I find these kinds of videos very interesting, thanks for sharing.
I am also interested in the background of why most of the products from Jamaican agriculture are so heavily contaminated with pesticides that they cannot be sold in European countries, for example (I don't know the limits in the US, they seem to be "more generous"?).
But these fruits & vegetables are sold in Jamaica, and that is why cancer is now the third cause of death there!
I read that when the former British colonial rulers left the Jamaican farm workers untrained & somewhat "helpless" (in other words: as usual, "evil Babylon" is to blame). Isn't that a disgrace, given how long ago it was?
I really don't want to defend 'colonial masters' and I have no idea what state they left the country in...
But does this victim mentality make sense for a constructive new start?
Wouldn't it make more sense to kick them in the ass - and show that you can do it just as well or even better?
Why haven't there been vocational schools for a long time to train Jamaican farmers in organic farming? 🍍🥭🍓🍅🥕🥒🌶🧄🥦🫒🥜🫚🫛🥥
That would be a win-win solution for everyone: untreated, inexpensive local food for the traders/buyers (without ingesting pesticides 🤢!), and much higher yields for the local farmers/vendors!
Of course, you would have to import much less from the US... is that perhaps why they don't want that? 🤔
I'm looking for Jamaican channels with more topics like this... I'd be happy to hear any tips! 🌻🤘🏼😎
