    This recipe is lovely. You can easily scoop it out of the jar because it's so light and fluffy, but be warned a little goes a long way! It glides on smoothly, absorbs quickly (about 5 mins max) and leaves my skin soft to the touch. I like to put it on before bed so it has all night to work it's magic. Needless to say I'm a fan.

    I’ve never made body butters so I have nothing to compare this to but I Tried your recipe except I made lavender-chamomile. But let me just say I will never use store bought lotion again lol! It looked like icing or whipped Cream. Felt REALLY silky when I rubbed it on my skin and melted back into an oil if you hold it in your hand. And the best part is that I felt soft and silky after using it. More hydrating than any lotion! My only word of advice is a little bit goes a long way! If you use too much it will look like you were super oily. Anyways LOVED IT!!! Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe!

    • @marieharding1290

      I'm not an expert, but that would make sense to put a preservative in it, if it does have water. You don't want any mold growing.

    Hi Dean. Is it always the rule of thumb when making lotions with butters and oils that you don't need a preservative. I don't want the person having to keep it in the fridge. I bought phenonip and I also bought polysorbate 20. I'm so unsure and don't want to mess up the batch. I know that when water is used that a preservative is needed . Just wondered if on your search you'd heard of anyone using a preservative.I was so excited to see you branching into new territory. Love this simple recipe.I bought the jars in a smoked brown glass to help with temperature control. I have a nice eco style label I use. Lovin your videos. I binge watch them.

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  6 лет назад +2

      I heard the same thing Ellie. That is why I didnt use water in this recipe. If I did, then I would need to add a preservative - something I don't current have. Glad you love the videos :)

    or is it leaving it on the boiler for twenty mins like another youtube did?

    • @DeanWilson

      I have only ever tried this recipe and it worked perfectly. Im sure you could sub the coconut oil for another oil but im not 100% of this, it might make it too soft.

    Wow! I just love the simplicity and speed of your videos. Just one question , what is the correct way to use body butter? Maybe it's a stupid question, but I seriously don't know. Also Dean, could you please make a video on organic face cream? Let the videos keep coming. Best regards, Supriya. India.

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  5 лет назад +1

      I like to let the cream cure in the jar for about 2-3 days before using it. When you do use it, just a small amount on your finger at one time, a little goes a long way and using too much will make your skin very oily. Im not sure about face cream.. I have never made that but when I move this year I will be getting my YT channel back with more videos so I will put it on my todo list. :)

    There are so many recipes out there, but I love this one the most cause it keeps it simple! However, my body butter tends to harden after storing for a few days. Does this mean I need to whip it even more next time? Or less? It's a little cold in my house, about 67F, could that be why?

    • @DeanWilson

      I would say it keeps for 12 months.
      I do suggest keeping this in a draw and out of direct sunlight. We have had some 40+ days here and its stayed solid in the draw.
      But if you use this recipe and you start to see it turn more liquid then you may need to place in fridge.

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  7 лет назад +1

      I use an inkjet, Epson XP-600 printer. It is not the best but it works fine for this job. I might get a laser printer soon.

      Dean Wilson I highly recommend the Epson EcoTank Range I use the Epson EcoTank range and it’s really good and so cheap to run. I also use a waterproof inkjet label for my body wash, shampoos etc. I also use a PVC waterproof label too.

    Hiya daine :) great video, i bet she will love it :).I needed help knowing how much of each ingredient to put in to make my body butter. Thanku this helps alot :) . I'm adding some other essential oils in tho, and I am struggling to find a video that says how much to put in of each, as I know some essential oils are stronger than others. I'm putting these oils together and some others things, please can you help me, with how much to use of each. I have pretty sensitive skin so I need it mild to medium strength. I'd really appreciate it if you could advice me :) x

      I am not 100% but it does not have any water in this recipe so it should not go moldy. The body butter was made Jan 2018 which is over 1.5 years ago and I still have a tub here and its fine. I would not expect it to last that long for a women if she is using it all the time. However if you would like to make 100%, you could add a Preservative - however I have never done this myself so your need to Google it for more information.

    Hai dean... is it possible to ship whipped body butter...does it stay whipped or it will melt

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  6 лет назад +1

      Should be fine. Just wrap it well. If it gets warm it will start to melt, but if you put it in the fridge for 2 hours it will be solid again. Just keep out of direct sunlight and you will be fine.

    The true test for any body butter is how it looks after a couple of months. Most. if not all, will go completely flat after a month.
