- Okay - 6 A.M. Alarm. Shower. Coffee. Office. You answer emails, type a program, write, build, design, make calls. Finally - lunch! Do you have time today? Nope, gonna have to skip again - tight deadline on that report. It's already dark outside when you head home and fall into bed, exhausted.
Work has become our existence - you’ll spend 1/3 of your life doing it. Though, that statistic is probably higher for many. But what if we take it all away? What if all the jobs just vanished one day?

SUMMARY:
-You wake up simply because you’re well rested! The weather is beautiful outside the window, you're not in a hurry, you don't need to do a single thing right now.
-You ride to the park, sit on the grass, and call your mom. You chat for hours. Then, you meet up with friends you haven’t seen for ages.
-With nobody working at the power and water plants, you’ve lost social media, the Internet, running water, electricity and gas.
-People are already tired of the extended vacation and don't know what to do! They’re looking for a job, any job for anybody!
-There's nobody inside now, but the place is ransacked. You can’t call the police because it doesn’t exist any more.
-You walk out, dozens of people surround you. They offer you help in every form. Replacing wheels for apples, fixing bike chain for oil, and so on.
-The stranger walks you to the last refuge for workaholics that pretend to be working out of habit.
-People head to the countryside and live off the land, try to be self-sufficient. There is no more money. As for anything that resembles an economy, it’s based on trading goods and services. People start working for pleasure.
-Self-driving cars, artificial intelligence replaces bank tellers, customer service representatives, IT specialists, even hotel receptionists - this becomes new reality.

That would truly be a dream come true, we've had the ability to automate 90% of jobs for decades now anyways, it's human inability to escape the artificial system we've created that incentivizes profits over everything else.
Think about it, I don't want a job, what I want/need is access to the necessities of life. Intelligence distribution of resources is what's needed, not jobs.
Also, climate controlled greenhouses exist, you can grow bananas in Canada, why import them across the world?
Robots are incapable of rising against us unless they were programmed incorrectly. Spreading technological fear has the same effect as warmongering, enough people believe it and it has to come true.

If everyone lost their jobs, there would be no one there to collect bills or throw you out.
A makeshift shelter would be considered a home, like primitive men.
Technically, we could reduce our work hours, but the cost of living in many areas doesn't allow that. In the areas where the cost of living is lower, reducing work hours wouldn't be so bad.

I honestly thought this was going to be a serious take on the possibility of automation largely replacing the need for work in the future.
This wasn't a look at a future where society no longer needs jobs. It's a future of a society in collapse. Not a very realistic take at that either, just a very simplistic way of portraying things.
Karen Reddy my sentiments exactly. If they did what we both expected people would realize that automation was actually a plausible process that should be in place now, thus awaken the possibility of this really occurring... not what the 1% want!

What this video actually proves is that is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to exist in a world without jobs. Work,for better of worse, is a natural part of living. The scenario presented at the beginning of the video is very commonplace but it really begs a more accurate question, namely, "If am so unhappy with my situation in life is it because I have a job that I am not suited for?" So many people are unhappy with their lives not because of the situation that they are "stuck with" but because they trap themselves with self-limitation. This sounds like the future described in Zeitgeist. But AI deciding not to work for humans is a misconception. It is Humans that feed AI with data and program what is desirable and what is not. If AI determines that they should not work for Humans, it isn't because AI figured it out, it is because their IT Programmers allowed it, or IT Programmers intentionally taught the AI that it is undesirable to work for Humans. Since AI isn't perfect, IT Programmer jobs will still be necessary to troubleshoot AI algorithms and/or bad data input.
