Well now, I built a double sideband DSSC homebrew transceiver for 75M and made contacts all along the eastern US on 1 watt but yes, it is easier with CW ;-) de WA4JAT
Lovely, as always. I wish I'd bought several of those Heathkits when I was a kid. I built one of the CB rigs when I was a teenager. I needed an Elmer. I got home a few minutes ago after hiking with the dog. At the end of our hike, I threw 20ft of wire on top of the sagebrush and another 16ft on the ground. The Elecraft KX1 tunes it just fine and I worked a POTA activator in Arizona. It is a nice break to be able to do a quick setup, play a little radio, and then tear down and go home without spending a lot of time on the setup. 72 de AG7TX
