    Lovely wild edit Rich. Worked really well. Very well captured that moment with the ponies running and the first night astro shot too. Hope all well and thanks.

      Cheers Barney! Was some amazing scenery but day 2 was definitely more like type 2 fun due to hot weather, a heavy pack, not a great deal of water and being an old knacker! I kept dreaming of sitting under an umbrella in a beer garden with a cold pint… cheers for watching pal 👍

    Watched it with headphones on Rich and the sound was excellent. Birdsong almost all of the way through. The last time I was up on Sugarloaf, it was a tad breezy 😂. The weather looked stunning throughout, in contrast to just a couple of weeks ago. Enjoyed it as always. Best wishes Jiffy 👍🏻

      Despite the few solid days of fairly baking heat the path was still very boggy in places - I dread to think what it must have been like before that! And yep the skylarks were going nuts from about 4am until 10pm, I didn't realise quite how loud and persistent they were until editing the vid! Thanks Jiffy mate, always appreciate your time and comments 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      Haha I had a 6oz one for night one (I did have a pint before setting off mind) and the bigger 8oz one for night 2. It was probably about right given the heat, sweat and water situation! But yeah, I wish Nalgene did a perfect 70cl size (and maybe a 35 too) for bottles of wine or spirits... Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Thanks Andy. I much prefer public transport but I'm still reeling from the cost of this one, it was ridiculous😬. Could have flown abroad for much cheaper - we really need to sort it out in this country!

    nice to see you out again Rich, superbly done, as always. do you ever wonder when you’re about to take a swig from the old flask whether it should be held edges up (smile) or down (sad)? I’ve become an edges up guy of late. just thought I’d share that with you. 😃 safe travels and be well. 👍🏼✌🏼🖖🏼

    • @CottonBud
      @CottonBud  4 месяца назад +1

      Lordy you are right - I've been holding it 'sad' just because of the ergonomics of having ones thumb in the cleft, when really the physics would dictate that 'smile' is more efficient for flow! I can't thank you enough for this info, it's a game changer... Cheers for the watch, comment and top tips TF! 👍

      Thank you! The camera is a Sony A7CII body with 4 interchangeable lenses - a wide angle, a zoom, a large aperture prime, and a kit lens. Quite a lot to carry! The hat is a Columbia Bora Bora - a present from a dear friend, it was perfect for these rare sunny days! Cheers from the UK 👍

    I'm hoping to do this route myself :) Haven't been as far as Hay on Wye yet. Can I ask how you made it back once you finished in Hay on Wye? Did you have a car waiting at the finish point or did you use buses/taxis? Trying to figure out how I can get back to Abergavenny from HoW you see!

    • @CottonBud
      @CottonBud  Месяц назад +1

      Hi! I got a bus from Hay to Hereford, which is one stop along the same train line back home to Crewe. I can’t remember the number of it, but it went from Cardiff to Hereford, via Brecon and Hay. Not sure it stopped at Abergavenny unfortunately… but you can get a train from Hereford to Abergavenny quite easily.
      The tourist info place in Hay, right by the bus stop, was worse than useless at providing any info about this bus at all sadly.

      I'll be all over that video, thanks Joe! I was on the Beacons Way, Offa's Dyke, and Cambrian Way paths at various points. A week long hike sounds like what I should be working towards really, and this may be a great one! Only thing that puts me off a little is the Pen Y Fan bit - whenever I've driven past that car park at the bottom it looks heaving!
      Thanks for watching and commenting.
