Boiled chicken isn't really harmful. It's safe to eat. I don't think it should be in the same comparison as chicken washed with soap.
@@greyskymy boiled chicken is the saddest way to eat chicken in my opinion, it's not that much healthier than oven baked chicken too I don't think, like I would eat the whole thing, get full and not eat again for a few hours after the meal and I think that should be the goal, not forcing yourself to eat stuff that makes you gag and remain hungry after not being able to finish a quarter of it. Tho nothing against ya if you like boiled chicken with little to no seasoning on it
The washing of the chicken reminds me when I was about 8 y.o. and my Mom told me to wash the potatoes and when at dinner time my dad asked to my mom why does the potatoes taste like soap? She was confused and asked me how I washed the potatoes. I told her with soap and water.!
Well all 8 of my siblings laughed, my dad fell off his chair and my Mom was trying to hold her breath ,then say to me " You don't wash food with soap!" Hands yes Food No!

The wrapping the lettuce isn’t what gets me. It’s the washing the chicken with soap that disgusts me the most about the chicken recipes. And the rice paper ramen and the ketchup cake 🤮
i'm quite lae, but what gets me, is the sheer misuse of food items in this video. Like the "healthy Chicken wrap" that's more Mayo than anything else.

As far as I've seen the 7-11 sushi is chopped up krab sticks mixed with a little mayo and rolled up with rice and nori, so yes, inherently more trustworthy as it is all fully cooked, assembled by machine, and contains precisely 0% dish soap.

Nothing she did in this video, with the exception of using dish soap to wash a chicken, would poison her or anyone else. Would it taste bland and mostly like mayonnaise objectively yes but poison no. Not saying any of these recipes are good or shouldn't land you in a gulag by any means though.

I had an aunt who, as heavenly entities as my witness; used to toss chicken breasts into boiling water and swear that she was “broiling” them…. I asked her about the broil feature on her oven, and I do quote: “That’s not broiling chicken, it’s baking them.” I gave up trying to show her. She was 53 years old at the time and worked in a hotel’s kitchen. Needless to say, we didn’t eat any of her “cooking”.

Most customers were usually using the rooms for a few hours, if you know what I mean so I’m guessing that’s how she got the job. lol my sister just reminded me that she also claimed putting potatoes in her chili made it spicier. I mean yeah the soap can quite literally make you sick (as well as having the chicken touch your germ infested sink), but I’ve seen videos where people will use bleach on their chicken breasts. Like ma’am your gramma may have done it but you shouldn’t be doing it given the numerous warnings and knowledge about bleach. It’ll kill some of the bacteria, but it’ll kill you too.

If anyone washes any meat it's redundant, and debatable dangerous if they don't clean the sink thoroughly afterwards. The heat of cooking is for killing the bacteria, there's literally only downsides of washing/rinsing meats before cooking

I am still dumbfounded at the fact that there are people out there who genuinely think cleaning your food with soap, is safe and viable
I don't usually rinse my chicken, but sometimes I actually do. (Rinse, not wash. Don't use soap on food unless it's food with a thick waxy skin that needs to be peeled off like cucumber or something.)
But, I do rinse my chicken if I want a really good crust on baked or fried chicken. If you rinse the chicken lightly and then pat it dry/ let it sit to dry on paper towels for a minute while you prep ingredients, the. It'll take dry ingredients better. Whether it's a dry rub or a layered batter/breading, it always takes better to chicken that's been rinsed and dried.

For those wondering, the reason all the chicken looks dry af, is because boiling it tends to draw out the moisture, so you’re likely gonna end up with better tasting water then chicken.
Yes, it looks horrid. Chicken breast has a hard enough time staying moist.
Thats why you cook it in the oven (or slow cooker) with a big helping butter. Moist every time.

I've actually had vegetarian lasagna that they used black bean crumble, in place of beef and it was pretty good.. but the trick was everything else was like a normal lasagna, and the beans weren't canned beans, liquid and all.

Boiling chicken does - usually - make it juicy at least.
That said, it's a good way to enjoy some absolutely flavorless chicken. I reserve boiling chicken for applications such as soup: Boil the chicken and it makes its broth. Add the APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF SEASONING (which most of these TikTok channels seem to forget about) and veggies, etc. I usually use it to make chicken and dumplings and so do the drop style of dumplings.
ANYWAY, all that said: There are reasons to boil chicken and boiled chicken will usually have a good amount of juice. It's just not going to have any flavor.
For a chicken wrap, I'd want to pan fry it so it had some sear on it (there are lots of ways to do it, that is what first came to mind). Also - if you are trying to be healthy - put some more veggies in it! Wrap it with less mayo and then tomatoes, onions, bean sprouts would probably be nice, whatever veggies you feel like (hell, carrots and even a little raw broccoli might be good!) but don't just wrap it with NOTHING!

Bots… anyways so this comment kind of hurt me because making a chicken broth requires *boiling* a chicken. Also this method which is not boiling but still similar is my favorite: steaming chicken. (I’m Asian and love eating all types of meat on occasion so it is normal for “weird” preparation)

I think one of the worst things to come out of tiktok is the washing the meat thing got popular and widespread. You don't have to wash the meat. Cooking it gets rid of all the bad things that raw meat has.

Cheese on ramen is something that we do in Korea also cook in milk makes it's very creamy, and using boiling water on chicken is a real thing do it restaurants it tightens the skin an when you dry it makes it very crispy

No, no. The lasagna is onto something. It's like molletes (bread + beans + melted cheese). So bread and cheese taste well. But not sure if pasta will work like a bread replacement... Also, I don't want to find out what the light on my head will do if I say it was a good idea.

It's a tight competition between Britain and the US to see who can make the worst possible food concoctions.
I never ever have seen Lasanga sauce in a jar - its called Bechamel and its only butter, Flour, Milk, a pinch of Salt and some Nutmeg. A few years ago i saw in Supermarket expensive "Pancake Mixture" - you "only"have to put in Milk and Egg and mix. Incredible - the 200g Paket costs 10 times as if i bougt the flour and put a pinch of salt in it and add the egg and milk.(In Germany we make Pankes like you do it in France and not the thick way America does where is added bake powder) Some really dont know how to cook.... I moved to Panama - there are pancake mix available - but you only add water - and i never bought - a milk farm is my neighbour and even i had no time yet to make a home for chickens - i can get eggs from my neighbours hens by giving them Ananas or Lime or other things which grows in my garden...

-Sauces (all kinds)

Rinsing chicken is unnecessary because the heat from cooking it, not only the temperature but the duration, kills any harmful bacteria but adding dish soap can cause chemical contamination. Both steps show she's on Kay's Kitchen level of cooking.

meat dont need to be washed, especially if you wash chicken you will only drag salmonella through ur kitchen so it is in fact quite dangerous. you can dry it with kitchen towlettes so it will brown better but the heat we put meat through already desinfects it.
