Messer Basics: Playing with the Point

This is one of a small series of videos about the very basics of how to use the long knife, or langes messer, that I will be making as a video review/study aid for my students at Arme Antica. This is material based on Leckuchner and Paulus Hector Mair, mixed through my own experience.
Here we see a few of the basic but fundamental ways that one can use the point in practice and play-and also, why we should have a grip on the use of the basics (the point in this case) in swordplay. There is little need to recur to more complicated technique when, in the same situation, a simple point might take you to the same place of safety. Simplicity is always preferable in self-defence situations.
