beautiful - gone before her time. Sovereign class looked good in First Contact but I'm sure most Next Gen fans would have preferred seeing the Galaxy class fighting the Borg one last time. if the Enterprise D went out defeating the Collective it would have been a better finale than her ending up in the dirt of Veridian IV.
@colorado121 I see your point and I respect it. But The Enterprise E couldn't stand against the Scimitar, how is it going to handle a Cube? And don't forget that the alternate future version seen in "All good things" is still a galaxy in its core. Enterprise D could have been upgraded. But still - the E is an absolute beauty.
Me and my high school buddy used to fantasize in the 90s about a new Trek series with a Galaxy class ship and this music as the intro. I can't believe I'm seeing this 25 years later. Made me cry actually.
A Galaxy class masterpiece. You kept this ship in its original glory, kudos. The Earth space dock looks great. The blue hue reflecting off the Enterprise is a really beautiful touch that you do not see very often. Live long and prosper 🖖

Such a beautiful ship! My personal favourite. Shame she went down to soon! But “let’s make sure that history never forgets, the name,Enterprise” For she lives on, here! 😊 I have and always will be a huge Fan of Star Trek The Next Generation and the Movies that followed!
Late to the party but there’s one nitpick I’d like to make. The Space Dock is turning at a noticeable speed. It houses the Enterprise-D, so it must easily be multiple kilometers in diameter. At that turn rate the centrifugal forces must be enormous, probably way higher than 1 G at the rim. We can probably correct that with inertial dampening fields, but there’s no reason for it to turn in the first place.
You are absolutley right, the rotation would cause a lot of problems. I've done it only because it looks better than a stationary space dock. Physically it makes no sense.
One of the best fan pieces I’ve ever seen. Really Very Nice. Bravo!! Which one of Jupiter’s moons was destroyed to make this? The proximity looks like Io. What’s the backstory on that?
Thank you very much! I thought I should use one of the 3 Jupiter's rings (seen here as asteroid belt), I did not intend to destroy a moon :-). However if you look carefully the ring plane is not centered to Jupiter, artistic freedom...
Also! Sometime in the near future I’m thinking of making a fan series based around next Generation and was wondering if please could you make a title sequence for the series? Using this magnificent ship! But for the intro ending could you use 1:39 to 1:53 as it’s a fantastic angle and warp out
@@alfabiajs7009 thank you 😊 I was thinking of having the titles at the beginning in style of next Generation with enterprise D then after the logo it goes into the style of voyager but with the Enterprise D of course. @@drwhofan90tardis14 That is already a larger thing. I would like to work on it, however I promised to finish some work for another fan group, still several scenes to render. When coming to this I would need some storyboards and so on. Please have some patience.
Well done! What rendering engine did you use? I have a Voyager model I made a long time ago, and haven't been able to a good render of the ship. Would love some tips!
The Enterprise D was too big for Earth's Spacedock. The times we see the ship inside a Spacedock like station, they are actually at bigger stations in orbit of alien worlds. Other than that, awesome job.
Elastic sizing, like the Klingon bird of Prey model appearing as the B'rel scout and then the K'vort cruiser. You may know that Andrew Probert had meant there to be supporting dock structures added on the underside of the filming miniature's main saucer specifically for capturing Galaxy class ships (and presumably Ambassadors also) to maintain visual consistency. Instead of taking the time and spending the cash, it was decided it'll be cheaper to just reuse all ST III's footage as is and simply suggest identical alien orbiting spacedocks were much (much) larger than Earth's. In fact reading all that back, I'm not too sure if Probert's intended additions were as a considered response to the decision of reusing the earlier film's footage or whether he came up with the idea first and the producers said "no, we'll go with footage we've already got and paste in Ent D? It's another base around an alien planet - who's to say it's simply not bigger?!" Anyway, I would love to see Andrew's solution of Galaxy class ships being parked outside under Earth Spacedock because they were too wide for the doors represented in a fan film sometime!
Um... Alfabia... I know that this is a lot asked, but... Please make me a personal favour. I'd like you or someone else to make a 3D model with the following design (and show it in a video): 1. Take a Nova class ship, remove its warp nacelles and their pylons, and stretch it forward by 50%. 2. Add drastically oversized Sovereign class nacelle pylons, so that the ship starts looking like Discovery. 3. Add 2 Emmet Till warp nacelles (check QuantumDesigns AZ) 4. The name? USS Eulalia NCC-9842721.

That would have been a fitting ending for the old girl.
Agree
Galaxy has more curves than the Sovereign and that makes the Galaxy sexy

That point when comments end up aging QUITE differently than originally intended, lol.
