I'm Belgian myself and he just won our national final like 30 min ago so he's going to Basel! Never been so proud of an entry from the country I'm from for real! Really excited to see him on the big stage :))
Red Sebastian got known as a teenage singer in Belgium's got talent 10 years ago. Right when his voice hit puberty. Afterwards he studied music and got coached by Gustaph (Eurovision 2023). Last year he got back on the TV show 'Sing Again' (forgotten talented singers competing) and viewers were amazed by him. Flanders/Belgium is (re)discovering him as an artist just like the rest of Europe.
It's not the final performance. All participants were introducing their songs. This saturday will be their final performance like they will gonna perform on eurovision with background singers, clothing, lights added etc.
He's not famous yet in BE. He participated in 'Belgium's got talent' in 2014 as a 14 year old kid and got into the finals of the show. He released an album in 2021 but it didn't hit the charts though the title song is actually pretty good. So the Belgian audience is discovering him as well now.

Thank you for your support for Red Sebastian! I’d be happy with either him or Mentissa. But I agree that Strobe Lights might be more suited for Eurovision. It already looks and sounds so impressive and this is just a showcase. We have not seen an actual staging yet! ❤

Both Red S and Mentissa are quite new performers for Belgium… but not for long. Red S has my preference because of the goosebumps he gave me. Mentissa’s career will blossom too, but for Eurovision wa support Red S. we go for top 3! 🎉
The song is a little bit messy. The EDM part is decent but his voice is not my favourite. I just feel like this is a Sam Smith X Swedish House Maffia track. I think he will win Eurosong but it's a very hasty statement that he will win Eurovision too.
it's not a winning song, as soon as he was elected, Belgium is no longer the first in the bookies, the guy has no charisma or can sing, and the uproar and screams with the light effects don't pass anymore, already seen....😮
‘Off key’ 🤣 If you don’t like the song (which is okay), just say it. But if you really think this is ‘off key’, than there’s something very wrong with your ears. He probably sings even better than Gustaph two years ago. If you think you can do it better, give it a try! 😉
Overhyped... I love the camerawork and the staging and it's definitely an interesting entry HOWEVER the outfit is not it + the song is too avant garde for the general audience... ain't no way this is winning Eurovision
