This is what a nice person Henry Winkler is. Years ago my Aunts friend who was a teacher in Wisconsin ,sent out bookmarkers to actors to autograph so the school could auction them off to raise money. Most did not come back. One day she opened her door and there was a big box filled with scripts from Happy Days autographed by the cast. Clothing , etc from the show. What a nice guy. That was above and beyond and took time.
My daughter and I met Mr. Winkler in Philadelphia three years ago. So gracious and down to earth. He autographed a picture of himself as the Fonz on his motorcycle for us. It is proudly displayed in my office. He is the epitome of cool! 😎 God bless you Henry.
I was 8 years old when Happy Days premiered. HUGE fan of Henry Winkler. What I loved about Fonzie was that no matter how tough he seemed to be, the gentle man that Henry is still came through. Such a truly gentle soul.
Henry is literally the most positive nice, share the love kinda guys. It's amazing and inspiring to see a good person make it this long in such a shitty evil industry. Love the guy.
I gave your comment a thumbs up because I'm sure you are right that it's a shitty evil industry. But there are many actors and actresses in the industry that share Mr. Winkler's kindness and humility. I could name several but none need my backing. But Mr. Winkler is, indeed, a standout in the entertainment industry not only for his talent but also for his humanity.
I woke up to a notification for this and didn't even make it out of bed before I started it. I am a huge fan of Henry Winkler as a person, his acting is fine, but he is just a wonderful person. The world could use a few more Henry Winklers.
Henry Winkler was a stud as the Fonz, and he’s still a stud….not to mention one of the most genuine, sincere, and kind people on the planet. Everybody sing it with me, Sunday, Monday, Happy Days…
I first met Henry backstage on the Paramount lot in 1976, 30 minutes before a Friday night live taping. He was at the height of his first huge wave of long-term success as 'The Fonz', I was a 13 year-old boy excelling in sports and lunch and struggling for "C"'s in classwork. Henry could not have been more interested, open, positive, and gracious to me that evening. I have never forgotten a moment of it. I have been around Henry on many, many social, personal, and public occasions since that evening nearly 50 years ago and he has never changed. In my life I have been lucky enough to be friends with, have associations with, stumble into, meet, etc. more World Champions in more sports than you would care to read, Academy Award winners, Grammy, Emmy, & Tony winners, Astronauts, TV Stars, Nobel Prize winners... I have always used Henry Winkler as the absolute barometer of how an individual should treat people, particularly fans.
Our world needs many more Henry Winklers. What a great person. I would love to have lunch with him, I bet it would be amazing to listen to his stories and views on the world.
This is, hands down, the best interview of Henry Winkler that I have ever seen. AC really has something special about his approach to the subject individual. It seems to yield lumps of gold again and again.
Henry Winkler is one of the greats... I grew up watching the Fonz. Learned some sh*t from him about leather jackets and starting jukeboxes that I carry to this day. Respect.
Winkler and Shatner are the youngest older guys ever. It's hard to imagine The Fonz is 76. Henry is so youthful and quick. Great interview Adam. Thanks. Good Luck in the race...🏁😎👍🏎🏆🏁
Wow ~ flawless interview. What a guy! I know a couple of people who have actually met Henry Winkler. He seems to be everywhere. The prevailing thought is "... such a nice guy." He wanted to talk AND listen to them. So humble.
I'm a little late to this conversation, but, I wanted to add that Henry's doing the best work of his career in this most recent season of Barry. I grew up with the Fonz, and loved the Fonz, but this season of Barry is something else. He'll win the emmy, for sure, but, it won't be enough praise.
Shout to Mr Winkler. Born in the 70s, happy days was a staple of my childhood. Loved Nightshift, might’ve been the first movie boobies I saw (doubt I’ll ever be sure). Thank you Mr Winkler for years of entertainment. Keep doing Barry it works for you.
What a nice man. I wrote Henry a fan letter in 3rd grade as an assignment. I think I liked him because I had a lunchbox and a t shirt where Fonzie was throwing double thumbs and saying "aaayyyyyy". I got a form letter back from the Fan Club and was thrilled. I can relate to much of what both you and Adam endured as a kid. My friend's band opened that show for Weezer I do believe.
I’ve listened to Adam for years. I can’t say I agree with all of his politics of late, but it’s never stopped me from appreciating his comic talents. I’m glad he didn’t make a big deal out of the pillow. It was a great interview.
The Weezer video came out with Windows 95. They were trying to showcase the softwares video capabilities. But when I saw the Fonz set to this amazing song it was wonderful!! Talk about pumped up!!
Lovely interview. I love both these guys and really like how Adam interviews. He let's people talk and by doing that people tend to bring things into the light. ❤
I grew up watching fonzie on happy days, and am smiling at what an icon the character became. I've enjoyed Henry Winkler since first seeing him (telling my age, now) in a Vietnam vet movie called Heroes. (1977, I think). I've enjoyed countless works by him since. He's truly an amazing talent.
Hello Adam heard you on Love Line mid 90’s With Dr Dre on 91X here in San Diego late nights. Great Content with Henry slash the Fonze what a humble man. Really like your podcast.
so excited Barry Season 3 is almost upon us.. watched interview with Stephen Root( On The Rich Eisen show) earlier today, and he mentioned they are also starting to write Season 4 but when asked what this season will be like, he said "its all about the consequences of the events that transpired last season finale".. He also had some amazing tidbits like he actually was supposed to be in Kindergarten Cop but his lines were all cut.. could have been even better then it was..
Love the Fonz.. but if that's a Fauci pillow that's so fucking creepy.. and for somebody who's a huge dog lover like Winkler, is he not aware how many Beagles Fauci and his Nazi scientists that's worked under him tortured/experimented on.. I wouldn't lose any sleep if the same was done to Fauci, see how he likes it..
Henry..I still have my big 'the Fonz'' button I wore when I was a kid. And at that time when I figured out we shared the same birthday (October 30th) it was a BIG DEAL!! (I always still wish you a happy birthday too). Great interview👍 aayeee!
Charles Dickens "Christmas Carol" -- Henry Winkler played the best ever Scrooge!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else remember that? Great actor, great human being. Thank you, Mr. Winkler for years of wonderful entertainment!!
I only watched the first season or so of Happy Days and was not a huge fan, but I remember seeing a movie in 1977 with Henry Winkler and Sally Fields call Heroes and was forever smitten with Henry. His version of Scrooge in "An American Christmas Carol" is one of my favorite Holiday movies to this day.
I met Henry at an art gallery around 2000, He was such a nice guy - I was wearing a leather jacket, levis, engineer boots and was holding my helmet, my Triumph was in the parking lot and here I am talking with "The Fonz".... I asked him if it was true he couldn't really ride and he admitted it and then went on to tell me that the Fonz's bike was the same bike Bud Ekins jumped the fence on in The Great Escape - I told him I rode a Triumph in part because of Happy Days - I really did become that kind of guy and I could see almost a slight disappointment in his eyes about that.... :)
Great interview and fun perspective ideas on life. Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get… For it in America at the pawnshop
a masterful interview by Adam. He went places (Henry's parents) that I do not think Henry really wanted to go as of his mood change about 40 minutes into the conversation. Henry is truly one of the good guys in the business and the political take by some on this comment board is old information. Yes, Henry is not a conservative but he is a respectful liberal as show by his comments about his "family" member Biao. A meaning full hour.
Television legend in some of the best television series including the iconic Happy Days as the Fonz. Also a great as the coach in the Waterboy. Current gig Barry is one of my favs.
Amazing that a person who has been so directly affected by socialism and real fascism, that he fails to see that is what the people he supports are all about it. It must be that fallacy that ‘they’ are the ones that will do it right this time, and the world will be perfect and thank them in the end.
We’re on the verge of seeing people like Winkler becoming regulars on the podcasts once they come better with the medium. It’ll be a step ahead when it becomes normal
I had the Fonzie T-shirt and the action figure when I was a kid. Love Henry, always will. BTW if you haven't seen Night Shift, check it out, it's still friggin hilarious.

I agree. Such a nice down to earth man. Really nice to me and my friend when we met him in Tampa at a con.
Any interview of Henry Winkler is great because he is a fantastic human being.

Adam can interview better than most but with Henry I really learned about the man in a way I never heard before. Great job.
Henry is a mensch. I've watched him since I was a kid in the 70's n Happy Days. Great to see him on the show.
Henry is a neighbor of nine and my mom and I would do the voting every year for 40 years and he and his family were always the sweetest people.
