@@MizitkuC0zplayzWoah congrats! Usually periods last from 3-7 days so always carry an emergency kit to school/work. I recommend pads. Your flow will be heavy for the first 2-4 days.
You should take pain killers like ibuprofen and heating items to reduce cramps. Also, at night time try to wear biker/stretchy shorts so your pads stay in place.
Remember, your monthly cycle won't be consistent at first and will sometimes be late! That's perfectly normal! 😋
I got my first period 2 months ago, the best tip is talking to your mom haha.

You flush the toilet and open the pad at the same to cover up the noise of the pad unwrapping. Easy peezy!!

Young ladies who are just starting out, here’s some advice for swimming on your period (from someone who has had her period for 5 years and lives in Florida).
#1 No matter what you think or what anybody else tells you, no matter how exhausted your options are, never, EVER wear a pad in water! It would be better to wear nothing at all. I speak from experience.
#2 Some people say to wear tampons while swimming. I have never done this, so I don’t know personally how well it works. Since you are on the internet anyway, look it up and make sure you change it at the appropriate times.
#3 There is such thing as a period swimsuit. It’s like a regular swimsuit with a thick gusset (the part where a pad would go in underwear). I have one, but I haven’t tested it yet as I haven’t needed to.😅 But this is the alternative to wearing a tampon. The ones I have seen are rated for relatively light days, so maybe try to avoid swimming on days 1 and 2, because those are usually the heaviest days, or only swim for a short period of time (no pun intended) and make sure you have access to a bathroom and fresh supplies when you get out of the water if it’s a heavy day. But if you are young and just starting to get your period, you may not have to worry about it being too heavy for the period swimsuit. Just follow the manufacturer directions for washing afterwards.

Update: Just tried out my Beautikini period swim shorts on the first day of my period and they worked great. No leaks, and no stains on white boat seats! I used them for about four hours with one hour in the ocean. Plus, no sharks in sight! 😂 I was skeptical, but trial by fire proved these to work! Best purchase I’ve ever made.
It’s also not necessary to go swimming at all if you aren’t up for it. But I personally have had a few times in the past that I have been pretty upset that I couldn’t go in the water, so if I can help other girls avoid missing out, that’s an achievement in my book.

@@Thetastycookies7 If you are in a pool, get out like a normal human being.
If you are in the ocean, a river, lake, etc:
Get out and find a bathroom if you are using a tampon. It’s probably just better to change it regularly because the excess water will reduce the absorbency. Again, I have no experience with tampons, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
If you are using a period swimsuit, I would follow standard “procedure” for peeing in a natural body of water. To keep the swimsuit from absorbing urine, I think you can try pulling it aside just enough to pee (obviously go away from people).

Here are some period tips u need to know for those who got their period for the first time ( bc i think for people who have it know these tips)
Never shower on the firt day of your period your yk will start to burn and you wont sleep very well
Keep atleast 2 pads with you when u go out / or school
You will crave certain of food it depends
Never starve yourself on ur period its dangerous
The colour of it doesnt matter it depends
It will last at least A week / or 4 or 5 days ( who knows)
Never wear white it can show it can show wear black
If u have cramps take a warm bottle of watter and place it in ur tummy
I suggest to wear comfy clothes when ur on ur period but black ok ( like a hoodie and some pants )
Drink a lot of water ( it hrlps for the cramps and its good for u on ur period)
Here are the colours of the period
It can be
Red
Dark red (like even darker then red itself)
Brown
Black
Dont freak out ok girls its ok make sure to hide the pads when ur in school or work etc

@lmjxw u can shower but not with soap just with water no soap or it can burn on the ourside part u can with soap but on inside with water to keep it fresh and healthy down there

I do different thing i put piece of tissue paper in stick pad on it i don't get stain few years later i got lots of stain because i have heavy flow and all stain on tissue paper
