Will you come with me? Won't you come with me? There's no better place to take a long strange trip with the Grateful Dead than right here. We've got music from every single studio album and a bevy of live albums, to boot. There are celebrated live performances from the 70s and 80s and official videos with more skeletons than you can shake your bones at, an exclusive seaside series on what's to come from the band's rich catalog and details on meet-ups all across the promised land. If it's community you’re after, try your hand at our yearly DEAD COVERS PROJECT competition and connect with fellow Dead Heads around the world. Heck, keep your eyes peeled you might even catch a glimpse of Pigpen on keys, Jerry in a GROOVE, Bobby tellin' tales, Mickey talkin' space, Phil and friends, Bill on the beach, or anyone from our extended family.
It's all happenin' right here. Subscribe and you won't miss a thing.

Am I the only one who thinks Money Money was reworked into I Need A Miracle?
Interesting thought
Yes. You are.
Yes, Garcia's riff is very similar, as is the chord structure and the accents. They took the gist of the song and reused the feel.
Idk..prob not, but I'm glad you shared that thought, cuz as a non musician I rarely notice these things
I think there’s a good chance money money spawned miracle
The committed and the curious?
Unbroken chain, my all time number one dead song and was at times grateful that they never played it live (for years at least) because I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to the perfection of the studio version (even though that’s opposite thinking when it comes to the dead). But after that I have to say money money and pride of cucamonga are two of my favorite tunes, dead or otherwise) and I’m really really bummed I never got to hear either live because they never played pride of cucamunga and money money they played 3 times when I was 2 years old so I never got to see it and it bums me out.
Unbroken chain and pride of Cucamonga,,,👍
I haven’t listened to Mars Hotel in ages. Thanks for sharing the anniversary
Yeah.... I never heard of a shoeshine boy
goes to show…..
This song has become the "Red Headed Step-Child" of Grateful Dead songs and at first it was my least favorite on the album; but now I absolutely LOVE it!
I would have loved to hear John Cale's opinion of sea stones given his shared love with Lagen of avant-garde composers like Steven Reich and Phillip Glass. From the story told by Lagen, it sounds like he probably didn't stick around for the actual show.
I was not ready for that “Heads Up” at 33:42 😮❤💛💚🍄😎🤙🏽
A long strange trip indeed. 🙏🏽🇺🇸
Booooommmmmm where is my tape deck ...
It's up your ass😊
I was really hoping there'd be at least a cursory mention of how the riff drifts in and out of Strong's "Money (That's what I want)". There's gotta be some interesting meat on that bone.
Backwards cowbell
Waste of an episode.
No money, no honey😢
Not my favorite song... Frankly I'd rather hear Rooster when I don't have to piss... and yet, it's an interesting podcast so far nevertheless...
I mean... used all 32 tracks, lots of overdubs... first Dead track to use digital delay on a lead vocal... no less than 4 different keyboard instruments... That strikes me as a sign of, "Maybe if we polish it just a little bit more?"
You know, the pace of the Seattle version makes it groove... Still, the lyrics... I'd have stashed it away, too.
And the interviews about the tour, and especially the clips from shows I've never heard, have kept me glued. Thanks for that.
I better check my wallet.
i think Bill Burr would love this song
i always thought money money would be a great stripper song
Enough this the backward cowbell...no more backwards cowbell
! ooM ! ooM 🐄.kcab lleb ym tnaw I 🐮
