Lovely car. i may trade my aging s40 for one very soon. thanks for the honest review
Great video looking forward to the next one
I’ve got the V70 which has a cavernous boot on it, but the V 90 would be my go to
Could have demonstrated the pilot control, cross traffic features also. I’ve had one for a few months had the v60 cross country which was nice but this v90 is a more comfortable ride and the extra space is handy.
I own a C40 today, I just ordered a V90 recharge to replace it. I love my C40 but size is the reason and V90 is a really nice sleeper on the highway.
Might save me some frustration to charge it along the road.
When Volvo catch a soul they are stuck for life…
No its NOT a chinese car, only financed by chinese, they were gifted enough to finance and let us swedes work on in Göteborg SWEDEN
Thankyou for making another interesting video! I'm a big fan of the Volvo S and V90s, the car You reviewed is a big old bus isn't it!? Lovely looking car though! The V60 is more My size, it's a smaller version of the mentioned so can't be much different It's a shame the new S60s are not offered in diesel. Being from near Abergavenny it was nice to see Your excellent review on familiar roads
The only thing I'd wished they'd done with the V90 rear is make it more upright like the V60.
The more sloped rear is definitely going to rob you of wardrobe carrying capacity.
That's a b4 petrol mild hybrid..had one for year lovely car but under powered..lucky to get 30mpg..
So I have a December 2018 V90 D4 Inscription and I love it. Blond leather 20" wheels Pro spec 50k miles now. V90 is a chunk better than the V60. Such a cool car. My next car will I think be an XC90. I can release my rear seats from the boot. I am amazed you cant do that.
I believe they removed that button in the boot with the facelift.
Bought one yesterday to replace my V70 2.0t r-design.
I am actually looking to replace my 2011 V70 D3 with a 2018 V90 T5. The boot of the V90 is actually a bit smaller and the tailgate is more sloped. But it has more bells and whistles, and more comfortable.
That will be very quick as a T5!
I would suggest, unless you are a very low mileage driver you buy a V90 D4 and if you are a low mileage driver (less than 10,000 miles a year) buy a T4 V90. Great car.
@@shieldaigbencher diesel in my country (NL) is taxed to death.
@@mehrzahl2219 The U.K. system is much fairer than that. Here, everything is just taxed to death.
The button under de handbrake button is an automatic brake button it will engage the handbrake when you are stopped so you don’t have to keep pressing the brake pedal
Hello. Was this a D5 diesel as you said in the intro? Looks / sounds more like a B4 petrol? Thanks
Dream car
Isnt there headlight washers a must in UK?
I wish that Volvo would produce PHEV versions of their Cross Country (lifted) wagons
Imo V90 is too much like a ship. That v60 cross country which you made video before is very cool tho.
a beautiful house, best for you, thanks
I'd love to upgrade from my V70, but I think the V90 would be a bit expensive. Maybe in a few years.
That’s my plan. Once I can get a reasonable cross country for under 10k I expect I will
Is the V90 really an upgrade?
@@autobahnproven probably. If it were me I’d be tempted to keep the V70 too though 😆
@@johnb8956 Agreed. If I hadn't left the UK, I'd still have my 2011 V70 D5 AWD.
Would be nice to Review that new Range Rover in the background too.
It certainly would! 😍😍
2:41 there is no laminated glass... mine is xc 60 d5 2009 and it has double glass... sound insulation and impact resistant

That's a shame. In Sweden, they are still delivered with laminated glasses.
A few months ago I went to a Volvo dealer for a test drive in a MY2022 V90, the first time I'd driven one...
I knew it had lower boot capacity than the V70 / XC70 but I was struck by just how much smaller it was. The dealer admitted that Volvo had asked dealers *not* to describe them as an "estate" but as a "lifestyle vehicle". Up front it also felt somewhat "claustrophobic", even with the driver's seat pushed fully back. On the other hand, rear legroom is noticeably better than the earlier cars.
I gather that with the V90 you have to contend with the AdBlue snake-oil nonsense and consequent shrinking of the fuel tank. And I guess that means nowhere to keep a spare wheel?
It was a D5 "PowerPulse" version but it was surprisingly sluggish off the mark - in fact I wondered there was something wrong with the turbo, though there were no warning lights illuminated.
I didn't really get on with the touchscreen - I felt it was too "busy". Doubtless I would have got used to it after a while, though.
So did I buy it? Nope - a few weeks later I went to to an independent Volvo specialist where I purchased a good old XC70. Interestingly the sales chap there said they were struggling to sell V90s but had no problem at all shifting V70s and XC70s.
The V90 is a nice car, in fairness, but if you are looking for a straightforward, practical, highly competent load-lugger and you're not bothered about the latest high-tech and pin-sharp handling, for me either a V70/XC70 or a Merc E-Class estate is a better proposition overall.
Getting one this week they will no longer be available in this country only being sold in Europe.
Notice no dog guard
They no longer do R-design for 2023.
It's called dark trim instead. The inscription is removed as well.
