Thanks for the dicount code, saved me almost $400. I am subbing for that. The review was ok also. Lol. The review was great. This was the last review I watched before deciding to trad in my skytrak for a memo plus. Great review, great work. Thanks again
Good review. I've owned my Mevo+ for a year and love it. Putting is terrible outside of 25 feet on most of the sim software options, but everything else is spot on. I get pretty much the same numbers with trackman as I do with the Mevo+. It's a fantastic device and you can really improve by owning one of these units.
Good, detailed review. Thx. The addition of the Pro Package definitely pushed the Mevo+ from the consumer in to the 'prosumer' category. In Australia, the Mevo+ with PP will cost around AUD$4,800. The nearest device that provides the same data is the Uneekor Eye XO and that costs AUD$17,800 here 😳. I wanted that data so was seriously looking at the Uneekor but just before I made the purchase, FS released the Fusion Tracking update and Pro Package upgrade for the Mevo+ . I just purchased them and saved myself $13,000 😁. One issue to note is that you MUST use the usb cable (and power adapter) provided by FS. The Mevo+ is VERY sensitive to the current it is fed and you run the risk of frying the internals if you use 3rd party power adapters or cables.
Hi Sean, your video and written reviews are some of the best I’ve come across. Thanks for all the hard work putting them together as they are really helpful. 👍 All the best, Andrew
I’ve owned the Mevo+ for almost a year now. I use it on the range, in the garage and for simulator play. For the money, it’s absolutely the best. Recently I’ve added Awesome Golf for game play with the kids. Concerning battery life, 80 mins is about the most I can get out of it. However, I do plug into my portable cell phone charger at the range and it keeps the Mevo+ fully charged. Excellent review! Keep up the good work!
Great review! I’ve tried all the monitors from the Mevo+ down in price…my only gripe with the Mevo+ is I don’t need any simulator stuff…wish they offered a discounted version without all that. Other than that, I loved it…just a little rich for me at the moment. So, I’m using the Mevo, but may upgrade…they offer a discount when you trade in the Mevo…One of the best things about a launch monitor that I’ve never seen covered is giving you great data for wind! Since the monitor doesn’t know what the wind is, it gives you what your distance would be without the wind…and, if you’re on the range and can see where it actually lands, you can see that with a 10 mph wind I lose X yards when I’m hitting my 150 yard club, etc…love it…at least on those monitors that calculate distance from the first few feet of the ball flight v tracing the entire flight…Thanks!
Great video! Super informative and thorough. I actually just purchased a Mevo+ and you’re confirming everything that I hoped would be true about the unit. Thanks!
Hi great review - just starting to research these kinds of devices - would have loved to have seen more direct demo of the device. Don't worry about your swing on camera - most of us don't have beautiful swings!
Thank you. Excellent review. Just picked it up in Orlando on vacation. Just concerned that in NYC (driving ranges) I may not have 8FT of clearance. We will see. Like it so far
Another, well known, YT sim reviewer has his unit set just 7' behind the ball and still gets very accurate reads. I think you'd be pushing it to go any less than that though, if you want usable data.
Great review...Adding the pro package is amazing if your into data.. my only wish was there would be a way yo export the data .. but it is still an incredible learing tool... highly reccommend it..
Yeah I'm curious to see if they add a way to export data. Seems like an easy thing to do, and with the $1k upcharge, would be a feature that'd be nice to see.
Great review, concise and thorough. You are good at equipment reviews, keep it up. So would hitting outside with a net, be considered 'Indoor' mode? I'm also anticipating issues with my aluminum travel trailer parked next to my hitting range, maybe some plywood or hard foam insulation leaned up against it to reduce radar reflection?
Yes, from what I've seen hitting into a net is "indoor" mode. I'm going to try one in my pole barn, hopefully it works. It sounds like the interference comes mainly from electronics or machinery, hopefully the metal siding itself won't be an issue.
Good information on the mevo plus. My question is about the 90 min battery life. Can you charge while using the unit? I don’t want customers coming to play a round of golf and the unit stops in a middle of a round of golf. Thanks
Great review, I have one question that maybe you can answer for me. You mentioned that the battery life is only approximately 90 minutes so I was wondering if you can attach an external battery to it?
Yes, I think any of your typical USB out batteries would work. I know flightscope sells their own external battery too. Edit: Flightscope is pretty adamant about using only their charger, so buying their battery might be necessary.
Hi have you got any actual playing footage with these simulators you test? Like how good to the courses look. I’m looking for something I can use to have fun with and also get a good feedback with ball striking position on face ect
I've got some screenshots in the written reviews, on breakingeighty.com - but haven't captured a ton thus far. Will try and incorporate more of that into future videos.
I’ve now been using the R10 for a few months…It’s a great unit for what it is…but, a huge drawback is the ability to really review/compare data…it’s not very good…you can see basic data in a spreadsheet format, but to compare details across shots, it’s not able to do that…so, can’t see things like spin, AoA, apex, etc…across a bunch of shots so I can see why I hit differing shots…so, I think I’m going to drop the coin on the Mevo+…
Great Content! Could you do a comparison between the Mevo+ and Garmin R10? I currently only have a Rapsodo MLM but would like to get another LM that can provide me with more information such as club path, face angle and ball spin numbers as well as be used for a home simulator. Any reason why I should get the Mevo+ since Garmin R10 should be able to do those too?
Thanks Alvin! I've actually been thinking about doing that as my next video, assuming the feedback was good on this one. Generally speaking I think the R10 is fantastic. It's easier to setup than the Mevo+ and you get most of the same features. I'll say the data isn't quite as intuitive and easy to use on the Garmin. It's definitely a little bit more consumer focused with it's app vs the Mevo which feels like a full on professional setup. The Mevo+ is better. But is it over 3x better as the price suggests? Nah. If you're not a diehard and you want something that will do 85% of the Mevo+ for your practicing and home simulator the Garmin R10 is great.
The R10 only measures; ball speed, club head speed, launch angle, launch direction. Every other number it gives you is calculated by an algorithm. The R10 caught my eye too but it is "too good to be true" when it comes to the numbers I really want like side spin. A lot of people online have lied about the R10 capabilities. I'm sure it's good for what it is, but there is going to be a lot of inherent error due to the calculation of most of its values.
Nice review, I have this device. Would you still suggest 18 degree tilt if hitting into a net? I set up short indoor and was under the impression that 11-12 degrees was preferred
Great question. Honestly, most of my tweaking was done outside on a range. It seems like environment can play a big role. For instance if theres flourescent lights or a lot of metal around you when you're hitting inside that can effect it. You might be right on the indoor loft. I only did one session and everything felt about right, but worth doing some tests/adjustments in your specific setup. I'll give it another go inside and compare loft adjustments.
@@breakingeighty My understanding is that the angle of the unit is simply telling the unit where to look for the ball flight. The FS Golf app requires 18 degrees while they recommend 12 degrees for simulator golf like e6 or TGC2019. The lower angle allows the unit to read chips and putts better while the higher angle reads full iron shots better.
I've been doing research for the past 10 days. This product seems superior to skytrack. Is there a PGA convention or similar that I can attend to watchbit live. I live in the Dallas area. I have been to a super PGA store, which has launch monitors. I'm not sure of the brand or models. The tracker is out of my price range, but I feel I can afford this one. I am even interested in the swing preview option. Great job with your presentation. I do have a sizable man cave which is heated & cooled & with 12' ceiling. I am seriously considering some type of package of option. Thank you again for a great presentation. Jimmy Gonzales

Yeah while it's not cheap, it's a pretty ridiculous value for what it is!
A brilliant review. Love the way the tests were so well set up. You’ve got me👍

I literally have one sitting in my office waiting to be reviewed. Hopefully will finally get to it next week.

Did you end up getting the Mevo+?
