Shahjahan was captivated in Agra Red Fort for 8 years till his last breath. From here he used to see Tajmahal regularly as a memory of his golden days with Mumtaj mahal. The place where he was captivated called as Mussaman burj. Actually this Red fort was initially build by Chauhan Vansh kings in 1045, when it was known as BADALPUR. There is a tunnel beneath Red Fort, which joins it with Taj Mahal. Certain points of architecture in Red Fort and TAJ MAHAL also indicates the original structure was Hindu temple, which was later converted into Islamic structure by replacing the upper Tombs of Minarates.
