed to light adaptation might be either close or might be even better (again, 5years old tech :) ). A performance comparison would be very interesting to see.
    Thanks again and wish you a great day

      You can treat the brightness(luminous intensity) in the center of this audi to be somewhere around 400,000 cd(which is the legal limit) when the laser light turns on.

    Insane! Great demo! I wish they would turn off the laser automatically for the sweeping turns. For example at 2:34, the trees straight ahead are too bright. Turning off the laser at this point would improve contrast to the left where the road is going.

      Good point that’s often not thought of. Light uniformity and how are eyes adjust to light is very important and we can’t just throw the brightest lights on cars and expect it to be the safest

    Jeszcze do niedawna, kawałek blachy, żarówka i klosz.
    Dziś to wyrafinowane, skomplikowane urządzenie, sterowane przez komputer a dzięki czujnikom, niemal świadome.
    Swoją drogą, jeśli kamera tak to widzi to na żywo musi dopiero robić wrażenie.

    Bardzo fajny test. Ciągle śledze postęp w oświetleniu i po regresie technologicznym grupy VW z okresu 2018-2021 teraz ewidentnie coś poprawili w działaniu świateł. Hella opracował całą generacje nowych ledów dla grupy VW, zaczynając od HD matrixów dla Touarega i Cayenne. Chyba ciągle jeden poziom niżej niż digital light z Mercedesa, ale już nie ma tak dużej różnicy. Ciekawe jak na ich tle wypadłyby nowe światła w BMW (nowa 7-ka lub 5-ka), bo BMW w przeciwieństwie do Audi czy MB zupełnie nie chwali się technologiami tych świateł. Kiedyś BMW miało lasery, teraz to są po prostu adaptacyjne światła matrycowe, w 7 nie da się wybrać żadnej opcji poza kryształkami które pełnią funkcję ozdobną.

    • @marooonio
      @marooonio 9 месяцев назад +1

      Mi się wydaje, że te światła z Audi zawsze świeciły i działały! trochę lepiej niż te w MB - chodzi mi głównie o zasięg świecenia i płynność działania/wycinania obiektów.
      Co do BMW to faktycznie one mnie najczęściej raziły po oczach z marek premium, podobnie w sumie jak VW i Skoda.

    I wonder the cost is to replace these complex lighting systems for very minimal gains. If you drive to your conditions I can't even see the true benefit of these lighting systems over traditional LED headlights. I feel cars are becoming over complex for no real reason apart from trying to be different. Does any know the replacement costs for these lights if involved in a frontal collision?

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  8 месяцев назад +2

      Are you sure you do not see the advantage of Matrix LED over the standard LED? :) 00:43 do you think you will see the truck parked on the left side? Similar to 02:45. Do you think you will see trees (and sth. what can be between them) just in front of another car like shown?
      the cost of lamp replacement is extremely easy to find on every big auction site in your country. In Europe it costs around 1500-4000 per each lamp depends on the model and year of car production.

      @figjam5181 8 месяцев назад

      @@1001cars I am sure I can't see the true advantage of this system over traditional LED head lights. My vehicle uses current advanced LED lighting and it works great. Lights up the road perfectly. I agree the Laser system is better, but at what cost. Driver education is more important. Bringing more and more complexity into vehicles is not solving the road toll. Not in Australia anyway. Vehicles today are becoming to complex and the main reason is that luxury brands are looking for ways to differentiate their brand from others. I have a lot of safety systems in my vehicle that I find intrusive and distracting. If I am alert and concentrating and driving to my conditions, this is the best way.

Once I have a deer on my road and I could avoid hitting them only because I saw it JUST BECAUSE matrix LED lights (there was another car in front of me, so with regular LED lights I would not be able to use highbeam at that time). It would not have been possible to see the animal without matrix lights. Laser lights are much LESS important function than matrix LED. I published many, many movies which shows how important matrix lights are.

    You guys think that's impressive? You should see my Heretic Studio 42" LED light bar on my Lexus GX460, you can see more than 1000 meters out at night 😁
    However I do like the Dynamic LED headlights on my GLE 580.
    As for the laser function on the Audi headlights, I do like them however they should've made them swivel independently as well

      I’m a Mercedes fan, but Mercedes doesn’t have night vision camera, that’s really annoying because most of luxury Audi’s and BMWs have it, but Digital Light (can be installed on every Mercedes) has “Ultra beam” light that is lighting veeery far away, further than laser lights on Audi and BMW, but the only problem with it - it is fully automatic and you can’t turn it on when you want, it turns on when there is no cars in front because it can’t “avoid” them

      @@1001cars Really? They were blinded right when they drove by at the end. It happens EVERY TIME to me. Also the system does nothing when there are bushes in the middle that slightly block the headlights of oncoming traffic. Do you really think that just because it seemed to work almost okay in this video for the 3 cars that we saw that it always works like that? Especially as soon as the sensors are a little bit dirty? There are plently of videos showing exactly what I speak of. Even under this video, just scroll down a bit.

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  2 месяца назад +1

      Somehow, when watched the movie frame by frame other drivers were not visible = were NOT blinded. 2nd: you have to decide: was it ok when two or three cars are in front of Audi Matrix system or not, because once you said it did not, once it did.
      "Especially as soon as the sensors are a little bit dirty?" you should give your driver licence back because you want to drive with dirty windshield.

    • @mjn5016
      @mjn5016 2 месяца назад

      Where did I contradict myself?
      Also you can clearly see the people in the car at 2:49 min.
      Do another test if you are so sure. Switch cars and put a camera in a normal car (not an SUV, you are alot less likely to get blinded if your seating position is 1m above most other people) and have the Audi be in the oncoming traffic. See if it blinds you. Do a couple of different scenarios like highway and a rural road for example and just TEST it a few times.
      Preferably in different weater conditions. The glare alone that these headlights produce in the rain is extreme. Im not saying that these arent great ~70% of the time. But other drivers dont care if it works great MOST of the time. They care when they can't see anything. And that sadly happens alot. You show a 7min video of handpicked examples and say "I can't see the other drivers, so they can't be blinded!" Do a test then. BE the other car for once.
      Or maybe me and the many thousand other people who experience the blinding on a daily basis are just lying. idk.

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  2 месяца назад

      @@mjn5016 Everything what you are saying is complaining about LOW beams, not high beams which are tested here. 99% of people who have problems with - as they think - matrix lights - are in reality blinded by regular LED LOW beam lights. They even cannot recognise what car did they passed. Yes I made a test from another car and I was not blinded by highbeam from Audi Matrix LED. The driver at 2:49 was not blinded.
