2024.... And I'm watching this, telling myself, "This is the car I wanted to drive." Thanks for taking us on a trip with the V90 CC. I may get a newer model, but I just wanted to share that most people are looking for this kind of review. In a world where reviews are plainly laid out with specs and performance, you brought a review of how it feels like to drive it- unique and refreshing to watch.

love this wagon. I'm from the US but have always liked Volvo's iteration of a luxury offroading car. It's really graceful looking and it just seems like a very cultured car for someone to drive. It's not shouty or garish as some of the other manufacturers too. (cough cough BMW and Lexus cough cough) It's practical, well mannered on the road, fitted with wonderful materials, and the tech is good too. It's my realistic dream car. I drive an Outback so I already appreciate what wagons have to offer. This is just a better Outback, which is already a nice car

Brilliant video with an awesome car. I love the Volvo V90 shape, the ultimate safe cruising/roadtrip car. You definitely packed it like it should be for any holiday roadtrip! We grew up in the back of numerous Saab 900s in the late 80s/90s and loved it (triplets, we always had our day to sit in the front!), absolutely great memories looking back and like you say, they become part of the holiday and more so, part of the family! I went onto buy a 900 Turbo a few years back just because of my childhood and 'dad's car' as Top Gear proved 👌 This Volvo is a whole different world now, but would have one in a heartbeat. Looks like you had a great holiday in our beautiful part of the world, you even got some 🌞🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤓 We were always the same coming back home crossing the border, counting down and cheering 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤣 Great family holidays. I mentioned in the previous upload I hired one of these last time I was in the UK - from Glasgow Airport. Very, very nice and damn quick. I hammered the arse out of it on the M8 to Edinburgh one Sunday - benefits of an Ozzie licence 😁
I know that campsite at the end of the road it's an absolutely beautiful spot.
Glengoyne Distillery is a lovely place, went there many times in the 80s, and often missed by tourists as it's on the wrong side of the Loch

Current Volvo’s are desirable and the interior design is especially attractive but would I personally buy one? Highly unlikely.
I know you hold distain for SUV’s Matt but I challenge you to test drive my Lexus RX450h by comparison. The Volvo you had is in a similar price range but I couldn’t live with that awful Diesel drone, it sounds like a commercial van IMHO. The Lexus would have swallowed your luggage with room to spare, provided equal fuel economy in near silent ambience with all the comfort, refinement, luxury and equipment you could ever wish for. It’s the perfect package for me. Not all SUV’s are the same.

Hopefully my next used car purchase. I have had my 2008 S60 since 2013 and it is without doubt the best car I have ever had and the only car I have kept for more than my usual 3 years. Apart from the dreaded DPF I haven't really had too many problems with it and spent three months last year travelling from N. Ireland to Aberdeen and then down to Somerset with many side trips in between while averaging 45 mpg on the motorways. Suspension is a little hard on the 17 inch alloys but other than that it is a long distance effortless cruiser.
Any problems with the DPF on your trip? Did it ever flash up a warning about being full? That is the only thing that worries me about buying a modern diesel, the emissions equipment.

An excellent car and good value for money by today's standards. Typical Volvo, leave the song 'n dance routine to others and get on with being an understated quality car that can cope with just about anything. What a tragedy it will be if cars like this disappear under a tsunami of SUVs.
