    3/8” may cut off points on a quilt utilizing 1/4” seams. If you intend to use a 3/8” seam on the binding, then you need to allow 3/8” from intended seam line on the quilt

    I am 78 and just now learning to do small quilting and appliqué. I bought some bias tape makers and am still confused as to how to use them, proper size etc. i like your way better and will put those in the back of the drawer. I cannot see why I would ever need to make bias tape as opposed to binding.

    Binding ALWAYS gave me panic attacks. I don’t think it will any longer. Never seen it explained this way but I always knew it just wasn’t wide enough traditional way. I even purchased a binding foot...not much better. Now I’m ready to grab that bull by the horns and...start binding everything!!! 🥰

    Hi, I can’t find your video on how to calculate the amount of binding I will need for a quilt I’m making, help! 😃

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  4 года назад +1

      Hi Sara. Measure all 4 edges of the quilt top. Add those measurements to get the total number of inches. Let's say you binding fabric is 42" wide. Then divide 42" into the total inches of your quilt top edges. That will give you the number of binding strips to cut. Stay safe. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.
