Watching with you feels like experiencing it with a friend, and I love how you point out things I might not have thought about. I mostly agree with you btw. Keep up the amazing work! 🌈
I kinda like that they're doing a showcase first without any eliminations so everyone will get a second chance to shine in the final. I think all of these are first drafts that will hopefully be elevated next weekend (I think that's when it is??) Fun fact, Lenn's grandpa is Louis Neefs who represented Belgium in 1967 and 69. Probably won't be following in peepaw's footsteps for now.
That's exactly the goal. They were only allowed to sing without any act this time. Next week they will be doing it more or less exactly how they would do it on Eurovision.

These songs are all pleasant in their own way but memorable is not a word I would use to describe them. I cannot see any of them ranking higher than 20th in the ESC.
I like a couple of these songs and Belgium will probably do fine at Eurovision, but I think some gamblers were a bit overzealous in predicting a Belgium win. There are a couple of potential winning songs revealed this week, but not out of Belgium.
Red Sebastian reminds me a lot of Adam Lambert, especially in the higher notes. Really good quality NF, although I can't really see how Belgium are the favourite to literally win the whole thing
Belgium is definetly top of the odds because of Strobe Lights, and I honestly fully understand why. It does feel like a song that can win the juries. Hopefully not in a landslide like the last two yeaes though... Personally I hope that Belgium will choose Mentissa. Both because I prefer the song and because I'd rather avoid that jury sweep risk completely xD
I don't understand why everyone is loving File A Papa and hating Laura Thorn so much (from what I've seen). I feel like the argument that La Poupee Monte Le Son is too childish can be better applied to File A Papa. I don't hate it but it does nothing for me. Very repetitive and her vocals don't match the beat for me. I feel like Laura has much better lyrics, dynamics, and execution.
These sadly didn’t live up to the early hype. Klavdia (politics and back story aside) with Israel I think klavdia is the current front runner for Greece for me so far

I knew I was going to be disappointed with my own Flemish selection, but all these songs are still better than the whole Slovenian bunch I heard yesterday ! Half of the contestants are related to other known artist, the level of nepotism is absurd, add on to that that some random dude has a foot in 5 of the 8 songs, that screams lack of cerativity ? Red Sebastian and Mentissa are the only ones I would like to see going to ESC this year. Red Sebastian's song lacks some layers and the buildup is indeed too long, it's unique but it needs some kind of a revamp. And Mentissa lacks charisma, if the was more alive and secure on stage I would give her all my support, but she seems so afraid almost on stage. Anyways no winning material, the drop in the odds will be coming really soon. I'mtotally not sure if we have qualifying material at the moment.
There definitely isn’t a contest winner here. Not sure what the hype was for Belgium. They’ve been much more interesting over the past few years (including Mustii). Most of the national finals are disappointing this year though I think, so Belgium might qualify. Hoping for better more original stuff from the internal selections.
You need to hurry up with Slovenia as well. 4 days left for Greece analysis and 6 days left for Belgium analysis and Slovenia reaction + analysis. Ugh, why did they both release yesterday? 3:08 I think the dance break indeed isn't in the studio version since that one has a length of 2:40. 5:45 Now that Luxembourg have chosen a French song, Benelux have the unique opportunity to all send a song in (partly) French. That would be quite something. 8:20 Brendan Murray? Actually, in 2023, we had Watergun 💧, last year Firefighter 🔥, so next we need a song with Air and Earth. Here we have Airballoon. Also, he is TALL, isn't he? 10:40 Second song called Monster of the season after the one in Supernova. (12:23 nevermind 😄) 13:05 I can't help it, her name makes me think of that Marina Satti song. 13:28 So effortless, so effortless, so effortless... @@johnmoynahan874 yes I totally agree. I get impression that a very keen euro fan went to the previews and then dropped a couple hundred euro on somebody. There is definitely not a winner here, but there’s some nice songs.
@ESCTom hmmmmmm
Can see all of these NQing though Tom unfortunately
Makes me sad to say that but it's my honest opinion
😪
Almost did a Eurosong (Ireland) 2022 comparing our artists to Adele 😂
No that was Sia 😭
@ Maybe they did her as well, but Paul Harrington likening Janet Grogan to Adele is etched into my brain 🫣
These songs are all pleasant in their own way but memorable is not a word I would use to describe them. I cannot see any of them ranking higher than 20th in the ESC.
Stefanie Callebaut is just next level compared to all the others…
I've tried to like Red Sebastien, but no, it's just not making me feel anything 😳 There were OK songs, but nothing that I really enjoyed.
And somehow at my first listen I liked many of the songs, but now they didn't feel that good anymore. 😢
🔴🏆
Pull up (in my fancy car) lol
😭
I like a couple of these songs and Belgium will probably do fine at Eurovision, but I think some gamblers were a bit overzealous in predicting a Belgium win. There are a couple of potential winning songs revealed this week, but not out of Belgium.
yep, my impression is that they had secret knowledge and heard some decent songs, and wanted to take advantage of that exclusive info
Red Sebastian reminds me a lot of Adam Lambert, especially in the higher notes. Really good quality NF, although I can't really see how Belgium are the favourite to literally win the whole thing
Ditto
Belgium is definetly top of the odds because of Strobe Lights, and I honestly fully understand why.
It does feel like a song that can win the juries. Hopefully not in a landslide like the last two yeaes though...
Personally I hope that Belgium will choose Mentissa. Both because I prefer the song and because I'd rather avoid that jury sweep risk completely xD
But juries aren't really into club anthem / EDM type songs like that, so I really don't think there's any risk of a jury sweep 😂
@@florenna Yeah, maybe a result similar to Switzerland 2021 might be thins songs ceiling, which would probably be fine
What's the back story?
She Survived the massacre in Israel
Stephanie - GLÓRIA!..brilliant
12 POINTS from Portugal ❤
Red Sebastian is an Eurovision winner! 🏆
There definitely isn’t a contest winner here. Not sure what the hype was for Belgium. They’ve been much more interesting over the past few years (including Mustii). Most of the national finals are disappointing this year though I think, so Belgium might qualify. Hoping for better more original stuff from the internal selections.
And this is Red Sebastians performance on Belgian tv. He should win ❤ruclips.net/video/AUVMyk_OzOA/видео.htmlsi=lON8mKogix9WsrQv
jelle reminds me of Luna the tower so much idk😂
Red Sebastian go to eurovision !
None of these songs are winner potential for me. It’s a pretty good NF but they will definitely drop in the odds in the next couple of days
(12:23 nevermind 😄)
13:05 I can't help it, her name makes me think of that Marina Satti song.
13:28 So effortless, so effortless, so effortless... I had to 😄
15:55 Her daughter is also called Gloria.
19:20 Of course, red is in his name after all 😄
Yes I’m only one person, I’m already working 12 per day 7 days a week 😭
Takes a long time to get into strobe light until the high pitch i think its a bit over rated
Grace song is actually a bad copy of Chanel SLOWMO
Good songs, but as a Belgian, I fear none of these songs have it to win Eurovision. We have to hope for a better selection in 2027. My favourites for now are Stefanie, Mentissa and Le Manou.
I agree
Not hearing a Eurovision winner I don’t think but I absolutely love over half of the songs so I’m very happy they are having the national final this year!
